  • A simple little cane that can be used so many ways just slice it into beads, layer it over scrap clay to create a bead , layer it for a pod and use it as a embellishment. You will notice I use this cane in so many of my pieces its a staple in your stash -also great to create more intricate canes with .

    I just wanted to comment on how beautiful you make things. I watch and re-watch your videos. I have not tried anything yet, kind os scared to be honest, but you make it look so easy. Thank you so very much.

    I don’t know if you’re reading comments from your older videos, but I’m binge watching your channel backwards (oldest to newest) and am in awe of how talented you are!
    The other thing that’s funny, is your voice sounds exactly like my cousin! If I didn’t know that her hands are different then yours, I’d swear it was her!! So funny how you “know” someone’s voice and then do “a double take” when you think you’re hearing it! 😊

      Welcome ! Who knows maybe im related to your cousin lol

      One of the reasons I CAN binge-watch Susan is that her voice and vocal mannerisms are so pleasant to me: clear, relaxed, enthusiastic without being too chirpy. Some YT tutors have good content, but their voices grate on me after a while.

    I lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve the colors you used in this skinner blend! I can't WAIT to go home tonight and try to mess with the polymer clays I've had forever but been to chicken to try! Totally impressed!

    I had to dig for this one again 5 years later! I loved this cane and tutorial. I did a muted red and yellow wrapped in the dark gold 5 years ago. I used it for so many things. I'm returning to the things I used to do and am including this one! Thanks for the great tutorial! I thought you wrapped this in gold leaf? I'll check the fantasy canes or beads.

    To me it looked like you could avoid part of the loss by using a slightly bigger piece of goldclay.
    Thanks for the wonderful tutorials, they are both educational and satisfying :)

    • @TurtleSoupBeads
      @TurtleSoupBeads  6 років тому +1

      Penny Venturino i really doubt that ! Dont be afraid if the color mix turns to mud you learned what doesnt work and you have bead filler , all part of the process - always remember 'Its just clay'

    Just found your channel a few days ago and am hooked. Never been into polymer clay but you are turning me, You make some wonderful stuff. Once you have made a cane how long can you keep it before it becomes unusable? Do you have to use it up before a certain time?
    Just worried that if I made quite few different ones to use on one project that I won't have time to use them all up before they become unusable.

    You have made me so excited to create my own beads. I can do so much wit the beads that i buy, but there is nothing that can compare to your own creation. I love your videos. Do you have any recommendations as to where to get the best clay, colors, etc.?

    This is awesome! Have you tried the “end caps” from Tiny Pandora? I wonder if they would help save some of the loss.

    • @TurtleSoupBeads
      @TurtleSoupBeads  6 років тому +4

      I have the end caps and they work quite well but i love the extra scrap clay more because it builds so many compatable beads for my stash

  • @CPegRun
    @CPegRun 2 роки тому

    I’m curious why you wouldn’t just add a longer piece of gold, so you wouldn’t have those “useless” ends? ( I do understand they’re not actually useless)

    If you cut and stack your color blend instead of squishing together you will avoid air bubbles

  • @tagalonggal
    @tagalonggal 5 років тому +1

    Do you use up the entire cane when you make beads,? It seems like you get a lot of beads in the same colorway during “show and tell” and I am wondering if that is a good idea of how far a cane will go?

    • @turtlesoupbeads751
      @turtlesoupbeads751 5 років тому

      I use most of it for beads but I keep just some small pieces for decorating other beads so to answer your question yes I used up all of the canes

    Hi, when adding gems do I put them in the clay before or after baking?

    • @TurtleSoupBeads
      @TurtleSoupBeads  5 років тому +2

      I put them in before but I only use crystal or glass rhinestones I actually have a tutorial on how I do it it's called rhinestone pods
