For anyone needing help beating the boss that drops MoonVeil. Stand directly in front of the door lining up as much as possible with the boss. Then spam rock sling. It’ll go through the mist and do damage. I used 8 flasks and got him down to 25%. Afterwards you can run in there and finish him off.
Here are some tips for Route 2: You can kill the dragon in caelid, BUT you have to use the golden foot before the dying animation ends, it is a lot faster than using the foot and THEN kill the dragon. Second, making the Knight's Calvary fall off the edge is alot easier than having to go through the poison traps and making the bridge despawn. (Although, it is risker to do that method, since you can accidentally fall off the cliff.) Update: 16:11 you can actually kill this boss without having to step into the fight! Go upfront of the door behind the boss, spam rock sling, and it will clip through the door and hit the boss! Spam it a few times (might need some 2 or 3 cerulean tears) and wa la! Boss is dead without having to even step into the door! That's all the tips i can give out! I'll update this comment if i have found a better and faster solution to some of the steps in this video.
For the Knight's Cavalry I really just recommend following the guide instead of trying to make him fall. Idk if I was doing it wrong but I tried multiple times and found it to be really difficult to make him fall. The way in the guide, however, took me literally one try and was extremely easy (took 10 seconds without much skills).
Tip for new players doing this, the night calvary is much easier if you go to the tree directly left of the bridge & stand on top of it, once the fight is engaged he will eventually fall off the edge EZGG
I started my playthrough focusing mainly on magic before realizing some bosses wouldn’t stay far enough away for me to rely on magic. The moonveil is what I set my sights on and I’m so glad I did. Even without half the stuff you mentioned it’s amazing
Tip for Radahn, In the Fringefolk Hero's grave there is an incantation seal that boosts dragon communion incantations. You can go to the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid and get Rotten breath, which you have to hit Radahn with 2 times per phase and it helps immensely
As of 1.03, this still works. Even with the nerfs to Moonveil, I wanted to get a strong start on a caster for my second playthrough. Caelid dragon and Night Cavalry cheese is still valid, and worth doing for the souls alone, even if you don't intend to do any of the other stuff for whatever reason. Thanks for the awesome vid!
Transient Moonlight damage was reduced, also does less posture damage. It's still decent, just not as strong as it was pre-patch. Probably does about the same damage as Unsheath now, maybe a little bit less. Still worth using imo.
With the free golden foot behind the start, I'm surprised everyone still tells people to ride all the way around. You can just warp to first steps and then basically turn around and ride off the back, the spirit geyser will make you fall like directly onto the item. Saves like a minute or two over the normal routes.
Route 7 is a bit hard to follow Edited: this build is so op, Bosses that use to take hours to defeat, now they take 10-20mins if I'm careful. This video has helped a lot.
@@GxGNoir New Bosses from Ranni's quest line took multiple attempts. Story ones I've done first to second attempt. Radahn was the easiest from Ranni's quest line
If you was using his "Sword of Night & Flame' build. If you had a dragon heart you could use 'Ekzykes's Decay' Incantation which Spews scarlet rot breath. Cast it twice on your subject and watch it's HP just tick away. As you are running around him laughing your butt off.
you can get any special wepon to +9 pretty early by killing godric that will advance the first npc you see's storyline and he'll move to the lake talk to him there upgrade your weapon to around +3 or more. then invade 3 times you don't have to kill the host invade then die quick then talk to the npc at the church then to get the blood on the cloth just go on the route like your going to the dectus lift and hang a right to the madness and town and the church there the maidens blood you need then talk to the npc at the lake again and get the summons use that and you'll go to the everyones favorite farm spot but there are also somber stones +7 just laying around to take. or go to the bottom of the elevator in the academy in the lake and get "eaten" by the iron maden down there to teleport to the volcano area where you can find +5 +6 and +7 stones there. for the +8 go back to dragon barrow from the fort and head to the grand tower thing and there is a dung beetle ball that drops a +8 somber and just below right next to the tower is a +9 on a corpse just laying around to grab up
when dungeon crawling PLEASE do video at regular speed! its fine when riding but trying to follow that and dodging enemies and navigating turns I'd sometimes have to slow it down to .25 and still had to watch a few times to catch the little turn into the dark nook. would be a huge help! Great video, FINALLY done! took a hell of alot longer then 2 hours tho and no way a unleveled player could do this very easily!
Didn't think I was gonna beat the boss after 3 times. Gave it one more go with the meteorite staff and rolled after his attacks. Beat it and got the moonveil so satisfying. Thanks for the tutorial
Actually there is cheese in step 3. he could actually die from the poison. If the poison is gone go after him again and make him chase u again. repeat the process and watch him over the cliff while he rot in hell. :) but luckily after he inhale too much poison he took his own life by jumping over the cliff. lol
if you want to make the black knife assasin a bit easier and as such, postpone getting the knife talisman, if you progress through with D's story(before giving him his dagger back) you can summon D for that fight
At the bridge with the black knight you can lure him up a tree and off the edge i killed that black knight without even swinging my sword or taking any damage here's how to do it..... From the side of the bridge with the grace point get on your horse and when you see black night on the other side of the bridge standing there run across the bridge when you get to the other side of the bridge the black knight will turn around at this point and charge you, on your left side of the bridge if you came from the grace point there is a tree, when the knight starts chasing you on his horse bust a hard left towards the tree this tree is literally right by the bridge touching the bridge on your left.... ride your horse to the base off the tree get off your horse and run up to the very end point of this tree, the tree is shaped like a ramp so if done correctly the knight will run up the tree at you and all you have to do is jump off the tree at the last minute to dodge him and land on the bridge to your right at this point if done correctly the knight will run up the tree and off the edge by the bridge and fall to his death giving you a kool ash of war and a bunch of souls.
I don’t think you mentioned where you got the armor from or how to get it. Love the rest of the video, glad someone is taking the time to make builds and actually explain to you how and where to go 💯 A1
This is a great guide ... except it took me nine hours to get to own Moonveil because I could not beat that boss! Did it in the end using your method plus Raya Lucaria Soldier Ashes +3.
Bloodhound's fang is the strongest weapon in the early game, worth to be mentioned is bloodhound's fang can be infused with any grease of elements, providing flexibility to face any types of boss with different weakness. In addition, bloodhound's fang can achieve +10 very easy by doing somber smithing stone route, and being Op with only 40 str 40 dex investment until the very very late game, so if you want to be op, just go for Blaidd's quest, hope you guys enjoy the easiest mode in elden ring : bloodhound's fang run.
For the dark night on the bridge drag him to the back left hop on the side of the bridge and he will jump off the bridge I did this on my first go hope it helps!
i followed you night and flame sword guide. It's great to see that your video improved! It's a lot less confusing than the night flame video. Thank you for this great content!
Hey thanks 🙏🏽 I appreciate you taking the time for this actually used it myself and followed through it some of your instructions on stream to help some people out
Did this guide and worked flawless thank you, I’ve played ds1 and DS3 but never elden I’m not good at the game but this helped me a ton with playing the game thank you for the massive help. I’m looking forward to more videos like this
THIS IS IT!!! Awesome job. But route six can be avoided by going to the portal north north east from that grace you got in liurnia it would take you to the giant that sells somber stones behind the illusionary wall.
For the boss assassin in the tunnels that is invisible, you wont get this item till the capital area, but theres an item called the sentry's torch that unveils invisible assassins. Which there are multiples of in the late game and this boss. Makes the fight trivial, also wolves track the boss from what ive been told, so you can summon them to find the boss easier early on if the torch isnt an option yet. To get the torch, theres a trader in the inner battlements area in a shack skirting the outer perimeter of the walls, youll know it when you see a grace near a small house with the trader inside.
For the bad guy on the bridge, you have to keep him right behind you until about halfway up the hill, and then just take off and ride up to the point you showed on your video here without looking back. He'll die. I couldn't get it to work until I made sure he followed me most of the way, but then just took off as fast as I could to that point. He'll despawn and die.
@@oSkippyo The poison hill. There's a point toward the top where he despawns, keep him right on your ass up to that point, or just before it, and right before he's going to despawn, take off like a shot and don't look back, and just ride up and across to where he showed in the video. Ride fast for that point right as he's despawning and he should die. You just want to be as far away from the bridge as possible as he's trying to spawn back at it. It's a timing thing.
what happens if he doesn’t die and doesn’t respawn? It never said Enemy fallen but he doesn’t show up on the bridge anymore (I already tried saving and logging back in)
Anyone else realize that transient moonlight is just unsheathe but with a magic projectile added? The r2 on unsheathe is absolutely ridiculous in terms of the amount of posture damage that is done per hit. I've staggered bosses in 2 to 3 hit before. Moonveil should be just as, if not more, ridiculous than the basic uchi in that regard.
@@nuktzyyt4899 The way I beat him to sprint left the moment I walked into the arena. They rotate left till his 3 charges are done. Once it over I just ran upto him and stayed close. I read from other comments hat he only does his charge attack if your some distance away so sticking to him seems to be ideal.
if anyones reading this, for night calvary go on the edges of the hill and go slow on horse until he attacks and it will throw him off the map its a way better efficient way to kill him easily
thanks to the vague bit at 13:25, i actually went back to the last grace site and proceded south-west. instead of finding ruins i got invaded by Millicent and obliterated using that obnoxious blade dance and lost 4k+ runes lmao
Finally was able to get moonviel by cheeseing the boss I just stood outside the green mist for the magma worm just spam rock sling at door and it should make him take damage keep I'm mind u guys might need a few magic flasks I needed 7 good luck to all the new playerss
Sup gamers. For the last boss in this guide (the Fallingstar Beast I believe was his name) you can do a similar trick others are using for the Moonveil boss. 1. Line up at the doorway in the center and try to "aim" directly down the middle where the boss should be. 2. Spam Rock Sling. You should be seeing ~240 Damage each cast if doing it right ( I couldn't get more ). 3. With about 3-4 Blue estus you should be able to phase the boss. You can tell the boss is phased because he begins taking more damage. 4. IMPORTANT the key to this trick is to get him phased twice. Maybe I got lucky but the boss was frozen in 3rd phase when I finally went in. 5. Loot and praise!
Regardless of wether they nerfed Moonveil or not, this guide is insane. I managed to first-try, no-damage Margit in what felt like seconds (it’s also my first playtrough) and completely obliterated everything until Renala, who only gave me a hard time due to her magic resistance, but I still took surprisingly few tries compared to my friends.
I have a love hate for the sword and flame build because the start up animation for the flame attack is slow that be getting me killed by the golden bull in the crystal cave lol but when it hits that HITTS
yah this is way faster, but about half the damage and more fp cost. i would say this has less weaknesses but as you said, when snaf hits it's brrrrrrrr
The jellyfish really saved my ass here. It’s not flashy, but it tanks like nobody’s business and bought me the time and space I needed to Kamehameha the bull to death.
I really have some fun with the night and flame and with the help of it I think I progressed way farther in the game than I should be able to as a slow old fart playing his first soul game. But what I really dislike is, as soon as an enemy only stands slightly uphill or downhill, both of the skills will miss even if locked onto the target.
Right before you "race" the knight on the bridge, when you need to jump down, there is an air jump point to the right that you can use. Makes it much safer to traverse, albeit a touch slower.
Thank you man I spent so long looking for a good starter build that I can skim through early stages and I’m amazed that such a low subscribed channel is well getting so few views so detailed and entertaining thx man.A king of all noobs like me for the Souls Franchise.
Single Talisman slot until you've beaten Margit and you've got Radagon Soreseal slotted for requirements. All depends if you're rushing or just following as a general guide.
@@marschantescorcio1778 I scored the Moonveil at level 23 using a +3 flail, rock sling and meteorite staff without fighting Margit or seeing this guide. Just glossing over anything I may have overlooked.
If you go find Iji early on, you can purchase Somber Smithing Stones 1-4. This can save some running around. He will also sell you the Carian Filigreed Crest after you help Blaidd kill the dude in the Evergaol. I think this is a better talisman choice than the Cerulean Dagger now that Moonveil's posture damage has been nerfed and you won't be getting as many crits.
There's actually a somber 6 at volcano manor if you get kidnapped at the bottom of the water wheel at the academy area in the water map. Get grabbed by iron maiden and jump down lava and climb stairs then jump on the roofs to the tight left avoiding lizard man then there's a somber 6. Watch out, if you got the somber 5 you went to far right on the roofs and you'll have to go back again and get it like I did.
I would skip some of the first parts for the dragon kill and farm for the 90k or so runes off the guys that gives 1k per kill which sounds like a lot of time but its really not but it is indeed slower but worth it if you are like me and dont want to miss out on quests for the sake of saving 10min or so for cheesing some runes.
While I agree with that, the devs had made ng+ for the reason that players might not do everything in one session thus letting players go into ng+ and finished what they hadn’t before
If you’re going to Run lower FP i actually recommend just using the long bow as your main ranged damage, level up to +8 and it’s essentially at the same level as the meteor staff. Once you get mid game then yes staff is better but I saw less flask spamming with the bow and it did enough. Also at 125 you could allocate 5 extra points to mind from intel Because MV scales both dex and int having both high will still make it do insane dmg without the extra 5 points when it begins to soft cap
I drifted into a build like this as soon as I found that Katana. Was very glass cannon since I had almost no vigor or stamina but it hit hard and was going great until I faced the Raya Academy boss who magic does seemingly almost no damage to and that fight was a nightmare especially with how she drifts away and fires magic at you constantly that would 1 shot me. Almost just started over especially as it was a 2 phase fight with the first one just being filler. Luckily I was able to change it up and finally take her down. Followed your sword of night and flame build after and am happy with that but I think I am going to widen my stat pool a bit and trade pure effectiveness for more experimentation now im further into the game and have more options. Never used Blood hound or quick step but think I will give them a go.
@@nguyenkhoa-gz4sn It was less about her not being weak and more about her being incredibly resistant to that was the problem coupled with my low stamina and low vigor build at the time. I had other weapons but none were upgraded very high and I didnt know where to get more stones at the time to do so. I couldnt get blood loss on her in second phase due to how slow my attacks were I was lucky to hit her once before she drifted away and caused my second attack to miss or she busted out a summon and threw me back or went into her moon and one hit from her would kill me outright or stun me for a kill. I tried dual katanas (uchi and gravity one) but it didnt work out. Ended up beating her with the Rogers (rogier?) rapier after I buffed the wolves summon to +3 so they didnt die immediately. Took a long time though as my dexterity wasnt very high. She was just the kryptonite to my build and the filler first section made the repetition extremely painful. Luckily havent had anywhere near as much trouble with other bosses so far. Just beat Commander Niall and Mohgg as my last two both were pretty challenging for me but didnt feel like an insurmountable obstacle in the same way as Renala did as when I hit them I could see their lifebar go down more than a millimeter and while they could easily one shot me I found it much easier to approach them and get hits off or rather with Niall I let him attack me while I dodged and got my opening that way due to his frost tornado thing.
@@Ragingspoon yeah builds work for certain bosses, my build currently did Rennala really ez, but when I met Radahn and other bosses I got rekt haha cause I have to go ultra melee. Cheers mate should try some builds haha
Just wanted to say thank you for this guide!!! You helped me so much that you actually renewed my faith in the game cause I was honestly having a really hard time. I have already gotten through two of the main bosses, but I am 7 hours in :/ I had a question though: How many times did you have to kill that mob for your armor? I've killed him at least 20 times and only gotten the gloves and shield. Thank you again for this video!
This was fantastic. I can tell you put alot of work into this and it was worth it. EDIT: trying to figure out who the music is driving me nuts...is this metal gear solid?
Base it around the wyrm scale blade you get from the ruin strewn precipice wyrm, then grab flame grant me strength from behind Fort gael which increases physical and fire damage on your weapon 👍
@@TheSurgeExclusive So when I did it it had only done 126 dmg making me have to try and kill it from halfway to 0. It took my a lot of trys but I eventually got it to do 326. Which left it at about 6 light attacks.
Don't know if there could be a nice "Strength/Dex" build that could come up in the future, but definitely for sure, the dagger suggestion was truly a godsend. Always ran into an issue of getting jumped, so having a chance to disengage when things go bad would be very helpful. Thank you. As for this build, I want to give this a shot. My goal is to try and beat Elden Ring at least twice: Once with a Magic user (using any spells, to which that's where the Astrologer with Sword of N&Fis currently a WIP), and the other with Just melee weapons (to which this could count maybe with Moonveil, but I do want to try but I will probably wait a bit until this first magic playthrough is done).
As a commenter called Christian Rodriguez said (just reposting because it actually fucking works, lifesaver), "for anyone needing help beating the boss that drops MoonVeil. Stand directly in front of the door lining up as much as possible with the boss. Then spam rock sling. It’ll go through the mist and do damage. I used 8 flasks and got him down to 25%. Soon as I saw the name of this Katana, I immediately thought of the Tekken 5 moonlight wilderness BGM. Sweet that someone actually used it in a video. This is by far my favorite katana in the game
Protip for killing the knights dude, instead of doing any of that from the grace to the left theres a little cliff you can jump to once you aggro him just jump there, wait for him to chase you there then jump back and youll see him slip off and die a lot easier
Not bad. In fairness Bloodhound Fang can be more OP in 2hrs than Moonveil.. but its fantastic if you wanna do an int Katana build. Just find BHF (quality) build allows you to use more weapons than a dex/int build. Misericorde would be a good dagger to put your step ash on since it has the highest critical of any game in the weapon at 140. Can poise break them with moonveil then crit them with the dagger... and pair with the dagger talisman for that extra crit damage.
I was beating my head against a wall trying to beat Radahn until I realized you didn't need to fight him at all. All you need to do is ride your horse around reviving everyone. Never fired a shot or swung a weapon at him, beat him all the same.
Turn the automatic save off on your system before doing the Dragon ruin exploit. Do the dragon exploit a few times, then manually save by quitting the game. Manually Upload ur save game to the cloud. Now if u mess up the dragon ruin exploit, u can quit the game and download ur previous save.
just a heads up. anyone who is thinking about doing this keep in mind that matchmaking is dependent on level and weapon level. by doing this you'll be op early, and not be able to match make w/ many players, which means you'll not be getting those easy early game rune arcs. i pretty much did this, but to the extreme, got a +9 moonveil, 10 flasks, 4 talisman slots, mimic tear and only lvl 35. i couldn't get summoned to save my life
You can get somber 7, 8, and 9 right near that 6 in Caelid as well. 9 is under the divine tower Bridge. 7 is in the volcano manor. 8 I can't remember where but it's close.
Tip for the boss to get bloodhound step Run in kind of a zig zag pattern and never look back because if you look back you will load the bridge and he want fall to the void
This looks good, I'm almost tempted to start over and try this out. I just got the Lazuli Glintstone Sword from the mages after multiple attempts at killing them.

you can get any special wepon to +9 pretty early by killing godric that will advance the first npc you see's storyline and he'll move to the lake talk to him there upgrade your weapon to around +3 or more. then invade 3 times you don't have to kill the host invade then die quick then talk to the npc at the church then to get the blood on the cloth just go on the route like your going to the dectus lift and hang a right to the madness and town and the church there the maidens blood you need then talk to the npc at the lake again and get the summons use that and you'll go to the everyones favorite farm spot but there are also somber stones +7 just laying around to take. or go to the bottom of the elevator in the academy in the lake and get "eaten" by the iron maden down there to teleport to the volcano area where you can find +5 +6 and +7 stones there. for the +8 go back to dragon barrow from the fort and head to the grand tower thing and there is a dung beetle ball that drops a +8 somber and just below right next to the tower is a +9 on a corpse just laying around to grab up
when dungeon crawling PLEASE do video at regular speed! its fine when riding but trying to follow that and dodging enemies and navigating turns I'd sometimes have to slow it down to .25 and still had to watch a few times to catch the little turn into the dark nook. would be a huge help!
Thanks for the tutorial

if you want to make the black knife assasin a bit easier and as such, postpone getting the knife talisman, if you progress through with D's story(before giving him his dagger back) you can summon D for that fight

You can kill it through the door

And also you missed the scholar scroll right by the church where you see thorp.
He'll despawn and die.
do you mean halfway up the hill with the poison or do you want to leave him in the middle of the bridge?
nvm i was able to get it. i had to bait him just a little bit up the hill. enough that he wants to return to his bridge without completely respawning.
It never said Enemy fallen but he doesn’t show up on the bridge anymore (I already tried saving and logging back in)
@@luvoni5131 You have to go there at night. Go to the Grace and Pass Time until night. He should be on the bridge.
Wait are there people who didn't realize that transient moonlight was just unsheathed with a magic projectile? Thought it was pretty obvious.
Dude iv been trying to beat the one that drops it and as soon as I enter he bodies me and shoots me with shit I can get one hit in
@@nuktzyyt4899 The way I beat him to sprint left the moment I walked into the arena. They rotate left till his 3 charges are done. Once it over I just ran upto him and stayed close. if anyones reading this, for night calvary go on the edges of the hill and go slow on horse until he attacks and it will throw him off the map its a way better efficient way to kill him easily
What if he Despawns fully and doesn’t appear on the bridge even though it never says enemy fallen?

The choice of music to showcase Moonveil... Moonlight Wilderness... *chef's kiss*
Never played a game like this before. I followed everything you’ve done and I’m loving the outcome
Yo pwar, I remember watching your nioh videos and you were at 80k subs and now your at 96k like gzzzzzzzz

Heyya how do you use bloodhound and moonviel at same time?

I have a love hate for the sword and flame build because the start up animation for the flame attack is slow that be getting me killed by the golden bull in the crystal cave lol but when it hits that HITTS
Yeah, it's such a slow build.
yah this is way faster, but about half the damage and more fp cost. i would say this has less weaknesses but as you said, when snaf hits it's brrrrrrrr
If you got duces medallion, you can find a somber 6 leading up a ladder on the path that leads to volcano manor. On a dead guy next to his loyal wolf.
One thing you missed was to hit the Beastman boss in Coveside Cave to score a Flamesdrake Talisman to reduce fire damage against the Magma Wyrm

Love this new video especially the direction on the map! Really helps compared to the night and flame one lmao..Thanks!!
Was really having trouble deciding what to play for my 3rd run (2nd character)… this will definitely be the starting point 👌🏻👌🏻
I killed Dragon lord placidiosax with moonviel katana. This weapon surprised me throughout the game.❤❤❤
I tried this method… Managed to die right after getting the 96,000, and then promptly died trying to get it back… New character time. Lmao
Night and flame build, thanks ❤️helped my build out a lot
Awesome video. Wasn't expecting Tekken OST as background music - love it.
What was the name of it if your don’t mind me asking??
I would skip some of the first parts for the dragon kill and farm for the 90k or so runes off the guys that gives 1k per kill which sounds like a lot of time but its really not but it is indeed slower but worth it if you are like me and dont want to miss out on quests for the sake of saving 10min or so for cheesing some runes.
While I agree with that, the devs had made ng+ for the reason that players might not do everything in one session thus letting players go into ng+ and finished what they hadn’t before
Bro do the ball farm in caelid, 1950 runes every 35 seconds if your load times are down 🤘🏽
If you’re going to Run lower FP i actually recommend just using the long bow as your main ranged damage, level up to +8 and it’s essentially at the same level as the meteor staff. Once you get mid game then yes staff is better but I saw less flask spamming with the bow and it did enough.
Also at 125 you could allocate 5 extra points to mind from intel
Because MV scales both dex and int having both high will still make it do insane dmg without the extra 5 points when it begins to soft cap
Insanely well done video. Good detail and explanations
Rock Sling is the life saver when fighting the Wyvern. Thanks, you're the MVP.
Never used Blood hound or quick step but think I will give them a go.
for magic resist boss like Renala you should have other katanas to do physical and blood loss, it should be easy, not every boss is weak to magic

Protip for killing the knights dude, instead of doing any of that from the grace to the left theres a little cliff you can jump to once you aggro him just jump there, wait for him to chase you there then jump back and youll see him slip off and die a lot easier
Finally Step by step guide. Unlike the other talkative people who explains unnecessary things.
mages you can use rock sling before you open the door to the boss to get the moonveil. just make sure you have enough blue flasks. works still
Can poise break them with moonveil then crit them with the dagger... and pair with the dagger talisman for that extra crit damage.

just a heads up. anyone who is thinking about doing this keep in mind that matchmaking is dependent on level and weapon level. by doing this you'll be op early, and not be able to match make w/ many players, which means you'll not be getting those easy early game rune arcs. i pretty much did this, but to the extreme, got a +9 moonveil, 10 flasks, 4 talisman slots, mimic tear and only lvl 35. i couldn't get summoned to save my life
