Rounded for me. Looks like something to keep for yourself. I can't imagine someone paying to have it made. Labor can easily be 200 to 300 for all the hours spent on this project.
My wife saw your video and came into the bedroom at 4 am this morning and showed me. She said you can make these. We both agree that the white wavey look is very nice
Nice work!! Those were the good ol' days. I miss American pride, and that strong feeling it gave you, when it was still ok to display the American flag in public. Keep up the good work.
GREAT job Max. I prefer the "more rounded" look. To me it looks more natural AND I do like the white, Keeps the flag more traditional. BUT your stars take a massive amount of work. For my flags, I pencil the stars on the blue and buy laser cut stars the right size and stain them all at once, then simply glue them on where the pencil marks are. Additionally by doing that, it gives the flag a bit of a 3D look. Carpe Diem! !! !!!
I appreciate that you explain a lot and show enough for me. But if I was a beginner, I think you are doing well for them as well. Keep things less boring as well for this.
I just started wood working. I have made a nightstand and 2 framed flags! Your channel and many others have inspired me to get back to my roots and create things. Tired of staring at a computer screen. I think I am going to start making videos of my work. Thanks for the inspiration Max!! 🙏🏻🇺🇸
That is awesome Chris!! Creating things with your hands gives such a good feeling and is so rewarding! Im happy to share and i wish the best for you! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
These are beautiful and your attention to detail is impressive. Very time consuming. Most people don’t appreciate what goes into this sort of work piece. Very well done sir!
Little cheat! I take my rotary saw and cut down to the bottom of my valleys so I have a depth reference when grinding. You can also go about half way up your valley walls and place other guides (shallow cuts of course)
I like both versions, colorwise ...good choice on either, depending on your decor... both are beautiful...the black frame makes the colors more bold...could stain the frame and make it more subtle for a more rustic room...definitely like the more rounded rolling effect better...tremendous job...love the video...great work!
I like the white with the rounded one. I absolutely love watching you do this. I don’t do wood work. I can appreciate that its in the tools that you use. Great job.
One thing I found out is that when you're going to do stars on the union you could try using your Frog tape to tape the stencil down to the outside edge to hold it in place.
I’ve made a bunch for gifts but for the stars I have star stickers to cover the white, paint the union blue then gently peel off the stickers and the white pops thru. I haven’t mastered the carving yet. I use the same stencil to mark three corners of the stars to know where to put the stickers. Then cover the whole thing with polyurethane spray. People love them.
Are you using 2x2s? I was using 2x4s cutting the rough wave with a bandsaw then using the same tools as you, love that grinder shaper. I know there’s a dozen ways to make them.
Wow, this video inspires me to try and make one. Even though they both are awesome, my choice would be the more rounded one. I like the white stain to. I looks a little more realistic. But man the other one in the wood color stripes is really sweet to. I’d be proud to hang either one in my house.
Freaking awesome! 🇺🇸. That rounded style of waves looks gorgeous with the white color stripes. But I also like the wood look for the white stripes. Either way, it's MERICA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️
Definitely like the rounded edges better as it looks more realistic. With the added thickness and border around these they would easily be able to be made into a concealment flag too. Nicely done.
A lot great methods here. Recommend that as you grow and continue to make these that you get a jointer and planer and use higher quality wood. Also using miters or better joints for the framing.
Wow, impressive. The shading really gives it some depth. I am thinking of making some myself. I think I would spray on the stars to save myself a lot of labor.
Nice work!! I do prefer the rounded and white as well. This will definitely be on my, to attempt, list for sure. Hopefully when wood prices go down of course🙄😀. Great job again
The white stain really made the blue pop. I also like the rounded wave look. The black trim frame really finishes it off nicely. Good job young man.

White stain shows quality my opinion. French cleat is super easy to make and easier to hang.
If you burn the back, it might correct some of that bow at the end. Burning it removes moisture so burning on only one side forces a bow.
Thats a good point, thank you!
These are beautiful and your attention to detail is impressive. Very time consuming. Most people don’t appreciate what goes into this sort of work piece. Very well done sir!
Thank you very much Alex I appreciate it!🙏🏼

Really nice ! Good job I like them both.

I came to try to do some Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 flags. Man, I am luckily gonna have a much easier time.
Little cheat! I take my rotary saw and cut down to the bottom of my valleys so I have a depth reference when grinding. You can also go about half way up your valley walls and place other guides (shallow cuts of course)

Outstanding! Nothing else to say! I do like the white better even though it is twice or three times the work, especially for the stars.
Boards never line up. You Sir, are an excellent communicator. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I like both colors. I prefer the rounded look.
I like the white with the rounded one. I absolutely love watching you do this. I don’t do wood work. I can appreciate that its in the tools that you use. Great job.

Max. If you decide to sell let me know. I have a son that will be 24 and he would love one of these. Thanks
Beautiful craftsmanship !!! White with soft folds is awesome !!!
Rounded white as well.
These look amazing.
One thing I found out is that when you're going to do stars on the union you could try using your Frog tape to tape the stencil down to the outside edge to hold it in place.

@@nwcricket pretty much, they are 2x4s ripped in half. A band saw would be handy!!
These are amazing! The white rounded is my favorite design ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow, this video inspires me to try and make one. Even though they both are awesome, my choice would be the more rounded one. I like the white stain to. I looks a little more realistic. But man the other one in the wood color stripes is really sweet to. I’d be proud to hang either one in my house.

Very nice flags, thanks. Had Ya tried carving out the blue field leaving the raised stars? Much more work and more reveal...
Thank you! I have not, does sound like a lot of work but the results would be super cool!
Great job and I appreciate your work on old glory.
Thank you Jimmy!
Very nicely done.
the black frame would look nice with In God We Trust engraved on the front painted in white.
I agree, thank you for the feedback!

Great job!!!!! I like the rounded wave.
Thank you Dale!!!
I’m almost done w this one- super excited 🇺🇸
Heck yea thats awesome!! I would love to see a pic when its finished!
Rounded definitely, and without frames. I think frame takes away from flag. Your flags are best I've seen.
Thanks a lot man I really appreciate it🙏🏼 and thank you for the advice and feedback!
Definitely like the rounded edges better as it looks more realistic. With the added thickness and border around these they would easily be able to be made into a concealment flag too. Nicely done.
