    Success at LAST! Couldn't get the hang of lentil beads, then sat & devoted an hour to them with a mish-mash of horrible scrap colours, ready to mash up to use as bead core when I failed, then added some magic gold leaf ... the result was a stunning Chinesey brocade look. At last I can join in with your lentil projects :)))))

    Just beautiful ,always so beautiful. I really am doing this to make things for a very big family. And yes mostly because I believe it's a way to be creative, like a musician, painter etc. I thank you for sharing your artistic talents. Your a great teacher. 👍

    I am also binge warching LOL! These are sooo pretty, Susan! And simple, too. I know for sure that most of what makes your lentil beads so special is the beautiful "scraps" you start with ... they all come from your gorgeous canes where you've used pearl clays, skinner blends, clever color choices, and gold leaf. You should sell your scraps LOL!!!

      The scraps are my favorite part! They are little color blend treasures lol

    I am absolutely mesmerized ! I've been stringing and weaving beads x 15+ years. And to think - I could have been making my own beads.
    Thank you so much for sharing your tips and technique. You are so relaxed...not fussy at all. Gonna get me some clay and play.

      How do you keep them and how long can you keep them without baking them? How long can you keep them out do you have to cover them?

    • @TurtleSoupBeads
      @TurtleSoupBeads  6 років тому +1

      @@paulinearfmann1852 you dont have to cover them they dont dry out I have some that are 20years old they never harden unless you bake them . The beauty of this clay is you can leave for any amount of time and then just come back to it .

    I am amazed at what you do...I have played around with air dry clay and some polymer, but I am now thinking I HAVE to try MORE polymer...thank you for sharing. My air dry clay roses are good, but have to try your method! I work a lot with copper wire and gemstones, crystals etc, and think I could do more with them and polymer also...many thanks for your artistry!!

    I've never been a huge fan of lentil beads. Not that I didn't think the colors swirled together weren't pretty. Only that I didn't think they would look good on. I guess because of the shape. BUT! I absolutely LOVE all those beads you used on those bracelets !!! They're absolutely gorgeous!! I even LOVED the focal bead!! Talk about EYE CANDY! 🍬 🍬 I am definitely going to have to make some of these!!!

    I am binge watching your videos and loving all of your techniques. I want to use the lentils for my wire weaving designs instead of lamp work beads. I have been shopping online after each of your videos too. I noticed the gold leaf comes in real gold, foil, or aluminum/copper. Which do you use or does it make a difference. Thank you for another inspirational video. You taste in color and design is exquisite!

    Susan, did you ever sell your beads at the Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee? I bought a few strands of swirled lentil beads from a vendor that was at the show one year. I remember the person at the booth said she was from Michigan (“the Brighton area”). I still have a some of the beads and every time I see them, I think of you because they all have a bit of gold or silver leaf in them.

    Where do you sell your fabulous creations? I see your pieces and know that they are an investment in time and talent, but you must be able to sell them. I'm asking for advice for me and my sales. Do you sell at craft fairs or your local markets/farmer's markets? Retail partners'? I find some online platforms slow and very time consuming for sales to the point that it costs money to sell things via certain online platforms and I'd like to quit hoping for success at my current online platform and just move on to some better idea. I am constantly making things but need to sell them or go broke with my making addiction. ha ha...

    • @turtlesoupbeads751

      I used to sell thru small boutiques and bead stores online is very hard to build a presence

    • @deafinseattle1
      @deafinseattle1 6 років тому

      @@turtlesoupbeads751 I'm leaning toward retail partners, in part because shipping is costly and time consuming. Yes, it is easy to get lost in the crowd online. It's feast or famine depending on how people are driven to your products.
