  • Welcome, or welcome back, to Wanderlust Walks! Thank you for being here.
Today, we are exploring the historic Yorkshire market town, Knaresborough. This beautiful town has a long history, with Knaresborough castle dating as far back as the Norman times (1066-1154)! It is also well known for one of England's oldest tourist attractions, Mother Shipton's Cave, the home of the fortune teller, Ursula Southeil. Born in a Knaresborough cave in 1488, Ursula became famous for her prophecies about the future. These included the great fire of London in 1666, the defeat of the Spanish Armada, and the end of the world. With such a rich history everywhere you look, this walk was a thoroughly enjoyable one - and we hope you enjoy it, too!
