It seems like every time I've read a review by someone who dislikes BR the major criticisms are either that all their songs sound the same (demonstrably untrue - they do tend to mostly stick to the things they do best but they have more range overall than ~98% of the genre) or that they are just eggheads artlessly spewing $5 words - that they are more interested in showing off how smart they are than in meaningful self-expression. All bullshit.
The new album is so good. I thought I wouldn't say this, but they have become better with time and this last strike is a true masterclass in punk. This is one of my favourite punk ballads, but Dharma is an awesome, psicotropic-esque experiment, and the other pieces are just mellodic punk rock perfected to craftsmanship. True masters of sound they are, indeed.
I can't stop the way I feel But I can penetrate your religion with a nail You are mine and we are twine When we radiate in waves together everything is fine Hello cruel world do you know that you're killing me? I don't mind but I could use a little sympathy I've been blind as a fool can be My dear cruel world do you ever think about me? I can feel so alone with you right here And yet I turn to you for comfort in my despair You are dust and I am bone And I will love your endless gaze of madness until I turn to stone Hello cruel world do you know that you're killing me? I don't mind but I could use a little sympathy I've been blind as a fool can be My dear cruel world now I know you are my everything Please forgive me Hello cruel world do you know that you're killing me I don't mind but I could use a little sympathy I've been blind as only as a fool can be My dear cruel world now I've made a mess of everything
This is a very relaxing song also... I just can imagine Mr. Baker playing this XD... "I can feel so alone with you right here, and yet I turn to you for comfort in my dispair"... great lines.
the whole vibe, with the two part harmonies and the slow tempo, but now that i think about it the "i don't mind.." part is very similar to the chorus of Angry Chair
I'm sure a lot don't notice, but being an audio engineer it really stands out to me. That particular one almost sounds like a digital glitch. Awesome album though which I have had almost on repeat since the day it came out.
Thank you soooo much for uploading this! I won't have the chance to buy this album soon, as I live in Israel and CD shops are rarely to be found and those have a very small collection. I also don't know, when it would be released here. Anyway, on the 22nd I will go voting ;)
I can usually tell the difference between a Greg song and a Brett song, but this one has me somewhat stumped. I'm leaning towards guessing Brett. At any rate, another amazing album. I can't wait for its release.
The lyrics are getting better and better the longer you guys are around. Maybe it is not that bad after all that the passage of time kills one. At least one becomes a bit more aware. Besides without death we couldn't enjoy life.
this set of songs is the best ,, great to see you guys stick to your roots, and not try to sell out, OI!....Igor, Grunge is dead, BR is punk through and through :)
This is one of the best songs the band has written and a reason why I opened myself back up to them. Confession: I lost interest after Generator. True North is evidence they still have the life of the 1988-1992 catalog. Favorite album: No Control.
Lol. still love you emily. And honestly, what that guy said. A grunge song in fuckin 2013 that gave me CHILLS it was so good. Thank you bad religion, for giving me faith that true art isn't dead.
Something that really irritates me about this song, at 2:00 the lyric 'I Am Bone' clicks and pops. This UA-cam version and my CD both do the same. This shouldn't have made it onto the final master. Really distracting for me. Other than that, this is my favourite song on the new album.
i hate the fact i wasn't born sooner, you know when you had to run over to your boys house to see what was up? or experience the circular dial phone when you had to literally run your finger around the number circle to dial it? sometimes try two or three times depending on your buzz, according to my grandfather
Bad Religion is the best punkrock band that ever existed!!! Cheers from Brazil.
BR in BR
Meu irmão, sim!

I actually really like this song. the vocal harmony is sick

Somebody please tell me I'm not the only one who recognizes this song's relevance today ...

I really love this song! That light piano layer is so perfect. Great vocal melody.

Gods of the industry, poet of the century.

Why is this so fucking underrated????/
I loved them from Infected!
This is one of the best songs the band has written and a reason why I opened myself back up to them. Confession: I lost interest after Generator. True North is evidence they still have the life of the 1988-1992 catalog. Favorite album: No Control.
damn nice melody.
the intro of the song is amont the best of all times
AIper Ileri would you count overture as the intro to sinister rouge

I WISHED I could book these guys, at the now, defunct Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA
Wow, you must be super smart. Totally proved it.

I really like this song. Greg Graffin is the best.
Lol. still love you emily. And honestly, what that guy said. A grunge song in fuckin 2013 that gave me CHILLS it was so good. Thank you bad religion, for giving me faith that true art isn't dead.

Please forgive mee
Please forgive meee...
Harmonies are sick. I enjoy their slower songs. Reminds me of The Answer a bit. Fuck this band still rules.
Great fukin song!
Does this song remind anyone else of Infected a little bit?

Very Alice in Chains-ish. great great album.
I sure did, didn't I :D
we have abused our planet
we deserve whatever we get
Thank you, Greg, Brett, Greg, Jay, Brian, Bruce and Bobby for occasionally reconciling (my sociopathic) duality ;)
Hmmm. Definitely a Mr. Brett song.
LMAO!!! :D
Huh, I think the intro sounds a bit like Vicarious by Tool.
