I didnt think this was going to be very good but i was pleasantly suprised!!Carrie killed it!!Like someone else said,i like the idea of different artists from different eras and genre's playing and singing together.That was pretty good!!
Carrie know this song so well, which is why Carrie fits in so well. Plus Carrie has the vocal power that is required for it. If you notice G&R female backup singer was surprised Carrie could go that high.

Axl was paying Carrie for his appearance at Stagecoach festival which a country festival, and Axl gained fans from it. So, Axl allowed Carrie to perform with G&R.

This happened because Carrie was in London promoting her album and G&R were doing this concert and Axl asked Carrie to come and of course Carrie said yes. This wasn't scheduled before hand. Axl team with Carrie at Stagecoach in California, which country festival, the crowd was both surprised and delighted Carrie invited Axl to sing with her. And Carrie answered a question. Did Axl approve of Carrie singing Paradise City. And Axl gave his answer, a resounding yes.
Carrie was the perfect choice, she's a force and could have done the whole G&R gig on her own I reckon.
She done all the uk dates because all rose even admitted he couldn't hit certain notes in some songs

Carrie did BOTH London dates on this tour and it was because she happened to be in London, she was invited to the show and Axl had vocal issues. This was the first night of 2 which they played. I’ve not heard of any more appearances in the UK on this tour with her.
I thought they were brilliant, some sound issues but I was well impressed how powerful Axl's voice still is and how tight they were I did not feel like I was watching an old version of GnR just a quality authentic GnR . Amazing stadium and a memory I will cherish forever ❤️

The difference is Axl is a legend, she is nice, but to have a history similar to Axl back to Hell House times, the type of struggle that forges authenticity, it's a long way and just few would endure such thing, people came most for that as well: see live history!!

When they came to Hawaii i spoke to Richard he said theres soany other musicians that wanna do guest spots hes never seen anything like it before. Axl extends invitations but to a rare seldom few each 1 accepted. Those artists were gonna shock people. I guess Carrie was 1 of those unless Carrie offered 1st at Stagecoach and as Axl said it was so much fun he wanted to do again? Either way 14 years ago in Mchigan she did and awesome guitar vocals only November Rain and SCOM so she is a big fan. Carrie has come a long long way from the shy dorky A.I. contestant. Man if she ever decided to go an Evanescence'ish type direction she would hammer Amy Lee. 1 can only hope....

The only person who was caught off-guard of G&R was the backup singer. She was stun when Carrie did that quick, power burst, Carrie did it three different times. No, Carrie was trying to embarrass the backup singer, she didn't know Carrie could do that. This was first time, Carrie perform with G&R. Axl gave Carrie her dream come true.

I'd pay to see GnR fronted by Carrie, and feature Axl on the songs he can still do. She has the energy of 90s Axl. He just can't hit those high notes anymore. Band still sounds great.
I saw them in Germany, and while it was a great show, Axl just can't meet the high bar he set 25+ years ago (not his fault, that's aging for you).

Axle's voice is much better recently. Maybe for the last decade he'd been worried
to add the 'strained' element to the voice timbre. Now he's in his 60's or approaching
he figured he's got nothing to lose, might as well trash his voice. To me this last tour
he is cutting a very respectable version of his younger self. The drums are too digital as are
the screen graphics. No need for all that phoney cheap imagery. But the energy and voice are good.
They almost feel like
the soundtrack to Armageddon. The songcraft and instrumentation is great Slash will probably
never lose his chops cause he doesn't take long breaks from playing. Duff keeping it all together.
Agree....the drummer is awful,ruined it.
Also, people say that Slash looked upset that Carrie was doing this. Well, Slash didn't approve of it. Carrie won't have done it. Carrie has too much respect for G&R as a whole.

The sound on this recording is rubbish. It was absolutely amazing live axl's voice was on top form. This recording does not do it justice.

I used to be a big GnR fan in my youth, but nowadays I think I'll pass, and listen to either the old albums or to Slash's collaboration work with Myles Kennedy. Because that's quality, and a guy whose voice is perfect for GnR songs, and who has taken care of himself and his voice. Axl, however, is a wreck.
