Solovair boots r a good alt to docs/combats and certain dress shoes as well (since they r the og producer of docs, but better with material and has a shank)
straight up don't get docs y'all the quality ain't there spend for the solovairs it's worth it they'll hold up way better

@@pepperman7389Necro-commenting I know, but I use my Solovair Dealer boots as Airline Crew for 3 years straight in literally any weather condition you can think of. It's held amazing while being the most comfortable boot I can walk distances in.
I only have a few Doc collabs and I they don't meet quality standards that Solovair does.

For like chunky derby I got the doc martens 1461 Bex, but I honestly wouldn’t recommend them because they are extremely uncomfortable even after I broke in the leather, so yeah save some pain and buy higher quality derby’s like oree‘s.

I bought my first pair of boots recently-the viron 1992 zip- and I love them alot. I think I have a sizing issue thought because they make my heels bleed if I don't wear two pairs of socks but other than that theyre like the nicest thing I own and I'm very happy with the vibe they give my fits.

You can bring shoes to the cobbler to break in the leather or just do it yourself with a hammer but put some cloth over the leather, so you don’t damage it.

these things are relatively affordable; if you just need shoes then they are extremely unaffordable, but for example if you want large chunky boots or heeled boots with good leather quality, then some of these recommendations are "affordable" especially if you buy them second-hand.
