When I was 14 I showed up for muay thai with a gatorade. It made me feel terrible. The sugar rush was making me feel sick. I never drank a sport drink when doing high intensity sports again. I don't get how people don't get that anything besides water (unless you are doing a triathlon, a coke might helpa toward the end) is bad when exercising.

We have Powerade in Germany and I can only recommend drinking it over Prime/Gatorade. Its also way healthier here so idk how bad they are in the USA, but here in Germany I never met anyone like them.

Nobody is talking about the idea of prime as a hydration drink. This doesnt work. It has less salt then the competition which is bad and zero sugar which is not very good. You need salt to hold the water in your system and sugar to get all the electrolytes fast.

My brother brought me a prime which I drank and immediately felt like how I felt after drinking way to many energy drinks in a day. I hated life for the rest of that day and part of the next.
Gatorade never had an issue with being a hydration drink. The issue was it has alot sugar and for the normal person it adds to weight gain. If you are a high level athlete you need that sugar. The only difference with new Gatorade is the sugar content, the hydration formula is the same. The problem with prime is the amount of electrolytes. You lose a certain percentage of each type of electrolytes when you sweat. Prime has very little of the ones you lose the most of and a ton of the electrolytes you barely need leading to electrolyte imbalance which can be dangerous. Along with all the chemicals.

Prime is just Body Armor for kids. That’s it. It really isn’t very good, it’s way too sweet, and I have never felt especially hydrated from drinking it.
