  • Not sure how to go about removing your headlining in your Troopy? Car Builders walks you through the steps in removing and replacing the headliner in the roof of your Landcruiser Troopcarrier.
The Troopy's are renouned for being noisy and putting sound deadening sheets in the roof makes a significant difference. You may also want to access the roof to treat it for heat.
Any of the materials used in this video can be found on the Car Builders website, www.carbuilders.com.au

What an awesome truck. I wish SUVs like this were still made in the States. Unfortunately everything has become a luxury crossover.

    Questions :
    1) If travelling in extreme cold conditions would it be best to completely seal the roof, floor and doors ?
    2) For very cold temperatures, what product could be added to the sound deadener for heat retaining insulation ?
    Thank you.

Hi Ade. Yes, you will want to add a closed cell foam throughout. A challenge with the Troopy is that the roof lining is very close to the roof. You can fit the 2mm sound deadener under it but it can be challenging to fit an insulation product due to packing.

Awesome job. Question, would the stage one cut road noise out if you double or even tripple layer it with the stage one only?

Hi Neelchand. No, it is stopping vibrations in the panels not so much external noise. For road noise etc you are best to look at the mass loaded vinyl underlays such as www.carbuilders.com.au/interior/mass-loaded-vinyl/ 👍
