Such a bummer that things turned so wet. That first day was magical, although it was quite an obstacle course for all of you. Beautifully filmed and edited. Fall is wonderful, isn't it? (Until it rains).
Good decision cutting it short. The cold is too cold sometimes especially on the river. Loved the Vouyagers (bad spelling) addition on this one. Glad that group is there. Keep em coming! Thank you,
Too bad about the weather. Fall in Northern Michigan sure can be fickle. Hope you can get it next year. I did the Manistee starting at Manistee River Camp to Lake Michigan two years ago with some friends and it was amazing!
Amazing! Where did you find your campsite? Are there any resources you recommend for finding potential campsites in advance to track out your trip? Interested in taking a similar trip this summer.
Michigan has so many great opportunities and locations for adventure but no matter how much we want it to go as planned, we have to remember that our plans are subjected to Michigan's fickle nature.... which is a great excuse to go explore the Manistee at some point in the future.
How do you find places to camp? I’m planning something like this in the summer and there are zero campgrounds on the route. And I don’t think I’m allowed to camp on private property nor comfortable
Seriously? You didn't just give up on that trip, you gave up on the video...easily could've done something else and edited it in to this one. I wouldn't have just posted this... You're from Michigan bud, you know you always have to be prepared
Even though you got rained out it looks like you and your dog had a good time. Your dog is adorable too.
Thank you and yes she is a sweetheart:)
I live here in Manistee, and I don't remember the river being so jammed up with trees and debris. Crazy!
This is the start of the river near Grayling. It’s very narrow and natural that far upstream

Thank you and yea Michigan weather is always unpredictable but can make for an interesting adventure!

Keep em coming! Thank you,
It’s definitely a different kind of cold on the water. Thank you and will do!
I went down the Manistee on a three day canoe trip in 1967 while in camp. What a great trip!
Hey Bret
Looks like you had a good time even though you had to cut it short. As always, thanks for sharing your adventures!
Rick From Virginia
Thanks Rick! I’ll have to do a redo in the future
Beautiful scenery and fall colors. I'll have to do that paddle someday! Too bad you had to bail due to the weather... Looking forward to the next!
Yea will definitely be back when I can enjoy the river a little more 👍

Brett Affleck never misses. Cheers brother 🍻
Always look forward to the Brett Afleck comment hahah thanks man 🤙
Here in Georgia I find having a dewalt battery chain saw on the river helps me and others greatly
Wow....great adventure....beautiful nature
Beautiful and wet haha thank you!
You had a great start! You’ll just have to pickup where you left the River.
Exactly!

Exactly, can’t wait to go back and actually enjoy with somewhat better weather
Very nice, amazing views
Recently subscribed and I gotta say I have been loving your videos. I was wondering if you had any videos on the gear you use and how you pack it all?
How do you bail 1/2 way? Someone pick you up? I would figure you have a vehicle at the start and end…

Where does the next adventure take you?
Testing out a new hot tent and stove soon probably on the banks of the au sable.
3:28 when he’s like what the f*** had me dead lol
Hahah he was sick of them stumps
Where did you put in? Deward?
Yes Deward 👍
what is that chest pack you have?
How do you get back yo your truck?
Had a friend nearby to help us if we needed it
What kind of pfd is that?
Im wearing a chest pack holding small gear and my pfd is behind my back. The river is less than 2 ft deep in this section so no need to wear it here
Man that sux
😢
