@@bach7617 ya know the more I'm using both cams, the more I'm liking the eos R because of the c-log 1 instead of the c-log 3 on the r6mkii... thanks for stopping by bach!
After shooting. full wedding with the R6II this week. all I can say is don't hesitate. it's the most seamless shooting experience I've ever had. Hardly missed focus throughout the entire day. Smooth as butter!
this black friday, I will be getting that Mark2.. I have the EOS R and I am not replacing it but adding another body to the gear list. If the EOS R would've had the 2 SD Card slots from the beginning, I think this camera would've been considered one of the best in its time. I will still use both but now with the dual SD card slot, I will be good. appreciate the video!!!
Since you liked the eos R I'm sure you're gonna love the r6mkii. I gave you a sub cuz I want to see what you create with it! Thanks for the comment and for stopping by 💪
i have 2 EOS R coz serve me well, yeah the R6ii or the second hand R5 is tempting, but because i shoot 1080p EOS R is more sense to me. More MP for photo, and the 1080p C-Log is still good in 2023
The R is definitely still a great option and a viable choice in 2023. Smart to hold out. I have my eyes on the R5mkii that I think is coming out early next year. I will say tho that megapixels aren't terribly important if you don't plan on cropping much and I've seen 12mp cameras that produce amazing photos printed and blown up huge
@@CharlesLucky I think the build quality of the R is a little better but really need the dual card slots of the R6II. The R6II still has great build quality bit I think the exterior on the R is metal where as the R6II is a composite with an alloy chassis. The resolution on the original R6 was a little low for me.
@@flyfunkroberto I agree with that. I wanted the r6mkii for the 4k 60fps but I like the c-log 1 from the R much better than the c-log 3 from the r6mkii
It def performed well but it was also my first time shooting in c-log3 and overexposed the r6mkii footage so there's that. Thinking of updating this vid with new clips and correct exposure
Gotta say, the highlight roll off on the R was better than the R6mkii in this test. I was SHOCKED with the results actually. Was this 10 bit vs 10 bit (external for the R, of course) - or 8 bit vs 8 bit?
The R definitely performed well. It was actually 8 bit vs 10 bit. It was also my first time shooting in c-log 3 and overexposed a couple of those clips so I wonder if that played a factor as well as UA-cam's compression 🤔 Thanks for your comment!
@@CharlesLucky - Thank you! "It was also my first time shooting in c-log 3 and overexposed a couple of those clips" - good point, it very well may have. Thanks for taking the time and posting the video and reply!
No. He just overexposed the R6 II because the R's ISO values are off by about 2/3 of a stop. The R6 II at the same ISO lets in more light. I've owned both and this is pretty common knowledge about these 2 cams. Also, the R6 II is significantly cleaner at high ISOs and also sharper - both photo and video. YC Image did a comparison of both and it's not really close at all. I can output the R6 II files to 45 MP using Adobe Camera Raw and the images generally will look as good as the R5 (even better if I use enhance upscaling). Any perceived sharpness difference was due to DOF differences, though you can see at 2:10 the R6 II when equated is much sharper. One thing I greatly disliked about the R was the high ISO noise and banding for photos. The 5D IV was actually way better in this regard despite supposedly having the same sensor.
If you go to the red menu (1st page of the menu) and scroll over to where you see "c-log", is it turned on? Also, are you shooting in manual mode and if so, what frame rate, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO are you using? Thanks for stopping by!
Great to see how well they go together. I have the R and the most reasonable future upgrade will be the R6ii and of course I will keep them both! 😊

Cool! I have the R. I'm considering getting the Mk2, but I can wait for now. Thanks!
Right on glad to have helped! I mainly upgraded for the no crop in 4k and 4k at 60fps. Gotta say I do love them both 🙌

Thanks for sharing. It's helpful to see that there only a few differences in quality if we're in a buying process.
My pleasure bro thanks for watching and stopping by 💯 now I'm thinking I should do a 1080p quality comparison...
Wow, I thought the R was B, until the wind close ups.
Yeah it def holds its own against a camera that on paper is significantly better
Same!
I Dual Shoot the R and the R6Mk2. Both great cameras
@@flyfunkroberto nice! I'm still dual shooting with these cameras too. They are solid
