One of my favorite songs, I learned this years ago , it was difficult , I think there’s 15 different chord changes in it , this is much better especially if you're going to be singing it live or on your couch 👍
So I was listening to this song and comparing it to not only the original, but to what I hear in my head. The final chord before the chorus is not an e7. I picked each individual note starting from the 6th bass E and made a chord with it, and looked up actual chords and what it actually is, is a BbM7b5 (B Flat Minor 7 Flat 5). In addition and contrast to the many other variations that would make this song more complicated to play for those learning, this one stands alone and is easy to play. it makes a difference. Brian rarely ever played straight basic chords, especially on this song. Call it a good ear, call me a PITA, either way, hopefully this will help those of you who want to capture the original intent within the spirit of the song.
