Quite nice. I've had Kevin Leonard's Auto-Matrix for a long time, good stuff there too.
The virtuosity of the keys is incredible. Their using synths to emulate brass and woodwinds its pretty nice. Good band all around. Some fine US prog
In musical terms, when you copy a style or specifically an album, you end up doing better than the original. This further guarantees the value of the work or style you have copied. In fact, it is neither copying nor plagiarism, but it perpetuates a style that many thought was dying, but it is not. Thank God!

Genesis meets Marillion... Not bad at all.
The problem with these distinctly neo-progressive bands, like IQ, The Watch, is that they are song-centric and have few original musical compositions.

I had this on cassette a while ago. They were very Genesis sounding at times.
"We lead as we follow" sounds like "Sympathy for the Devil/We love you" by The Rolling Stones at the beginning.
I didn't know Peter Gabriel sang for North Star.

The lead voice itself isn't very much like Gabriel's, but the context (and also the vocal style) is so Genesis-like that it DOES remind of Gabriel indeed.

We did the best we could with cheap Fostex, DMT8vl hard disk recorders.
Hm. Instrumentally , the band is in good condition, and I am not reluctanr of Genesis inspired bands, but the singer, IMHO, lacks vocal "power". Gabriel in his Genesis days had a voice that could fill a room which this singer, alas, cannot, I am afraid.
