Lefty looks so comfortable sleeping on that pillow in the front seat. I love how you think of him when traveling and where he would like to stop. You're such a good dad.
You're a man on a mission. That's a lot of miles in a day for someone that's not driving for a living. When I head out to the Arizona, New Mexico area I plan on taking a month. With the price of diesel I might sell my bus and buy a covered wagon and a couple Clydesdales.
I'm in no hurry going out west I would like to be out in Olympic National Park around the middle of August to the 1st of September I'm going to be going by the Badlands Glacier National Park and then little Milo may work our way over to Olympic National Park but I'm in no hurry we will be living out of our Buick Encore for a few months cuz if everything goes well I would like to work my way up to Alaska hopefully we'll have to see how that goes take care man love your Channel
You are having a good trip making good time each day. Lefty is such a good dog to travel with and walk with when you stop to rest. We hope your back continues to heal.
Glad you are feeling some relief from your back pain and that so far all that driving hasn't irritated it. Drive safe and give Lefty a good scratch for me!
Lefty feels right at home everywhere because you showed him the World is y'alls! I drove back last week to N Ga. So comforting to be in the midst of such Beautiful Green!! Good luck with injury...ugh.
Hi David: I just watched 1 of your videos. I almost quit the nomad life. The back drop was amazing. You turned around and asked Lefty to do the same and he sat down. Priceless. We love it when Lefty puts the brakes on.. I'm old school, thinking you should write a book, when on video that's what you have been doing. With people like you putting yourself and your amazing dog out there makes a lot of peoples day. You talk about bad days, look at Lefty and there are no bad days. Thanks David. Jerry the lemon dude.
Hey Dave and Lefty. When we do long days on the road, my Buddy (the wonder hound) puts his nose to the ground first thing, makes me think of the world of smell he lives in. Two hours down the road and it's a whole different world.
I've been wondering how you and Lefty were doing since you've been injured. Thanks for checking in with the video and glad you're seeing less in the way of pain. Safe travels!
I really like Loves. A bunch of them have fenced in dog areas where Lefty could run without his leash. I usually grab something to eat and then go sit in the dog area with my two pups while i eat and they play a bit.
I too am a morning person , love watching the sunrise , and getting an early start to my day. Safe travels to you David and Mr. Lefty. Hope your back is feeling better real soon. Saw your last video regarding what you had found out about your back. I too have a similar issue , and found the exercise really help. The BLM land you found in upper Arizona , is so awesome. Take care , love your videos
Another great video. In reference to not being able to fill up completely. When you put in your card they do a pre authorization for whatever limit they have set. Could be 100, or 125, or whatever. They do that because most vehicles won’t be getting that much anyhow (or at least in the past). So you can always just run your card again and start over with fueling process.
Last time I went inside and said "fill up" and it doesn't shut off. Two trips to the clerk , though. A few fuel stations will spare you going back in if you tell them a dollar amount ABOVE what you think you'll need. You will be charged on what you actually buy. Card authorization thing. Whenever I see spinning Windmills on the interstate, I hope to see them pointing at the direction I'm coming, from. 🙂
I'm not a morning person, but I love the early morning driving too! It's kind of spiritual. Great show...I especially liked how you switched up the music. 🤗🤗
Lefty man in slow motion that's another gear. Your stay at the lake was awesome. Mar. 22/2021. That is an amazing front door you had. Jerry. David I hope you are doing ok.
What a surprise to see my name roll by! How super sweet of you. Really love seeing Lefty's pillow berm with a view and appreciate your mentions about I-35 to 70. I'm considering taking 70 from California to Michigan to see my dad this year for a change. Great details! Hope your back is healing up. I felt for you at that campsite!
Im just at the part you found Sonic! Its your lucky day...$1 bill and a burger n fries Way to go, David. I hope that sciatica eases up each mile you drive. That is a true "pain in the butt"
If you experience headache and/or nausea in those old-school ambulance conversions over time on the road, it may be because of the seal between the cab and the box, allowing exhaust gasses to enter the cab. Try keeping your side windows cracked open a 1/2 inch or so until you can check the seals.
Truck on to the homelands for a nice visit w/the family and get well w/your back. Hope you can make it there safely. Hope Lefty finds his good grass! Fuel prices ugh, don't mention them.
Chronic lower back pains are the worst. I can feel your pain. Include fresh ginger in your meals will cure the pains. At age 50 I suffered a great deal with lower back pains. Now I am 65 and feel great way better than when I was at age 50. I haven't had them horrible pains since. I still slice fresh ginger in my lemon tea. I also use lots of garlic, turmeric in all my meals. Hope you feel better soon. I love your adorable cute dog such a loyal family member.
Thanks for the travel video! Sucks to travel while feeling ill. You have the best background music by far! Safe travels, and a pet, pat and pamper to Lefty!
I know what you mean about the pain with your back. A similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago ,only just back on my feet now after three weeks. No previous back issues and I'm only 50 years old. So I understood the pain is horrific. I hope your feeling better soon. I found a hot water bottle gave me short them pain reliefe. Good look x
Great footage...as usual! Love watching Lefty dream! Good to see leg is cooperating somewhat. Maybe you should invest in a CB radio for your travels. All thevtruckers have them and they could communicate with you and maybe save you some heartache. Just a thought. Be safe!
Great video. I've made that trip across I-40 dozens of times and always glad to get past New Mexico. And, no Clines Corner has ALWAYS been a crap stop!!
Hi David n lefty, I just wanted to say hi. I take 40 all the way across to 81 N 78e.. traveling to Jersey. Just be kind to yourself/ right side... blessed travels n stay well.
Stay safe my friend that's a long ways to travel. I know what you're talking about getting on the road before first light very peaceful time to drive. Enjoyed your video will definitely be following along 🇺🇲
My grandma always said that if you found the dollar or any kind of money things are looking up so hopefully you'll get feeling better where you can move around
Yep, been to Klines Corners and the Bowlin's Flying C Ranch. Use to live outside of Durango Colorado. Traveled I-40 all the time to Oklahoma to visit my kids. Sonic is pretty good, check out Braums Ice Cream stores. Great ice cream. They are an Oklahoma based stores.
Good to see that you're feeling a little bit better it just takes time and being nice now you know what the issue is hopefully you can keep it from being so severe the next time give Lefty a back scratch for me and we'll see you on your next one
Anytime you cut through Ohio - you're welcome to park in front of our house. I am in the process of replacing fence for the backyard so our dog can run but it would be a good place for Lefty to do Zoomies. Safe
9:04 if that graffiti abandoned gas station was about 14 miles before Albuquerque, it was the scene of a robbery that went bad. Employees were 187d by the robbers. I'm glad you got thru NM (my home state) unscathed. At this time, our state has a very dark cloud over it. AZ to NM I-40 Is my fav stretch of road when driving to CA or LV, NV. Such a pretty route and plenty of good gas stops along the way.. Thanks for bringing us along! Safe travels to you & Left. Daylin & Mom must be so excited to see you soon!🌹🐾☺
I'm not sure Kim, locations get blurry after days of driving nut it's possible that's where we were. That stretch does have amazing scenery and mesas :)
In my working days I recall doing about 600 miles a day. The clock was ticking as soon as I got off work and I wanted to cover as much ground to get out west to the mountains and desert. Now retired, last year I did two days of about 580 miles on my way home. I had that case of get-home-itus. Even then those were long days. I don't have a dog but I need to stop every 1-3 hours just to stretch if anything. When leaving on a trip now I tend to do 350-500 days until I reach the mountains. I've found west of Missouri, where I live, the two lanes can be much more enjoyable than the interstate. Next time you go west Highway 36 across northern MO is four lane and much more enjoyable than I 70. My older brother takes it over near KC and then two lane down towards Tucumcari where he joins the interstate.
New viewer here. I have been enjoying your videos. Lefty is such a sweetheart. Dogs are definitely our best friends. Thank you for sharing your life on the road. Take care be safe and happy travels. Head pats and belly rubs to Lefty :)
Hi Lefty and David. I glad David is doing good ☺️. Back trouble is no fun. Thanks for bringing us along. As Ambassadors go you and David are great. Question for David. Will you be doing a live feed in near future? I've never been part of one. Thanks David. Jerry Alsup Eagle Point Oregon. Stay safe and thrive on.
Hi David. I'm trying to get my rig ready for camping. I want to check your back web shows to see about diesel heaters, and your water system. I hope your trip continues to go well. Jerry
Was kind of tough watching this one friend. Knowing your driving into a diesel shortage / possible rationing shortage. I hear east coast is hit hardest. Good Lucky and Safe Travels

Sonic is the best 🍔🥤
Lefty looks so comfortable sleeping on that pillow in the front seat. I love how you think of him when traveling and where he would like to stop. You're such a good dad.
Comfort food and road trips go hand in hand. Thanks for the video. I enjoy watching travel days.

Just catching up on your trip. Hoping for your full recovery with your back. Love to Lefty!

Well hello again you two! I am still bragging to all my friends that I saw you going down the freeway haha!
It's a small world on the road :)
Sonic has awesome pretzels. Lol. So glad you got your burger. I'm also glad your hurting so bad anymore.
Hey Dave and Lefty. When we do long days on the road, my Buddy (the wonder hound) puts his nose to the ground first thing, makes me think of the world of smell he lives in. Two hours down the road and it's a whole different world.
Right! When we stop, I have to wait for him to sniff before we get to walk around!!
Sciatica is no joke!
Your early morning driving footage was incredible - beautiful.
I've been wondering how you and Lefty were doing since you've been injured. Thanks for checking in with the video and glad you're seeing less in the way of pain. Safe travels!
Ahhh David “up Chuck”just reminded me of garbage pail cards from the 80s
Remember those!! Good memory :)
Heal quickly my friend. Stay safe
Clines was the best stop on old 66 back in the 60’s was a turn point for me to go north to Colorado
I imagine that it used to be a good stop... back in the day :)
STAY SAFE AND THRIVE ON, my brother from another coast. My New York always be at your back with Oregon in the future.

I used to work in at a Sonic in Oklahoma, YEARS AGO! They have the best Cherry Limeade!

Some of those Texas roadside parks can be nice. I've slept at a number of them in my ambulance.

We were averaging just under 14mpg. It was a good route with not a lot of climbs.
Dave, consider a C.B. Radio and place your call sign on back of your rig. Old time truck drivers will let you know of any problems and have fun.
That's a good idea
Maybe some type of Lumbar support would help your back on those long drive ? Just a thought , take care David and Lefty.
