I received my Mustard tail tidy today. Took 9 days to arrive in the UK. If you have any doubts about Mustard products dismiss them. I got an excellent quality, well designed product, very friendly and polite service. The little hand written note on the box was just another nice gesture. 10 out of 10 for Mustard. Thanks Mark.
Thank's for the feedback Kawasaki Kid! We do our best on all aspects of what we do, and like to think it makes the difference. Glad Australia Post came to the party and got it to you promptly as well.
@@MustardBikes Hi Mark Have you stopped exporting to the UK. I can not find England GB or UK on your web site.
@@leahall we still export to the UK, but due to the current UK import laws we can only do so via eBay. UK now requires sellers to collect the import VAT, which is very difficult for smaller retailers due to the complexity of calculating, collecting, registering and paying the required taxes. In the case of eBay they are the "seller" so they facilitate the tax collection. Let us know what you are chasing via our website and we can send you a direct link to the relevant eBay item.
@@MustardBikes OK thanks for letting me know Mark. 5 minuets for a reply.I am impressed mate.
@@leahall just got in the office!
Installed mine today on my 18 rs cafe.... perfect fit , perfect instruction.. couldn't be happier.. keep the rubber side down boys..
Thanks Mike! Glad you're happy with the result.
Just fitted mine up to my 2019 Z900RS. Beautiful bit of kit, super easy to install. Cheers!
Thanks for the awesome feedback!!
What a great video! Your device sure cleans up the back end of the Z900. Simple installation too - gotta love that! A big thumbs-up from me :)
Thanks for the very clear instructions and good product. I installed the tidy today and it went smoothly.
I can only advise that if you try to put the fairing back on, check if the grommet doesn’t have the rubber around it. That was the case for me and I didn’t get them back in. Until I discovered to remove the rubber ring from the grommet and put that back into the holes of the frame . After that it was click clack click done.
The screws for the tidy where long enough to allow me to add the reflector back so i am happy with that.
Thanks for the feedback Mattijs! Glad your happy with the product and thank you for the advise. Indeed from memory we had that happen to us once as well.
Matti, is it indeed possible to add the reflectors? For me it's important since I also use cargo net with hooks.
Awesome video mate, I'm looking at getting one of these later in the year so I'll be sure to get in touch.
Thanks for the feedback. Look forward to hearing from you when the new toy arrives!
Great straight forward instructions. Really easy to follow. Product looks great 👍
Thanks for the kind words Rob!
Glad you thought of a reflector add-on kit too. Someone fined last weekend by motorcycle cop for not having rear reflector on their bike after installing a tail tidy (Bruce Hwy, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, AU).
That's why we came up with it Neil. Never used to be a problem (and in many places still isn't) but especially QLD and NSW the constabulary like to get a carried away at times.
Nice install. ....transforms the look of the rear of the bike. In the UK we have HUGE ugly number plates unfortunately! Steve
Great tutorial and product. Installed on z900rs Cafe no worries. Just a heads up, my 2018 model had two black wires for the numberplate light. You can tell the power/red wire by the tiny little writing on the other end.
Thanks for the tip!
you make it seem so simple - well done
Great install vid. Clean kit. Beautiful motorcycle.
Thanks for the feedback Dennis!
my left ear understood. Its astonishing how less or no store room is under the seat!
Under seat storage isn't the priority it used to be for manufacturers!
Very informative install vid mate. Made it so much easier watching this. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Thanks Noel! Glad it helped.
Good vid.. very clear instructions to to this job with confidence. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you. I am about to install it myself. Very useful vdo
Sweet ! That's the first thing I thought of when I seen the Z900 was how am I going to get rid of that fender.
We thought the same! But then that's our job. We reckon it's a huge improvement on the looks too.
I have been using a7"X 6" since 1980 and never been pulled once for the plate
Brilliant clear instructions!!!
Now l will do mine myself... thanks.
Glad they helped Lee.
I have the green 2020 rs and looking to clean up the tail on my z and your video and product looks like Quality
Thanks for sharing
Glad you like it and thank you for the kind words.
Love your work guys. I have one of your tail tidy's fitted to my GSX-S1000. How nice is that Kwaka though!
Thanks Dean! One of our favourite modern retro's thats for sure.
Awesome product. UA-cam vid's make it well easy. And 'The Zed' looks even more pretty than she did before. Maybe you'll see your handiwork buzzing round Hobart! Just a quick note for anyone who - like me - has a Givi gear rack on the back of their Z-RS. The standard bolts are too short - before you pull it all apart. If you go with 4 x 35mm M8 bolts (30mm will work but it's . . . tight . . . if you can excuse the pun. Maybe add some locktite) and put the Tail Tidy in between the rack ( which hangs below) and the bike, it looks very speccie. You just need to be a little creative about the wiring.
We'll keep an eye out for you Jasper! And thanks for the heads up on the rack fitment.
Excellent Video 🇬🇧
Thank you!
Great vid. Thanks.
Thank you!
I bought 12mm longer mounting bolts than the supplied ones so I could also re-install the stock tie down bracket.
Will installing this eliminator not allow for saddlebags to be used? I saw that you have to remove the bracket that holds the reflectors and the mounting for the bags. Thanks, and great video.
Hi Norman, quite a few of our customers have reinstalled using the reflector bracket so they can retain the reflectors/hooks. You may need to source some longer bolts to make it work however. Hope that helps!
Just installed mine. Really great guide but a few things need mentioning for 2019 RS’s. Overall great though
Hi Samuel, can you elaborate on those? We have not heard of any changes.
What a great video! Do you have one on how to take the ECU off? I want to do a ECU flash and that would be great!
Unfortunately not! We'd love to do more video's but unfortunately these bikes are dealer demo's which makes it hard to do more in depth stuff.
@@MustardBikes ok cool
Nice Jaffa!
Can you use the reflector bracket with this kit? Looks like it had a spot for a tie down on them.
You could make it work, however you would need longer bolts than supplied in the kit and you would need to mount the fender eliminator first, then the bracket.
Mustard Bikes Awsome, thanks!
Hi mustard! I've a question.... for italian license plate i need 186mm plate or 254mm?! Thanks !
Hi there, we don't actually have a size for italian number plates on record. DO you know how wide your licence plate is?
EXCELLLLENT
Merci beaucoup
vous êtes le bienvenu!
If we wanted to keep the tie down bar, will it fit with the tail tidy?
Hi John,
From what we are aware numerous customers have re-fitted the bar along with our product so as to retain the tie down points. Hope that helps!
I just ordered one for 2015 Kawasaki z1000 but so far I can't find an install video, but all the ones for other bikes I've found these are the best and easiest fender eliminators to install.
Hi Richard, we didn't do the video's when we designed the 15 Z1000 eliminator, however you'll find a written guide comes with it and that installation will be quite similar to the Z900RS in process. We're always happy to help via the help@mustardbikes.com email if you run into any issues too.
Mustard Bikes I kind of figured that the installations were similar. Thank you for the reply.
Looks so much better👍
Thanks Mario, we think so too!
BRAVO MERCI
Do you reuse the license plate light?
Hi there, the kit comes with a small LED number plate light that sits out of sight on the Z900RS. The OEM unit is not reused.
Is the installation process the same for the 650rs?
Hi Jacob, we haven't gotten our hands on a 650RS yet, so unfortunately can't say if it fits or if the installation is the same as yet. As soon as we can get a hold of one we will be working on either a new video or a new product.
What is the maximum number plate width for this tidy?
We make two sizes. One for plates up to approx 190mm and one for plates up to 255mm. Hope that helps!
Any idea why the plate light you supplied will not work
Its wired correctly 💯 i tried 2 others i had they did not work either
But oem does , it seems to have some kind of circuitry in it ?
Did you get one without a plug or one of the newer kits with a plug? It could be several reasons but feel free to email us with for more direct help if you wish.
help@mustardbikes.com
Got one with a plug but tried both neither worked 2018 z900rs cafe
@@vic1mr We've responded to your help enquiry via email and will work to get the issue resolved ASAP.
Does this also fit the Kawasaki Z650RS
Hi there, it may do but we have not had access to a 650 yet to try, so we can’t confirm.
Does it fit 2022 z900rs cafe?
Hi there,
Yes this does fit the 2022 Z900RS Cafe.
Just double checking this will fit a Z900RS 2023-2024 as well?
Hi Corvus, yep, this still fits the 23/24 as well.
@@MustardBikes thanks
A luz da placa fica utilizando a lanterna traseira?
Hi there, A rear number plate light is supplied with the kit. It does not use the OEM light.
@@MustardBikes Do you sell on Ebay? You can send Link.
@@leonardozeni9766 here you go: www.ebay.com.au/itm/202242268684
@@MustardBikes When you reconnect the electrical part, I did not realize that there were those two wires with no connection. You turned off a black, a white and a blue and in the end connected just two. You can explain better.
@@leonardozeni9766 We have a separate video showing how to fit the LED light with the OEM plug. The two other plugs you mention are for the indicators. The third is for the LED light. In the video there is a link that pops up to the extra video.
Hope that helps!
So what happen to tag light?
Hi Randall, do you mean the number plate light? The kit comes with a LED number plate light pre-fitted as shown in the video.
Exhaust test
Looks the bollocks
Thanks Luker!
Sound is awfull, congratz on the video, next time use a mic... please
Thank's for the feedback Andre. We have been on the lookout for a lapel mic that syncs with our camera but no luck so far....probably because we aren't super clued in with videography! Any tips feel free to let us know.
Those are not the stock indicators or signals is what us 'Mericans call
em. 🗽
They are the stock signals provided for the rest of the world. American laws require incandescent bulbs to be fitted still which is why you guys get different ones. The mounting points are still the same.
@@MustardBikes I'm jealous that the rest of the world is getting better quality rubber grommets on the turn signals, mine have broken off already and I'm not happy about it! The rubber on the US model is absolute crap and if you push the rubber through into the bracket it'll probably crack and break. I wasn't trying to make fun of this product or your vid.
A audio is bad
First step: Disconnect battery
Final step: Reconnect battery
Modern bike = expensive ECU
Its supposed to be a RETRO styled bike , why put something on it to make it look modern
Ironically the tail chop was quite a common mod on the original Z9 as well. Ultimately it comes down to personal taste.
So when you going to do proper bike rebuilds engines ect . Just looking at your garage looks unused
That's because we maintain our workshop and clean it before making the video's! We mostly manufacture fender eliminators so that's why we pretty much just do tail tidy install video's. We could definitely look into doing some general maintenance videos etc if there was interest in that however.
