    Thanks for the quick video. And for all those commenting about germs on stuffed animals, uh, there are germs on everything in this world, including new items as well. We live in a world of germs. It is up to the buyer to spray it down with Lysol. Stop hating on people trying to help recycle and give helpful information.

      I have used a variety of strategies that stated to help me earn money on the web within hours but none of them actually did the trick. The good news is, my pal informed me about this money-making strategy at *MyOnlineSelling. Com* . I`m now a day-to-day earner of over hundred dollars! by selling prodcuts on ebay and amazon

    To "E" and all those haters. WAKE UP!! she is recycling items that have came from China 1 time already,why not buy it used and save some money and for those who have never have had $14.33 cents in the bank account? then I say to them ,that this is AMERICA and all of YOU have a opportunity to be just as creative to make more money and feed your family. I collected aluminum windows from demolition sites all over my county for 1 year and made enough money to take my family on vacation. I praise this person for her tips and her success for a better life. These lessons of entrepreneurship are not taught in our middle schools and I can tell you that in Japan, business marketing is studied by the age of 12 years old. I worked for a man from Korea when I was 16 and he said you can be rich in America just by selling to everyone that has 5.00 in their pocket. His start up was 5K and 2 yrs later he sold his chain of stores for 2.5 million and all the products were under $5.00 ... lesson to be learned for all those who think it is not possible. FYi a very popular charity thrift store in my state made over 11.5 millions with 18 locations of just selling used products and I am sure the charity donation was just over the required minimum and the top of food chain admin salaries were fantastic! I PRAISE YOU " Hooked on Pickin'

    Whilst we all know plenty of people who do it, advertising the fact that you are reselling from charity stores is one of the main reasons why they have started pricing their wares out of the reach of the people they were intended for. It is such a shame, to me, to see these stores forget who they're there to service by marking their prices so high that most people who NEED to shop there can no longer afford to. I don't know about the U.S, but that's how it's become here in Australia.

      I agree with you 100%. Also, I have found in thrift stores & even yard/garage sales, that there are a lot items which you can buy cheaper brand new at a regular store. I think that is really bad when you can buy an item cheaper new at a regular store then at a "thrift" store or garage sale. Because of that, and them trying to sell things at prices that is way too much-- I rarely go to thrift stores & yard sales anymore!!

    • @rbccstmrtn
      @rbccstmrtn 5 років тому +9

      I've shopped in thrift stores all over the United States (I love thrift) and also volunteered in one in my home state for a couple months. Just the ability to look on Ebay or Amazon for prices has given thrift stores a better handle on how to price things, but they still price them at much less than you'd get on either of those sites. I find that the stores here are doing it to make cash for profit or toward non-profit programing. The goal isn't to make the merchandise "affordable" -- though it does tend to be very affordable. Please consider that these buying-selling strategies as noted in the video can well constitute "work" for many lower-income people, especially disabled people, who can't work a 9-5 job. Also it's a great job for stay-at-home mom's who need a little extra cash to support the household. When I did some of this myself, I found MUCH better sourcing prices at garage sales than at thrift stores. I didn't do this for long; it was more of a onesy-twosy hobby when I "happened upon" something I had a gut feeling about. If it was of extraordinary value, I informed the seller because I don't like to take advantage; plus I take pleasure in helping others and sharing *golden* secrets over going through the trouble of making a few extra bucks.

      She's selling stuffed animals, board games and books... (There is an abundance of books due to 1/2 the country going digital and I would not consider old board games "essential"...) So, she's not really reselling essential things like basic clothes... which where I live, there is no shortage of (it's kind of embarassing the excess that the US has) clothing... our local thrift store puts more things directly in a dumpster out back then they do on their racks! AND they won't let you touch anything that they threw away! That's sad.

      Same happening in some towns in UK, Found out that they send to rag sorters instead of selling a bit cheaper. One charity shop here used to have a discounted rail and you could pick up some good items, they were things that had been in the store for some time, head office told the assistants to take it down and send to rag collection if not sold in 3 months rather than discount!

    you can bid on auctions at shopgoodwill and resell those items. By searching for good quality guitar brands, I find donated good guitars for $20-60 and can resell then in eBay for $90-160 with no real trouble. Barely used Nike or ASICS athletic shoes and other clothing items are there as well. If you do not have false pride about wearing used clothing, you can save a lot on sweaters, etc.

    Sad to see the comments about " expensive charity store prices". I volunteer in a charity shop, and the demand for the services we provide to our local community just keeps increasing alarmingly. Many people choose not to learn how the money raised is allocated and how those clothes/ shoes/ homewares ' appear' in the store. Volunteers sort out the 'good, bad and just plain ugly' and clean, mark and display the items instore. What you don't see is the mountains of totally unusable, dirty or broken items of 'donated' goods....stuff most sensible people would discard of themselves :(. Here in Australia ( Elysia), we pay a fortune to dump the mountain of rubbish left in our bins. Our money ( unlike BigW, Kmart, or whoever else you care to name) goes back to support our needy in our community. We have crisis centres, ( male and female)..a food van providing meals to the homeless and disadvantaged, no-one is turned away from receiving support ( food and clothing). While people take advantage of our prices on-selling, I'm just grateful they bought from our store so we can do our "job'. Want to learn more?.....try volunteering !

    I always gave to Goodwill. Years ago they used to collect non-working items then teach disabled men how to repair them: thus giving them a skill as well as supporting the company and helping needy ppl. Then I discovered volunteers grabbing the good items for themselves before processing them into the store. What to make of that?🙎

    You might get $50 for that Mickey but your not going to sell it very quickly. It's something a specific person will pay that much for so it will take time for that person to find it for sale! Board games sell pretty well but only for cheap so you would have to get it at the thrift store very cheap to be able to sell it for really cheap. Same thing goes for puzzles! Things that sell great are kids items like movies, toys, name brand clothes & shoes, furniture an appliances. You have to get an amazing deal though to be able to resell them at a great price that would make them sell quickly! I didn't agree with a thing this lady said. I sell a lot of stuff on Facebook (I don't buy to resell though) and I have a lot of success with it more so then others around me have but that's because I sell quality stuff for great prices!

    • @1953childstar

      You are correct.. Plus they are easily damaged in transit. The best items to sell are working sewing machines and their attachments. Retro kitchen appliances/ vacuum cleaners that are clean and working are other good sellers. If you take the time to clean and polish your items, they do not appear to be an item that you simply picked up a a flea market and placed on ebay...

    • @1953childstar
      @1953childstar 6 років тому +2

      I sell on ebay everyday and people expect "almost free delivery"... It's a fact, the ebay sellers who "jack up the price" and charge "free delivery" are the most proficient sellers, but that is a dangerous game- your goods can sit for ages unsold...I am a "top ebay seller" and " know the score"...

    • @1953childstar
      @1953childstar 6 років тому +1

      I agree, some ebay sellers charge a "fixed rate" because they cannot comprehend ( or are too lazy ) the fact they need to weigh the items they list and in that manner the shipping is calculated for them by ebay. Many of these "characters" should not be sellers. I worked for Neiman Marcus and Sak's Fifth Avenue and fought with management for "Free shipping", especially since 20 years ago I was sending out hundreds of dollars worth of "Designer Goods"... It was not uncommon for to make a 1500,00 telephone sale ( I called my clients )...

    Buying and reselling from thrift stores to make a profit seems really unfair and greedy . There is a real reason some people shop at thrift stores. Bragging about how much money you can make from excellent bargains you find there definitely defeats the purpose of the stores. Perhaps you should consider some discretion in your videos .
