Just based on Mike's recent training footage, if Mike were allowed by the contract to actually try, Jake would get decapitated.
Have you ever heard the saying “pads don’t hit back”? Fighting is very different from mitwork and at 57/58 years old it’s gonna be very difficult for Mike to be able to get in good enough shape to fight 10 hard rounds, especially against a young athletic guy in his prime like Jake. Sure Jake skill wise is nowhere close to Tyson, but he’s got legs, he can run, he can grab, and when Tyson gets tired, he can hit him HARD. Just the reality of the situation unfortunately

I would love nothing more than to see Mike knock JP out but padwork is 1 thing and the fight is another. Sparring is the real work to see where you're at. The 3 biggest things lost with age are reaction time, stamina/endurance and will to push on or fighting guts. Something tells me Jake and his camp are very well aware of what Mike could do and the consequences to his brand/image if Mike KO's him. They might put some bullshit ass clauses in there to prevent that from happening..I hope they don't..

funny story. Me and my brother got into martial arts early in our lives and started competing with each other but we never knew why other than to improve by having to one up each other every time. One day me and him were sparring with 12 ounce gloves and when we both felt bored we decided to remove them. We couldnt really do much at first because of how much each punch could hurt. But we decided to not pull back and ended up going toe to toe and hitting each other till one guy was knocked out. The fight ended when my mom came outside and saw us pumelling each other. We were both very injured and my bro couldnt see for a week because his eye was closed from the bruises while I couldnt breath in properly due to the sheer number of punches I got to the body from him. We hated and blamed each other for that incident and didnt talk for a whole month after it until my dad had us both sit with each other and asked what were we competing for? I said strongest brother and my bro said strongest fighter. My dad instead said how about we make the title "protector of the family" (sounds much cooler in arabic). We both were surprised that we didnt think about such an idea being in the field of martial arts for 10 years. We ended up fighting and training for the sole purpose of protecting the family and me and my brother could not have been happier ever since. The difference between us and the pauLs is that we werent competing to put each other down and prove dominance but to push each other up and the second we didnt see it that way and wanted to push each others honor under our own, we hurt each other so bad we almost never fixed our relationship.
