It's a rarish Pearl Cabriolet guys , basically an open Ruby Saloon and lovely it is too .Remember this has a 4-speed synchromesh gearbox, unlike the ' 28 ' Top Hat ' you drove , and as ' advanced ' as the Seven got although the last from 1938 had rear Girling rod brakes which were very efficient .The 17 year old was Stanley Edge .Brilliant video and narration , great ambassadors purveying the pleasure of owning a car like this !.
My grandfathers pride and joy 1937 Austin 7 has been sitting in my fathers garage since 1983. It’s in fair shape, completely original. I am in the process of trying to get it going. Hopefully i can find some good recourses online for fluids and parts. It’s a beautiful car
Yes indeedy, l had a 1936 Austin ruby as my daily driver to school etc in 1967-8 in Wanganui New Zealand. My first car, many good memories. Thanks for the video.
Loved to see that old Lady out enjoying the sunlight and your sympathetic driving of her after all she is a older person there are many Pearls 7s for sale much cheaper than that one though in similar condition Loved the video thanks Guys.
Hey guys, I’ve just discovered your channel and my dad and I have spent all afternoon looking over your videos. Well done, great stuff. But why no newer videos. I know there’s not been a million views yet, but you’re both very natural and a great team and for sure success will come in time. Have you any plans to do more videos?
Thank you! Lovely to hear!! Nothing planned at the moment as we are both busy with new endeavours, but we aren’t over yet! Just a shift in scene for now👍🏻
Beautiful car! I love that we get to see the progression of the Austin 7 series. Any chance we can get an engine tour? And perhaps watch you guys deal with modern traffic for a coffee run?
Trivia 2:13 in queensland australia it's against the law to drive with your elbow outside the window and if your passenger has there elbow outside you can also get fined.. keep the uploads coming.
Hi Guys. I love the channel. I think that Lotus used Ford 8/10 parts for the Lotus 7, or did they use both? I know the engin was the 1172cc Ford 10hp flat top, some were highly modified.
They simplified all the interior colour choices to Beige/Tan/Brown, Gray, & Black as a cost saving measure in both manufacturing materials and dealer losses due to undesirable colour combos. I too greatly miss interiors that compliment the colour of the car. Some kind of monster painted the red dash in my truck with tan dashboard paint to match the seats they put in it. It feels out of place with the red door cards and carpeting.
So nice to see 2 millenials appreciating something old and not ridiculing it- thanks guys !
I don't even think they're millennial I think they're gen z but I agree!

Thank you Paul! We are loving everyday and very thankful for the opportunities people are giving us!
Ruby also has a sliding roof .so you get some of the advantages but not quite as open to the air as the pearl

I always advise to use the hand brake as the main brake and the foot pedal as an extra I find my car will stop when I want with that tequnique

No demo is complete without an inspection of the engine and maybe even the chassis.
