that looks like its in pretty nice condition. i recently found a type 30 bayonet similar to this at a garage sale in the mountains for 10 bucks....of course it was alot more rusty and beat up, but i found out it had the mukden mint from manchuria while it was under japanese control, so its alot rarer than i had thought i might post a video about it in a week or so
Is it still sharp? Also I have heard so much about these Japanese bayonets being insanely good at edge holding and tough... I don't know if it's just a legend...
Hey five99Mike, The bayonets are not as common as I thought. Have you considered donating the bayonet to the WWII museum in New Orleans? You could donate it in the name of your father.
@koolaidria480 Can you send a photo? criddle777@aol.com I have never heard of a serial number of the Japanese bayonet. I have seen symbols, but not numbers.
Great story of the Type 99 reunion with the Type 30. Nice piece of history, THX for the vid

Good video with a story. I have a type 30 with it's button stuck, any idea how to get it functioning properly? Thanks.
at Clarence, spray some penetrating oil on the button and wait a couple days, barley tap it with a brass hammer. If not repeat step 1 and be patient.
明治30年に正式採用だから、30年式銃剣です。

@AUG351 Cool. I bet it was a horrible sight to see the charge with those bayonets.
I have one in what I would say is good condition. It has the Toyada tool mark. Anyone know what it is worth?
value or what they go for??
Saya punya yang buatan Kokura Arsenal.......ex milik Tentara Pelajar masih terawat dengan baik.

We donated the Cavalry sword 12 years ago and they never displayed it, despite having none. They have these already on display.

No serial numbers on bayonets, unlike the swords.
