The position of creative director is nothing more than an overpaid merchandiser. A creative director tells designers what they want made, the designers toil away actualizing the looks and the creative director simply picks what they like from what the designers come up with to be in the actual collection, and at the end the creative director takes all the credits for designs he or she did not come up with. So yes, while the narrative is question is an incredible statement to the atrocities that are happening in Ukraine, to call Demma a "genius" or an "artist" is a complete exaggeration of his actual capabilities. The same can be said for 95% of all these "creative directors" whether is Olivier Rousteing at Balmain, Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior, or Jeremy Scott at Moschino.
