MY THOUGHTS:
The Synth60 by Synthlabs is a really visually fun board. It's gasket mounted and inspired
by rack-mounted electronics and sports cars. It has a top rail ... handle... towel rack thing and some fun fins on the back of the board which definitely reminds me of a sports car. Although it strikes me as a very elegant keyboard at the same time.
UPDATE NOTE: The USB C being recessed to far is just an issue with the prototype and will be fixed according to the designer and Keebwerk!
Its gasket mounted, but doesnt featured a bottom weight so I was expecting a bit more metallic resonance, which we got. But removing the gasket under the space bar really brought the board to life and I ended up really liking it. Its a fun keyboard. It doesn't take itself too seriously and dares to be something different visually, which I respect.

keebwork goin off, can't wait till the paragon finally ships out
This may be one of the ONLY 60% boards I add to my collection due to how unique it is. Love the aesthetics of this one! Is it a limited GB or will they make as many boards as they can sell in the GB period?
I asked keebwerk and they say its limited to 250.
Cable problem was mentioned later in the stream that its a proto mistake from the pcb manuf using the wrong port in the daughterboard. That part of the stream didnt seem to have made it into this shortened edit.
I love this board, looks so good
amazing video!! i have seen that your still in to the envoy. is it that good? i kept it on mind for a lot of time. what do you think about the keeb? do you think i should i buy?
He has had it on his desk for a Long time and speaks of only good things.
@@matttimm452 ty so much much
So a T-47 airspeeder(snowspeeder) as a keyboard
I got into mechanical keyboards because of you Alex so THANK YOU!
thank you for punching a hole in your wallet, forever?
@@Antonio5559398 It's a really nice sounding hole in the wallet, tbf
would be cool to put a small rectangluar mirror under the monitor to see the back of the keyboard
omg its so cute. Reminds me of a note book. Sounds very good too :D
This board looks very nice
techdeck players gonna love this hahaha
Not really my style, but definetly an interesting design. I have a preference for more sporty designs hence my taste for small form factor keebs in the 65%/68% range. Could definitely see you maining this one for awhile though Alex 😅 you got that artsy aesthetic and pull off things I wish I had the creative intellect for.
Btw is that Sumi or Honeywell?
This board looks so good
that back fin design reminds of those old school Rockford car amplifiers, i dig it
Hey guys, i'm in the process of designing a keyboard just for personal use. Im wondering if there were any good sources of a wide variety of keyboard/case designs for inspiration? I have used reddit but I feel like there might be a better place to look I don't know about.
there are none. most of keyboard just look clean and functional. what i do was looking at luxury watch here and there or car hoping there is something that i could take from it.
@@kevinkertarahardja1836 yeah this is the problem I ran into pretty fast lol. Good suggestion for the inspiration tho.
The keyboard looks rlly good
A shredder that's also a keyboard?
Dude that keyboard is so nice. but that hoodie is HEAT
cna u pls tell me didw u join the killer65 group but (lewis toh's keyboard)
The rear looks like a rear diffuser.
I'm guessing the stab cutouts are just more expensive to properly engineer and manufacture. Also, I do really like this design visually, but I think there is a missed opportunity here to make the fins or bar part of a wireless antenna setup.
The cable setup sucks though... I'd like to see that opening chamfered so it's less of an issue.
But I still am a bit conflicted that this would likely need a force break mod even though it's $400+USD
400 dollars is a massive buy in for this board imo when the QK and Zoom series have actual addition features and functions. Spending 200 over what I think this board is really worth just because of the look. Very cool board, we need more of these in the hobby for sure, but with the customer in mind.😊
I agree but when the interest is so low for certain designs, it is going to cost more especially since the more higher price boards tend to have more involved CNC machining either due to more pieces or just the design itself is crazy. It is nice tho that the keeb hobby has grown w/ the QK/Zoom being affordable + having nice/unoffending designs.
People who buy the QK and the Zoom are looking for accessibility and value. This is not for the same customer. This is just as much art as it is a keyboard. In a world with 1000 keyboards that look the same, this is unique and complex. That's what you are paying for.
Unfortunately there is no way something with only a few units can possibly compete on price with mass production in the thousands of units, it's economies of scale that makes things affordable. If you are looking for value, this isnt it, there is usually a tradeoff between uniqueness and cost.
It’s a niche hobby
@@LateBandwagon I agree
I really respect the wack-ass aesthetic of this board, it's a great design piece but I get the impression the acoustics are just not good no matter what you build it with, much like the Saturn60. It's one of those boards that exists mostly for the design statement
early bird
board looks dope as hell but spacebar sounds average
Very interesting design but too much of a buy in for something this off the wall. Like to see different designs coming out though.
inch resting
One day these companies and designers will understand how many more boards will sell if it’s unique. Tired of normal looking 60-65% boards going for 500
