So I recently got this same model, the air fryer basket is extremely flawed, it has 4 deep grooves which collects grease, so when air frying the wings are spreading in their own grease and I had to stop multiple times and tilt and shake the basket to pour the grease out
Hey CJ. I have the original Ninja Foodi Grill Pro. Do you think an upgrade to this would be worth it for me? I can't do it now anyway, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
CJ, any idea where I can get the little cover over the grease collector that I see in your video? I can't find them on Ninja's website. Anything heavy, like a steak, keeps sliding down into the grease catch/collector. Thanks in advance for your help.
I thought you could get them from their site. But I bought the sear n sizzle from grill grates and it covers that catch and the grill is horizontal so less sliding.
thank you for another great video, i had this machine , but ended up getting rid of it because of the cleaning problem as im a massive clean freak ,, but after i regretted it , nothing else came close , so ive just re orderd another , , you ,mentioned powerwash , is that a kind of cleaning product , or did you litterly mean a powerwasher ?, i did use a steam cleaner on the last ninja , but that just made everything chalky and actually look even worse, any advice from youre side would be well appreciated , , yours looks , just how i would like to keep mine , , thankyou my friend , from the UK
Hey dude, I really appreciate your Ninja videos! - I just bought this fryer\grill and have been using your videos a general guide. Very helpful to visually see your real-world presentations. I have learned a lot and you helped speed up the learning curve... I just love how well food cooks (and tastes) in this thing. And I love the contained mess and smells as well. I even bought silicone fingered gloves that I saw in one of your videos! Very useful solution to handling the very hot plates after use... Thanks again bro and keep up the excellent mouth-watering work! :)
With that extra piece on the back of the machine that sticks out... What is the exact measurement from front to back please. I want to see if it fits in my storage space. Thanks!

Great presentation. Question... When will they make a window so you can see inside while food cooks? Then you do not need to open it as much on certain foods. Thanks CJ👍
I wish they sold an accessory Griddle with higher walls that's the only Con maybe a deal breaker purchased from Amazon so I still have time to return it. Love your videos I used your recipes.
I just order it CJ, I have been waiting for this new grill from Ninja using the bottom heating which is a game-changer for me. The old Ninja products I give to my friends to introduce them to cooking.
I would use this for some veggies. Awesome channel and an even more amazing guy. Fantastic detailed review CJ. Better than any infomercial for this product.
What is the difference between 5-n 1, 6-n 1, & the 7-1? The 7-n 1 appears a lot larger. Can a big chicken fit in for roasting? Can you shut the lid to grill steaks so smoke does not escape into my white kitchen or grease escape when cooking bacon. Would be nice to understand the differences.
More features. The 6 in 1 is probably the biggest. The 7 in 1 you can do more with. I’ve fit a whole chicken in both. But it’s best to spatchcock the chicken. You can shut the lid and it keeps the smoke real low. On the 7 in 1 you can also cook with the lid open.

@@CookingWithCJ So in my Smart XL 6 in 1, I often replaced the bottom pan with a disposable foil pan to cook many things. Am I not able to do that with the new griddle version?
@@kristiarmstrong1636 you cannot replace the grill pan. But you can set a foil pan on the griddle place to bake things. I did a video on how to bake in it too.
@@CookingWithCJ Super, thanks. I'll look for that baking video. My main reason for using the foil pans is so I can do multiple items for one meal without having to clean out the pan and start over with the next item.
Thank you for this review, I'm a newbie to the Ninja Foodi's and decided to take the plunge because I feel so bad having hubby have to grill outside in 110 degree heat here in Phoenix. So far I've made cheeseburgers and Philly Cheesesteaks. Steaks are next. Looking forward to watching you cook different recipes on it!

It's almost a year now since this video. Any updates? It's on my shopping list and ready to purchase but I really respect your review. So since this review, how is it working for you since then? Would you raise the bar or lower the bar or neutral?
This has been my favorite ninja grill by far. Very versatile. Wish there was a bit more room in it, but other than that, still dig it. I’ve been working on their new outdoor grill lately, but will still use this one all the time.
So quick question … when it’s on the bake option is the fan blowing harder or the same as air fry or is it more like a lower convection style fan speed?

Any idea what is going wrong here? Thank You
Hey mate thanks for the informative videos. We enjoy watching them. Quick question do you know if the Ninja Silicone Mini Mould would fit in Foodi smart XL pro grill ? Look forward to your reply.
Not much. I don’t ever use my dishwasher. If there’s something that’s a bit stuck on, which is rare, but if so, I’ll just let it soak in dawn overnight.
I have the 6 in 1 xl grill. I got great deal on the 7 in 1 pro. This one doesn’t have thermometer. Would you recommend using the 7 in 1 or sticking with my old foodie?
So far, so GOOD! KINDA WISH I HAD GOTTEN THE ONE WITH THE TEMP PROBE! COOKED CHX BREAST I KINDA OVERCOOKED IT AND THE BONE-IN RIBEYE WAS PERFECT! LOVE YOUR VIDS!
You don't really need that probe I have the ninja foodie grill xl with the thermometer and it's not accurate. Using a regular meat thermometer seems to work better.

Hey I’ve never had any of these before! Which would you say is the best ninja for steak? My friend has the Ninja® Foodi™ Indoor Grill & Air Fryer and steak comes out delicious! Is this better for steak?
Love your reviews. I own an original Ninja Foodi Grill and I am considering the IG601, mostly for the griddle and bottom heating. Do you think it is a worthy upgrade? Amazon has been censoring reviews again, but it seems people are complaining about things like :Probe errors, lid closing errors, food sliding down into the grease traps, and the ceramic finish peeling off.
I love mine. I don't have problems with food sliding or lid errors. But, I never trust any of Ninja's probes. They work fine, but not always the most accurate.
Thanks CJ....Found one in an open box (unbelievable price), so I have it on the way...along with a 2 yr warranty...LOL. I use an instant on and also have a Bluetooth thermometer, so if the Foodi's isn't accurate, all will be good. Both the IG601 and IG651 are no longer listed on Ninja's site, so I bet something new is on the way.@@CookingWithCJ
@@CookingWithCJ Thank you for the response. So when I operate the grill function, and close the lid, the heat comes from the top and bottom, and when open, only from the bottom?
You get about a year of nonstick on the grill grate no matter how well you take care of it. I've gone through two now. Neither were ever in the dishwasher. The second never saw any kind of oil spray. They both failed in a year after using on average twice a week. Other than that it is a great machine.
Now you have had this for a while, how do you compare the XL vs the XL pro grill/griddle? Great videos by the way, going to get one of these just not sure which is going to be best/most versatile?
This is a fantastic quick review and, as someone who enjoys 'real' barbecue, I appreciate you calling out that it isn't for barbecue but the griddle feature does look like it will be really useful. I've been thinking of getting one so I've watched a few videos, yours is by far the best. Some of the others looked like they really didn't know what they were doing. So that's an instant click on the Subscribe button from me. I'll look forward to future cooks on this as well as your barbecue stuff. Great work.
Hey CJ. I literally just bought the 5 in 1 a week ago. After watching your video. It's going back and I'm picking up the 7-in-1 smart XL grill in the morning. I'm hoping you have another link to a physical review as you mentioned at the beginning of this video. I've heard some people have gripes about the air fryer basket and how it catches oil and simple little things like that. But all the reviews seem very positive that I've seen but I would like to see your review!
Ok, so I haven’t done a review yet. But, I love it. The basket does have little groves that can collect stuff. But it hasn’t been an issue for me. It’s my favorite Foodi grill so far.

Thanks for your review. I really like the idea of grilling or gridding with the lid up. I am very tempted to get this new NFG.❤️❤️
Right on! So far I dig it a lot.
Hi CJ! Is a major difference with this XL that you can cook with lid open? Whereas the original you can not? Thanks
Duh, i just heard you say it! TY!
Thank you!!
Does baking pot come with newest model?
No it doesn’t.
In the top, there is a fan and element as well?
Yes there is. So you get heat from top and bottom
Thanks for watching
Does it have a heating function at the bottom?Does each of the upper and lower parts have a heating function?
It heats from top and bottom. The top turns on when you close the lid.
Now you have had this for a while, how do you compare the XL vs the XL pro grill/griddle? Great videos by the way, going to get one of these just not sure which is going to be best/most versatile?
Thanks much! I’m digging the grill griddle over all of them. I feel like you can do more with it.
That's just what I need ! 😎
YES!
Watching your videos I'm gonna end up with all New appliances in my kitchen HAHAHA
Love it! Lol
Great work.
Awesome! Thanks much!
@@CookingWithCJ I have to agree. I love it
can you do toast on this or do I have to keep the toaster oven too ?
Yes you can do toast.
You did not mention that there is no 4qt pot, in this new model???
Hi CJ. What is the actual model number. I’m trying to find it in UK? Cheers watched lots of your videos this morning. Fabulous and thank you
Hey thank you! I think it’s IG601
