- This is a video that shows how to do problem diagnosis on a Penn Spinfiser V 7500 LC with an oscillation problem. The video shows a complete take apart of the reel and how to determine which part is failing in order to complete the repair. This reel has a unique oscillation system that is different from other Penn SpinFishers.

I have this reel enjoyed the video on this reel Dennis you do a good job 😊
Awesome, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video - Dennis
I have this reel love your video on this 😊
Thanks again
This reel reminds me of my Daiwa Emblem X 5500T Longcast reel. It also has a worm gear oscillation system. That Daiwa is just as big as this Penn and is also called a pit or carp reel. Of course my Daiwa does not have an AR clutch. I’m glad you found the problem with this Penn. I finished working on that 1961 Spinfisher 700 first edition reel a little while ago. I had a hard time getting the rotor off but after trying a number of things I finally got it off. The bearing and pinion came out easily but the bearing would not separate from the pinion. It was working very well so I just left it there and lubricated it as it was. The reel has some paint damage on the outside of the rotor but the rest of the reel is in very nice shape. The green handle on this reel is actually in a little better condition than my other reel like this. On a shelf in my study I have the first Penn Spinfisher 700 greenie from 1961 and the last reel using this basic design - the 706Z. In my collection I have all the 700 reels that came after this first 700 through all the versions of the 704 greenies and ending with the black and gold 704 and 706 Z reels. It’s like being in a little Penn Spinning Reel Museum. Great diagnostic video Dennis. I look forward to your next video on this reel when you get the parts. - Chris
They are alike. This one is very solid, particularly with the metal case. This one has taken a beating, that's for sure. Good luck with the 700 and your Penn Museum
Very interesting. Thanks Dennis, I hope you have a good weekend of fishing.
Thanks, you too!
Penn Long cast and Live liner reels are my favorite reels to service and repair.
I sense a little sarcasm here! Thanks
Good tutorial on problem finding, did you make 2nd part of video for this reel
I did not have time to do the follow up service video. Sorry
I did full restore of this reel including full respray and its looking brand new again but for some reason when turning spool the handle feels heavy, i done all usually checks like clutch (which is new with new spool) cannot see the reason why.
Bravo !!!
Thanks Cons!
Well I sure lost count of all those screws. I'll need to watch it again.
This one is not an easy one!
Great videos, keep up the good work.
I have a question for you,
Will a penn 712z handle fit a penn 716z reel?
Let me know please.
Thank you
I too hate those loose roller bearings!
Me too!!!
@@2ndChanceTackle Give me a ratchet and dog any day over that
Need instructions on how to get shimano spheres 5000fa bail to work. Mine won't allow complete opening or closing. Thanks
Brett
It is probably a broken piece inside the rotor cavity where the bail arm connects. There is a plastic piece that looks like the #7 that often breaks and jams which stops the bail from opening. Remove the side cover by the bail arm and check that first - You may need to replace the part if broken - Dennis
Those channel lock pliers look extremely familiar. Were they inherited?
Hmmm - maybe!!!!!!!!! Be well!
Dennis, on one of your videos you used a long cue tip that had either wire or plastic brushes along the shaft. Please tell me the name of this cleaner and where I could find it. Thanks
Brett Roberton
A viewer sent me those and unfortunately, I don't recall the brand or where to get them. Thanks for the note. Sorry I can't point your to a source - Dennis
looks like it's caught it share of big carp, or whatever the owner was after
It has certainly
been out there fishing.
I was wondering... where this Spinfisher V was manufactured? Simplicity is definitely not in this reel.
Most of the SpinFishers are made in China these days. I assume that is where this one was manufactured
