i absolutely love your style! that white venus flare dress is perfection.
petitepearstyle You are the sweetest! Than you lovely x
One of few capsule wardrobes that's not boring.
+Ariyal sirrah Wow that's really sweet of you! I'm actually posting my Autumn 2016 capsule this Friday so keep an eye out if it's something that you're interested in x
What gorgeous clothes and I love how you put so much thought into how they work together. Love the video !
Thank you so much - so glad you enjoyed the video. Finding the right pieces to make a cohesive capsule is probably the toughest part!
Love your wardrobe, especially the skirts! ♥ And everything looks fantastic on you!
all those pieces will look great together. it's really so satisfying to open your wardrobe and know that you love everything and you can pull out just about anything and it will work. i don't think you should worry about feeling restricted. i've had the same 30ish pieces in my wardrobe for nearly five months and it's been great. after around three months i started to have brief phases of feeling a bit uninspired but it generally passes. i am looking forward to swapping in some cooler weather pieces soon but overall project 333 has been really good and there's no way i want to go back to shopping all the time without intention.
I totally agree, not to mention that it makes getting ready in the morning so much easier. I've also noticed that since I've started doing the French five piece wardrobe challenge, and while planning for Project 333, that I've been less inclined to go out shopping just to add things or buy something for the sake of it. I think my only qualm is that I have a lot of pieces in my wardrobe that I love, and that I would probably wear otherwise.
One thing I've realised with moving though, is just HOW MUCH stuff I actually own - it's scary. I brought back a suitcase of some of mums things from NZ too so that's added to the clutter just a little bit. I think I'm going to do a small clearout on eBay soon just to make up for it
Yes, when I did a massive clear out of our house last year I kept thinking about how I didn't want to have to move all the same unused crap again into a new house! For example, I'd lugged some upholstery fabric to four different homes over the space of at least 7 years. So cray.
sonyafby Ah exactly - that's what I'd like to avoid so I'm trying to nip it in the bud early by getting rid of things as I realise I don't need them.
Lovely capsule! You have beautiful pieces to work with! :)
Thank you so much lovely! x
Fantastic wardrobe and capsule collection! Thanks for showing us xo
Thank you so much for watching! Glad that you enjoyed it x
I just discovered your channel and blog, and are currently binge watching /reading everything. I love your style and reasoning on clothes /investment pices. It's so nice to see someone incorporate office work into the capsule wardrobe (and some colours as well). Thanks for all the inspiration, I have a feeling I will clear out quite a lot from my closet in near future, even though I'm not quite ready to go all capsule/project 333.
+Anette Knudsen That is so lovely, thank you!! I think there's a misconception that it's almost impossible to have only 30 items if you work in a corporate office, but honestly, I would just cycle my pieces around, no one notices and you get to wear what you love all the time :)
Just discovered your channel and I love it. I think your capsule is proof that it's fine to go high street, but that great design is so worth spending on!
***** Hi Astrid, I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos! I'm a huge believer in quality over quantity, which probably shows in the items I buy. It certainly takes time though - my Helmut Lang blazer I've had going on four years now and wear it so often! It's always great to find like minded individuals though. Please let me know if there are any particular topics you would like me to focus on in future as I'm always open to ideas! x
I have to stop binge-buying the cheap stuff from Zara! I should invest my money on fewer quality pieces. Your wardrobe is PERFECTION for me (even if I can't get away with wearing a skirt without tights most of the days here in Italy). Love all your Karen Walker pieces and that Helmut Lang blazer is to die for. My next investment will be either a pair of Tod's Gommino (moccasins/loafers) or the Varina flats by Salvatore Ferragamo.
vale m I truly think there's a secret (or just skill) to finding gems in Zara and unfortunately I don't seem to have it so whenever I'm in there, I can never spot anything good. In saying that, I do have to admit that there are some quality pieces you can get from Zara but you do have to be selective.
Aw thank you - that's so sweet of you to say. I definitely have my off days where I want overhaul my whole wardrobe.
Those two pairs of shoes are such good staples - do you know what colour you'll go for? x
+Jaime-Lee yes, I think Zara blazers are good quality but at the same time their sweaters are just awful quality. They can look good far away but up close they really aren't. The jeans become baggy after 3/4 wash but no one ever says that. They are always "aaaawww they look really good. Awesome quality!" Amd I am always:"What?!?!?". I don't want to talk about Zara shoes because I can get quite upset. Ahah!
For the shoes, I have two colours to choose for both of them. For the SF ones black or nude, for the Tod's ones pastel pink or red. I can't decide yet!
vale m I've never owned Zara jeans, although I did have a blazer which was gorgeous but the stitching on the shoulder seams came undone after about 10 wears which wasn't great. I had to do a stitch over top to keep the sleeve on!
How did you go with the shoes? Did you buy a pair yet? x
+Jamie-Lee That's a bummer!
For the shoes, not yet. I think I will have to wait until my birthday on June the 15th. I have not decided which one to get yet! They are both beautiful shoes...I should go to the SF's store in Milan to try them on!
I love your videos! And style x
Thank you - so glad that you're enjoying them :)
Lovely capsule - don't forget to show us some outfits of the day please! 😊
I will! I'm planning on doing hopefully one 'lookbook' style video per month while I do this challenge just to share a few of the outfits that I've been wearing. I'll probably also post a few on my blog too (mademois-elle.com). x
Wow!!! You have a terrific stylish and unusual wardrobe! All things tasteful! You look amazing :) P. S. I'm from Russia, probably wrote something wrong. Thanks for the great video!
Olik Krolik Thank you Olik!! You are so sweet. Really glad you enjoyed this video :)
You remind me of Celine Dion. Your style is awesome!
I like your ruffle strip shirt!
Yang Hyoni Thank you! x
I love, love, love your wardrobe! Is it possible to get some more styling videos? The way you put pieces together is so refreshing. And how about giving us a peek into your new place? I'm sure it is just as amazing. I can tell you now...I'm absolutely obsessed! Also, how does one follow your blog?
Sophia Williams Hi Sophia, absolutely! I'm hoping to film another lookbook video this weekend (with close ups this time); although if there are any specific style type videos you're after, please let me know :)
We're still in the process of fully furnishing our place - the joys of moving and also organising a wedding at the same time! - however I am planning to share a peek of our place on the blog in the next couple of weeks.
To follow my blog you can either subscribe to it via an RSS feed, via Bloglovin, or alternatively I tend to do my best to update every two days so you can always just check back if that is easiest. This is the link for Bloglovin: www.bloglovin.com/blogs/mademoiselle-3929663/wwwmademois-ellecom
Thank you again for your comment! x
Nice! I'm also obsessed with Everlane. I didn't know you could machine wash their silk?! that would be fantastic but I'm too afraid to try!
I'm a little lazy and I machine wash most of my silk (including Equipment) and have never had a problem. I don't iron them after, just steam out the creases with a steamer (you could also do this with a steamy hot shower).
The tip is to wash them on cold, and keep them in a delicates bag. They still have that washed silk feel after too - I think it makes them a lot more affordable too, as you don't have the cost of drycleaning
Lovely pieces! Where do you buy your Everlane items?
Thanks Anna! I buy mine direct from Everlane (bit.ly/1D8x1zQ) using Shipito to have the parcels forwarded to me in Australia. I have seen the odd piece crop up on eBay too so might be worth keeping an eye out there if you want to try and get a piece even cheaper.
I've had a great experience with Shipito so far and find that they are very efficient and all my items arrive undamaged. I also like the fact that you get to fill in your own customs declaration form. x
Are you a secretary?
+Hila Glam Hi Hila - I work in Publicity but at the time of this video I was working in a Corporate Comms/Business Development role in a very formal office. Thanks!
Thanks. I asked because I used to work as a secretary for a short period of time before I started my "real" career, but even back then I had to face the same struggles in maintaining my own style in a formal wardrobe. I liked it though, I still dress very office-like even when I'm out of the office :)
+Hila Glam Yeah it's really hard; I was fortunate in my first role out of university that I worked with people who understood fashion and let me wear shorter hemlines and really express myself :) I used to wear blazers on the weekend though!! haha
So much talking, wish you could do a brief intro and show me the goods right away... Zzz
I'm planning on doing a winter capsule so I'll try out a different style for you then! I know I have a habit of making videos too long so thank you for the push to be a little more succinct (and to film a little differently!)
