Une "R14" c'est mythique ! "La poire qui a la pêche" c'était le slogan 🍐 🍑 j'espère que tu avais des autocollants de boîte de nuit et de radio fm dessus🤩
My GOODNESS. When you are a good music fan.... You can not stop to dance. This is like.....:"Hey everybody....get up out your seats. Haley ,haley people, GROOVE INTO THE BEAT......". MY GOSH..... NOTHING MORE JOYFULL. PEACE ❤❤
I remember recording this tune back in 83 onto a TDk tape from a pirate radio station in the middle of the night. It was a real funky fresh tune then just as it is still today, lov it ;-).
Et dire que ce chanteur a fini quasi SDF dans les rues de new york. Nombreux sont ces artistes funk qui ont sorti 1 maxi d'excellente facture et qui sont tombés dans l'anonymat voire la misère, drogue derrière.
THIS WAS THE ONE ON THE DANCEFLOOR GEMS BACK IN THE OLD DAYS !!! GET ON UP !!! EVERYBODY GET ON UP !!! THESE BAD TUNE VIBES HAVE GONE TODAY !!! THEY DON'TEVEN MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE !!! IF THEY DID THEN EVERYBODY WOULD GET UP LIKE THEY USED TO !!!
Remember this track so, so well. It was first released in 1983 and hugely popular on the Jazzfunk and Soul scene in London, The Home Counties and I am sure elsewhere in the UK as well.
Easter Weekend has just started for me . UK Covid restrictions naturally . Bose speaker set high . Rediscovering some lost classics tonight . Absolute top of the tree at my flat in around real early 80`s era. Great memories and great post Simon Ambler .
Used to listen to this (and so many other great tracks) every weekend while getting ready to go out clubbing, or down the pub then on to a party - such wonderful memories ... Who'd be a teenager now - not me.
Never heard this track before....tuuuuuune ... but ... just by the style of music , it had to be 80s classic ... 23 then 😩... come on everybody get on up !!! ... and listen to Retro Soul Radio London ...everyday they play these classic soul and dance tracks ......🥳party on 😜
This track reminds me so much of the hot summer of 1983 here in the North East of England. Myself & the lads used to go into Newcastle on a Friday night to bars such as Sloanes, Legends, The Eldon & then venture to Julie’s on the Quayside or Walkers and I would hear this song in all the mentioned above. The girls back then had no fish lips, squirrel tail eyelashes, that strange bright orange colour & the majority had waistlines, sadly not what we have today, most seem to have plenty stamps on their Greggs loyalty card. Saturday would take us to Whitley Bay where again I hear this song in the Compass Club, Olive Grove, Rio’s, Dunes & Churchills, such happy times. The girls at Whitley had the edge on the Newcastle ones & touch more refined, you had to work that bit harder to hide the sausage.
A’way the Lads ... great time with the Geordie Boys and of cause us Brummies as well !!! 😜Only difference was we were in Minehead Butlins ... for 7 month long party ....we were only dishwashers but !!!!!🤣...and the girls ....exactly as you said ... funny at our age now we can see how life was then .. simple , everyone out for a beer AND most importantly.. we were ALL one .... no matter where we were from ... Any one got a time machine🤔
Oh yes, brunel rooms amphitheatre.swindon paul Lewis, great days and also sandy Martin my best years and will never forget it.bring back them days for me didn't worry about fight as everyone was just happy dancing and enjoying themselves not like now.still I have the memories, which will never go,my dancing days.💃💃💃💃💃
I used to listen to this at my Youth Club in Enfield North London. DJ was my mate Mitch Kenny up Bogie Hall run by Silvie Moon. We had lager in our youth club 😱
Party days of my first year at College. Forever 19 I say. What an awesome period in my life. Thanks for the upload. Been looking for this tune for a while now.

The Cappricio remake is actually sampled from two classics. This one for the vocals and the hook taken from "K-Jee" by the Nite-Liters (MFSB) which was heard on "Saturday Night Fever".
Je l'écoutais en boucle dans ma Renault 14 sur Aix-en-Provence dans les années 80 !! Evidemment en baissant toutes les vitres...
