Yes, many items are hung up high, where the water drops from the cliff & they all turn to stone. I distinctly remember teddy bears hung up there, stone teddy bears! Lol. I live in East Yorkshire, slightly different accent to the rest of Yorkshire & famous for Scarborough (simon/garfunkel song about the fair?) & famous for the Humber bridge. @@Paul-hl8ygit was traditionally called the Dropping Well, though it's located near Mother Shipton's cave. And people didn't use to call her 'old' mother until the 80s when Paul Daniels bought it and tried not very successfully to promote it. It's worth a look but it's very quick to visit and I always wondered how you could make a major attraction of it.. The cave just a very normal small cave, as far as I recall, but the well is quirkyl and memorable.

I live in West Yorkshire and so Knaresborough is not far away at all and it was fascinating to see how much of Knaresborough and it's history you were able to see. It is wonderful that you are able to see far more of our country than most visitors from overseas would see and I love how you delight in small details of what you discover. It pays to listen to people sometimes ;-) I was SO happy with how the drone photography turned out. There was this little 3 year old girl who was fascinated with Ian's drone that day and wanted to have a go at flying it. She was so adorable!
One of your best! I never thought Knaresborough had much to offer the tourist, but your brilliant research, Ian's commentaries, and Keith's historical input combine to make the town a compelling 'must-visit'. What stunning scenery from Ian's excellent drone footage - incidentally, you haven't suddenly become a railway enthusiast...have you? - with some daring viaduct fly-through shots! And the drone lives to film another day!!
I was thinking about you today and hoping that you would appreciate Ian's camera time today. It was a rare day of him feeling a bit more comfortable in front of the camera and being his natural, goofy self ;-) And an added bonus was Keith, who chimed in with narration and historical context. The drone is pretty idiot proof, so not as daring as it appears. Usually, it will only crash into something when you're doing something really stupid. I'm hoping to someday have a drone with a better camera since the colour capture and contrast leave a bit to be desired but it is a fun toy.
Thank you Tony. I think that was mostly luck. When I fly the drone, the image on my phone isn't always the best. I wish the drone's camera was as good as the one on Dara's iPhone. It couldn't capture the colour of the flowers on the bridge and the contrast, especially in low light, isn't great.
The dates on the cottages and other buildings always intrigue me. That these have withstood the age of time to tell their story. Knaresborough appears so steeped in history- and to top it off with those ruins just made it a perfect destination for people like me. I am so keen now to also plant my footsteps there. We happened upon Knaresborough about three years ago,we were so taken by it we bought a holiday home on the edge of town As my wife still works part time we share our time,a week at home and a week here,I can honestly say it’s the best thing we’ve ever done,the town is great and the people very friendly and there’s a lot to do in and around the area with an added bonus of interesting places a short distance away,York,Harrogate,Wetherby etc,and the coast about an hour away what’s not to love

But when I said I was going there a subscriber in Knaresborough insisted we go visit that town. I’m so glad that we had time to do so, because it is such a gorgeous place! Dara, you must have read my mind as these shots show how I recall Knaresborough from my boyhood days in the 1940s. The opening shot includes a shop (lower right) in which was sold a boy's CHEMISTRY set and on our almost weekly visits from nearby Harrogate, to hire a punt or rowing boat, my eyes feasted on that small box of magic. Ian and his drone should visit the Crimple railway viaduct at the other side of Harrogate - about 22 arches to film! Thank you both very much! Or as us northeners would say, "Ee, that's champion!"

Agree. I knew almost nothing about Harrogate 5 years ago and hadn't heard of Knaresborough. I'm glad we were recommended these places and look forward to more future exploring of Yorkshire.
@@ians3586 There's loads to see. From York, to the Yorkshire Dales, to Whitby, to Grassington. Hidden gems like Helmsley on a quiet day, Rievaulx Abbey and Hawnby, up to Aysgarth Falls and Richmond and Skipton Castle, down to hidden gems in the industrial towns of South Yorkshire.
@@TheGramophoneGirl we've visited some of those like Helmsley, Rievaulx, and, of course, York, but even though we've been to the North York Moors we haven't been to the Yorkshire coast. So Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are on our list for a future visit. Our trip into the Yorkshire Dales started from Leeds, where we were staying, and went Ilkley (for lunch), Skipton (where we toured the castle), Burnsall (which we absolutely loved especially the view above the village), Grassington, and our furthest point was Kettlewell, where they were having a scarecrow festival. We didn't have time to go further, so next time I want to visit Malham Cove, Fountains Abbey, and the Northern Dales. The industrial towns of South Yorkshire are a good idea that I need to do further research on. I have done a Google Street View tour of Huddersfield and was impressed with the quality of the Victorian architecture there. I can't remember why I chose that town but I sometimes select places randomly and tour them on Street View to see if they're worth a visit.

Wow, I would have to agree with Ian, it is my favorite video! Oh I've been to the Lavender Tea Rooms and love it! I always have coffee there and sit outside looking out at the square. It is such a lovely spot to people watch. The drone footage is so amazing! It really takes the towns stunning views to a whole other level and makes me love Knaresborough somehow more than I already did. Amazing work, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! : )

👍 Great video of this ancient town, it really does look like you two do have a time machine ! 😉 We were regular visitors until our move to East of the county, one of the cafes we used for snacks is called MARIGOLDS, which is a fitting name for flower loving time travelers like yourselves 😉 it's on the riverside between the castle ruin and the viaduct and could be seen in the footage you filmed. The best and biggest car park is Conyngham Hall, opposite the Worlds End Pub on the A59 Harrogate road by the bridge, plenty of space and a great for picnics in the summer. If you want real bats for halloween, you'll find large number of them along the narrow lane called Abbey Road which starts at the Half Moon Pub and is where the Chapel Of Our Lady Of The Crag is which was featured in your video, a great walk at night, very spooky !.... Ian, you've done some great done footage, especially in and around the viaduct, a great birds eye view of the riverside. Where we live there's an aerial photographer who still uses a microlight to fly over the villages, maybe you could get a 2 seater in magenta colors ? .... you'd have no traffic problems, but parking could be a bit tricky!? 😉

Thanks for the comments and insight that we'll have to refer back to when we visit again. My memories of having my stepmother's brother and his family die in a small plane crash (5 of them) on their way to visit us as a child, have coloured my view of flying in small planes. I think I will be sticking to drones though I could perhaps be convinced to do a hot air balloon ride.

Slighted definitely a verb in that context, often specifically relating to Cromwell's troops making hostile castles indefensible in the event of future conflict. Took my first ever trip to Knaresborough last autumn. We were staying in Harrogate and just decided to take the 15 minute train trip there on a whim without really knowing anything about it. Glad we did as it's lovely but wish we'd had longer than just a couple of hours there. Great video.
Same here! We just planned to go to the *more famous* Harrogate... but then subscriber Keith INSISTED we go visit Knaresborough. I knew nothing about it and had no expectations. I was gobsmacked by what a charming, picturesque and interesting place it was!
Here’s the big thing I learned when visiting Knaresborough from Leeds as a kid. There is (or was) a pub at the end of the viaduct called ‘The Worlds End’ because it was prophesied that if the viaduct fell down three times it would herald the end of the world. The prophesy is unlikely to come from Mother Shipton although it’s attributed to her, but then again many of her prophesies were recorded (as in written!) much later by a local clergyman I think. Thanks for the excellent video and especially the careful drone piloting as, well, the viaduct has fallen down twice already apparently!
Oh no! We're doomed then. In some ways it looks like the viaduct isn't well cared for because there are plants growing all over it, but on closer inspection those plants are beautiful flowering plants so they may be there intentionally. My drone's camera just wasn't good enough to properly pick them up.
That viaduct needs to stop falling down... that is awful! Thanks for sharing the story about the World's End pub. Knaresborough is full of such interesting stories!!! Although as you say that one might not be too factual. Mother Shipton was born nearly 400 years before the bridge was built, and it's unlikely she predicted that bridge would be built and then fall down 3 times... BUT if it falls down again, we should all get our affairs in order!

@@davidholmes2283 Harrogate is a great place for B&B's. We almost stayed a couple of nights at a B&B there in 2020 but had to cancel because of Covid. I was impressed with the quality of the accommodations there.
What a beautiful place to visit, such cute cottages and architecture. A photographers dream indeed. Also very interesting stories and wall paintings. Thos salted caramel cups looked absolutely delicious. (I also have an empty stomach so that makes it worse 😉) I liked Ian's version of the bronze statue, too bad it got gut short... 😂 Ursula's sculpture was quite interesting as well. Thos was a very informative, interesting and entertaining video. I can see why Ian loves this video, it's a stunning place. That bridge is just beautiful and of course the drone footage was amazing. Not only will they watch and share, some will even show you around. But most important, you mainly end up with gems like this one. Even when we don't feel like doing anything, when we get an invite to go somewhere we always say yes, as you never know where you might end up. mainly at places other people don't go and those are the best ones quite often. A lot of our upcoming vlogs are based on just that. And this place is no exception to that. It must have been a delight exploring that beautiful town.

That's some good drone flying again!! This area is so nice maybe for a weekend stay. I'm an architecture and garden buff so I always have something to do pretty much anywhere in the UK.
We like the same things! Ian is in hog heaven if he has a place with beautiful architecture and gardens! That's why he gushed so much at Cragside! Yes, Knaresborough and Harrogate would be a lovely weekend trip!
You really are spoiled for choice when it comes to architecture and gardens in the UK. It's rather bland here in the suburbs of Dallas. Nice area to live in but not particularly interesting.
I knew of "Blind Jack", but forgotten he was a Knaresborough boy. I've driven through Knaresborough many times, but never as a tourist. Mind you that applies to almost every town or village in Britain.

What a great place to work. I wish we had more rail here in the U.S., it really is the best way to travel. The Victorians really did things right with the beautiful stations and infrastructure like the viaducts.

Incredible video, we love Knaresborough and Mother Shiptons Cave. Its changed a lot since we last visited. The statues in the centre are new as is the “Banksy” painting of covid19 passports being burnt. Great factual insight into the town! Look forward to seeing your future videos! 😍👍👍

Okay, who's to say that's not a Banksy? After all, he's rather coy about his work. I'm sure the proprietor is glad to see his property has doubled in value.
Another fantastic vid of a really beautiful, and incredibly historic town. Quite stunning, and hats off to Ian for the superb drone footage. Like some others, i too had heard of Mother Shipton, but knew little of her origins. I had heard she had quite the grisly visage though, a big part of her being ostracised. Looks here like the sculptor decided to glam her up a bit :) Some great history there, but i do think the town should touch up the blue plaque at the crag chapel. That was definitely looking the worse for wear.
Thank you John. Knaresborough was a fun place to drone. That was definitely one of the more attractive depictions of a witch that I've seen but I think the artist did a good adding peripheral items that made the sculptures interesting.
I agree that the blue plaque needs a bit of a touchup! And I also agree about Mother Shipton. She was described as being hunched with a long crooked, hooked nose... like the stereotypical image of a witch. She was born in a cave and was ostracised as a child growing up. She certainly had a challenging life, but it is nice that her memory lives on in the stories about her, and the "glamourised" statue of her in the town square! Thanks so much for your support, John!

Knaresborough has improved enormously in recent years with the construction of a bypass taking the A59 through traffic south of the town. The traffic used to be murder, especially in summer.
Funny enough there were traffic issues going into town while we were there but because Keith is a local, he knew some back roads that got us around it. I do like the fact that bypasses make towns more peaceful and less congested. I wish they would completely pedestrianize some villages, like Broadway in the Cotswolds.
If you look at the footage at the very end of the video, you will see the traffic piled up going into the town (on the bridge) which goes on for miles. However, I don't think, based on what Keith was saying, this was a normal occurrence.
I can imagine that it has a fair number of visitors, so the bypass is a good idea! The day we were there they were doing roadworks, so it made the traffic especially bad!
@@MagentaOtterTravels As you have no doubt realised on your travels, most of our ancient settlements are at river crossings, so the bridges create bottlenecks. With land at a premium on this small island, bypasses are always a political hot potato.
@@ians3586I go there to visit family and don't remember traffic being terrible. Also grew up near there too from the 70s. Maybe it's true it gets a bit less congested due to the bypass these days but it certainly wasn't terrible all the time in the past. The road towards Harrogate could get busy sometimes but have seen much worse!

@@ians3586 - Sorry to read that, unfortunately we can relate. But in all honesty you can't really get it right as for the time zones over the globe. When we do a premiere that suits our own time schedule, most of our viewers from Europe are sleeping and vice versa. It's very hard to pinpoint the right time. But you can check your analytics in UA-cam studio to see what day and time most of your viewers are watching. 😉
I was GUTTED to wake up at 5am all excited for my big day and the premiere at 10am only to discover that I had accidentally programmed the premiere for midnight! And the WORST part of the story is that when I set the premiere a week ago, a subscriber even commented and said "did you mean to set the premiere for this time?" I was horrified, thanked them for the notice, and then THOUGHT I had fixed it. Nope. I try to stay consistent with the timing of my videos and premieres... always Fridays at 10am central US and 4pm in the UK. That way people know what to expect... but I just messed this one up big time! Live and learn... Thanks for watching!!!

I really loved the drone footage you got over the river, very spectacular. I used to play in the Castle grounds with my brother when were kids. I used to live near Scriven so know that bit very well. It's not well known but the market place has lots of unmapped tunnels from the Castle underneath it. I live in York now, but still visit Knaresborough regularly.

I'm thinking that it's due to a gardener's care or, as you were saying, a microclimate was responsible for this. While driving around we saw very little in the way of foxglove in June. You're right that they're usually seen later in the summer.

Yes, many items are hung up high, where the water drops from the cliff & they all turn to stone. I distinctly remember teddy bears hung up there, stone teddy bears! Lol. @@Paul-hl8ygit was traditionally called the Dropping Well, though it's located near Mother Shipton's cave. And people didn't use to call her 'old' mother until the 80s when Paul Daniels bought it and tried not very successfully to promote it. It's worth a look but it's very quick to visit and I always wondered how you could make a major attraction of it.. The cave just a very normal small cave, as far as I recall, but the well is quirkyl and memorable.

I hadn't heard of Knaresborough either until subscriber Keith insisted we go visit, and I'm so glad we did!! It pays to listen to people sometimes ;-) I was SO happy with how the drone photography turned out. There was this little 3 year old girl who was fascinated with Ian's drone that day and wanted to have a go at flying it. She was so adorable!

One of your best! I never thought Knaresborough had much to offer the tourist, but your brilliant research, Ian's commentaries, and Keith's historical input combine to make the town a compelling 'must-visit'. What stunning scenery from Ian's excellent drone footage - incidentally, you haven't suddenly become a railway enthusiast...have you? - with some daring viaduct fly-through shots! And the drone lives to film another day!!
I was thinking about you today and hoping that you would appreciate Ian's camera time today. It was a rare day of him feeling a bit more comfortable in front of the camera and being his natural, goofy self ;-) And an added bonus was Keith, who chimed in with narration and historical context. The drone is pretty idiot proof, so not as daring as it appears. Usually, it will only crash into something when you're doing something really stupid. I'm hoping to someday have a drone with a better camera since the colour capture and contrast leave a bit to be desired but it is a fun toy.

Thank you Tony. I think that was mostly luck. When I fly the drone, the image on my phone isn't always the best. I wish the drone's camera was as good as the one on Dara's iPhone. It couldn't capture the colour of the flowers on the bridge and the contrast, especially in low light, isn't great.
The dates on the cottages and other buildings always intrigue me. That these have withstood the age of time to tell their story. Knaresborough appears so steeped in history- and to top it off with those ruins just made it a perfect destination for people like me. I am so keen now to also plant my footsteps there. The drone footage was indeed a delight for the eyes. Thank you Ian for that. 💖 🤩 🇳🇿 🙋 🇳🇱

We happened upon Knaresborough about three years ago,we were so taken by it we bought a holiday home on the edge of town
As my wife still works part time we share our time,a week at home and a week here,I can honestly say it’s the best thing we’ve ever done,the town is great and the people very friendly and there’s a lot to do in and around the area with an added bonus of interesting places a short distance away,York,Harrogate,Wetherby etc,and the coast about an hour away what’s not to love
I’m so happy for you! That does sound like an ideal set up! I agree, it is an absolutely wonderful area to explore! We were going to Harrogate because we heard about its touristy fame. But when I said I was going there a subscriber in Knaresborough insisted we go visit that town. I’m so glad that we had time to do so, because it is such a gorgeous place! We feel very fortunate to be able to divide our time between Texas (our long time home with our friends and work) and Gloucestershire… our home away from home each summer! 🇺🇸❤️🏴

Dara, you must have read my mind as these shots show how I recall Knaresborough from my boyhood days in the 1940s. The opening shot includes a shop (lower right) in which was sold a boy's CHEMISTRY set and on our almost weekly visits from nearby Harrogate, to hire a punt or rowing boat, my eyes feasted on that small box of magic. Ian and his drone should visit the Crimple railway viaduct at the other side of Harrogate - about 22 arches to film! Thank you both very much! Or as us northeners would say, "Ee, that's champion!"

Agree. I knew almost nothing about Harrogate 5 years ago and hadn't heard of Knaresborough. I'm glad we were recommended these places and look forward to more future exploring of Yorkshire.
@@ians3586 There's loads to see. From York, to the Yorkshire Dales, to Whitby, to Grassington. Hidden gems like Helmsley on a quiet day, Rievaulx Abbey and Hawnby, up to Aysgarth Falls and Richmond and Skipton Castle, down to hidden gems in the industrial towns of South Yorkshire.
@@TheGramophoneGirl we've visited some of those like Helmsley, Rievaulx, and, of course, York, but even though we've been to the North York Moors we haven't been to the Yorkshire coast. So Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are on our list for a future visit. Our trip into the Yorkshire Dales started from Leeds, where we were staying, and went Ilkley (for lunch), Skipton (where we toured the castle), Burnsall (which we absolutely loved especially the view above the village), Grassington, and our furthest point was Kettlewell, where they were having a scarecrow festival. We didn't have time to go further, so next time I want to visit Malham Cove, Fountains Abbey, and the Northern Dales. The industrial towns of South Yorkshire are a good idea that I need to do further research on. I have done a Google Street View tour of Huddersfield and was impressed with the quality of the Victorian architecture there. I can't remember why I chose that town but I sometimes select places randomly and tour them on Street View to see if they're worth a visit.

Wow, I would have to agree with Ian, it is my favorite video! Oh I've been to the Lavender Tea Rooms and love it! I always have coffee there and sit outside looking out at the square. 👍 Great video of this ancient town, it really does look like you two do have a time machine ! 😉 We were regular visitors until our move to East of the county, one of the cafes we used for snacks is called MARIGOLDS, which is a fitting name for flower loving time travelers like yourselves 😉 it's on the riverside between the castle ruin and the viaduct and could be seen in the footage you filmed. The best and biggest car park is Conyngham Hall, opposite the Worlds End Pub on the A59 Harrogate road by the bridge, plenty of space and a great for picnics in the summer. If you want real bats for halloween, you'll find large number of them along the narrow lane called Abbey Road which starts at the Half Moon Pub and is where the Chapel Of Our Lady Of The Crag is which was featured in your video, a great walk at night, very spooky !.... Ian, you've done some great done footage, especially in and around the viaduct, a great birds eye view of the riverside. Where we live there's an aerial photographer who still uses a microlight to fly over the villages, maybe you could get a 2 seater in magenta colors ? .... you'd have no traffic problems, but parking could be a bit tricky!? 😉

Thanks for the comments and insight that we'll have to refer back to when we visit again. My memories of having my stepmother's brother and his family die in a small plane crash (5 of them) on their way to visit us as a child, have coloured my view of flying in small planes. I think I will be sticking to drones though I could perhaps be convinced to do a hot air balloon ride.

Slighted definitely a verb in that context, often specifically relating to Cromwell's troops making hostile castles indefensible in the event of future conflict. Took my first ever trip to Knaresborough last autumn. We were staying in Harrogate and just decided to take the 15 minute train trip there on a whim without really knowing anything about it. Glad we did as it's lovely but wish we'd had longer than just a couple of hours there. Great video.

There is (or was) a pub at the end of the viaduct called ‘The Worlds End’ because it was prophesied that if the viaduct fell down three times it would herald the end of the world. The prophesy is unlikely to come from Mother Shipton although it’s attributed to her, but then again many of her prophesies were recorded (as in written!) much later by a local clergyman I think. Thanks for the excellent video and especially the careful drone piloting as, well, the viaduct has fallen down twice already apparently!
Oh no! We're doomed then. In some ways it looks like the viaduct isn't well cared for because there are plants growing all over it, but on closer inspection those plants are beautiful flowering plants so they may be there intentionally. My drone's camera just wasn't good enough to properly pick them up.
That viaduct needs to stop falling down... that is awful! Thanks for sharing the story about the World's End pub. Knaresborough is full of such interesting stories!!! Although as you say that one might not be too factual. Mother Shipton was born nearly 400 years before the bridge was built, and it's unlikely she predicted that bridge would be built and then fall down 3 times... BUT if it falls down again, we should all get our affairs in order!

What a beautiful place to visit, such cute cottages and architecture. A photographers dream indeed. Also very interesting stories and wall paintings. Thos salted caramel cups looked absolutely delicious. (I also have an empty stomach so that makes it worse 😉) I liked Ian's version of the bronze statue, too bad it got gut short... 😂 Ursula's sculpture was quite interesting as well. Thos was a very informative, interesting and entertaining video. I can see why Ian loves this video, it's a stunning place. That bridge is just beautiful and of course the drone footage was amazing. What a great place to work. I wish we had more rail here in the U.S., it really is the best way to travel. The Victorians really did things right with the beautiful stations and infrastructure like the viaducts.

Incredible video, we love Knaresborough and Mother Shiptons Cave. Its changed a lot since we last visited. The statues in the centre are new as is the “Banksy” painting of covid19 passports being burnt. Great factual insight into the town! Look forward to seeing your future videos! 😍👍👍

Okay, who's to say that's not a Banksy? After all, he's rather coy about his work. I'm sure the proprietor is glad to see his property has doubled in value.
Another fantastic vid of a really beautiful, and incredibly historic town. Quite stunning, and hats off to Ian for the superb drone footage. Like some others, i too had heard of Mother Shipton, but knew little of her origins. I had heard she had quite the grisly visage though, a big part of her being ostracised. Looks here like the sculptor decided to glam her up a bit :) Some great history there, but i do think the town should touch up the blue plaque at the crag chapel. That was definitely looking the worse for wear.
Thank you John. Knaresborough was a fun place to drone. That was definitely one of the more attractive depictions of a witch that I've seen but I think the artist did a good adding peripheral items that made the sculptures interesting.

I agree that the blue plaque needs a bit of a touchup! And I also agree about Mother Shipton. She was described as being hunched with a long crooked, hooked nose... like the stereotypical image of a witch. She was born in a cave and was ostracised as a child growing up. She certainly had a challenging life, but it is nice that her memory lives on in the stories about her, and the "glamourised" statue of her in the town square! Thanks so much for your support, John!

Knaresborough has improved enormously in recent years with the construction of a bypass taking the A59 through traffic south of the town. The traffic used to be murder, especially in summer.
Funny enough there were traffic issues going into town while we were there but because Keith is a local, he knew some back roads that got us around it. I do like the fact that bypasses make towns more peaceful and less congested. I wish they would completely pedestrianize some villages, like Broadway in the Cotswolds.
If you look at the footage at the very end of the video, you will see the traffic piled up going into the town (on the bridge) which goes on for miles. However, I don't think, based on what Keith was saying, this was a normal occurrence.
I can imagine that it has a fair number of visitors, so the bypass is a good idea! The day we were there they were doing roadworks, so it made the traffic especially bad!
@@MagentaOtterTravels As you have no doubt realised on your travels, most of our ancient settlements are at river crossings, so the bridges create bottlenecks. With land at a premium on this small island, bypasses are always a political hot potato.
@@ians3586I go there to visit family and don't remember traffic being terrible. Also grew up near there too from the 70s. Maybe it's true it gets a bit less congested due to the bypass these days but it certainly wasn't terrible all the time in the past. The road towards Harrogate could get busy sometimes but have seen much worse!

I believe there is a monthly mass said at the crag on the hill...the story is that king john visited the recluse and saintly robert circ 1210 and was made to wait outside until robert had finished his devotions ..eventually he emerged holding a stalk of wheat and asked john if he could reproduce the miracle of growth and transformation ...among his kingly accomplishments..johns response would have been in norman french but i guess understandable to onlookers

@@ians3586 - Sorry to read that, unfortunately we can relate. But in all honesty you can't really get it right as for the time zones over the globe. When we do a premiere that suits our own time schedule, most of our viewers from Europe are sleeping and vice versa. It's very hard to pinpoint the right time. But you can check your analytics in UA-cam studio to see what day and time most of your viewers are watching. 😉
I was GUTTED to wake up at 5am all excited for my big day and the premiere at 10am only to discover that I had accidentally programmed the premiere for midnight! And the WORST part of the story is that when I set the premiere a week ago, a subscriber even commented and said "did you mean to set the premiere for this time?" I was horrified, thanked them for the notice, and then THOUGHT I had fixed it. Nope. I try to stay consistent with the timing of my videos and premieres... always Fridays at 10am central US and 4pm in the UK. That way people know what to expect... but I just messed this one up big time! Live and learn... Thanks for watching!!!

I really loved the drone footage you got over the river, very spectacular. I used to play in the Castle grounds with my brother when were kids. I used to live near Scriven so know that bit very well. It's not well known but the market place has lots of unmapped tunnels from the Castle underneath it. I live in York now, but still visit Knaresborough regularly.

I'm thinking that it's due to a gardener's care or, as you were saying, a microclimate was responsible for this. While driving around we saw very little in the way of foxglove in June. You're right that they're usually seen later in the summer.

Blind Jack is an ancestor of my husband, his seven times great grandfather. I am a genealogist and I proved this.
That is fantastic! What an interesting discovery, and great legacy to know about. My brother is an avid genealogist, and I try to work on family history when I can. I recently did two videos on my channel about family history trips we made this summer. One in Herefordshire and one to Birmingham. Yesterday I registered for a conference called RootsTech in February. It is held in Salt Lake City, and is the largest genealogy conference in the world.

My husband does this thing I call "party lying", where he is chatting with people at a party and puts on an air of absolute confidence and makes statements sounding like an expert where he states "facts" that are things he has just made up.
