Though I now have UA-cam premium, I know what it's like listening to a video while gaming, only for an ad to start playing, and having to skip it while in the middle of gameplay. There's a very specific moment from about 10 years ago or so, long before I was a UA-camr, I was playing Destiny and in the middle of a raid, listening to a video, and I swear, ads kept popping up every couple minutes, and I couldn't skip them because I was in the middle of something, and I remember thinking to myself, "if I ever make UA-cam videos, I'll never have ads in the middle, this is really annoying" lol.
@@NEScRETRO I really appreciate that. I've been listening to a lot of long form content as of late, and I get how hard that is to make. But having to skip an ad every 20 minuets can get old. @FossaKingAve I do my best to acknowledge every comment, and reply if I have anything to add/say. A lot of people think it's a bot doing it, but nope, I just check in every now and then when I'm awake lol.
I only saw like, one person mention about polybius but Ahoy did a great video a few years back debunking polybius. If anyone has an hour or so to spare, it’s an absolutely fantastic video about the legend.
This is the first video of yours I've watched, and this was a beyond amazing watch! The personal tangents made this video a very comfortable experience, it was very nice!
Some people think they're a waste of time, but I think it's nice to add a personal touch whenever you can, it makes the videos feel much less "wikipedia dump" lol
@@NEScRETRO yesss, true!! that's a very cool way of putting it. im surprised some folks are not a fan of them because it was probably one of my favorite aspects of the iceberg and specially on such a diverse and subjective topic like vg myths, the small tangents adds sooooo much
This is the content I subscribe to and support nowadays. We have gazillion youtubers who just care about hitting that 10+minute mark on their video, sometimes talking straight nonsense to do so. This channel, and similar ones, produce art and the quality and passion put into it are palpable. Bravo and congratulations on another masterpiece!
I knew at least 80% of the entries on here. So much nostalgia and things I had forgotten. Growing up with the 90s/early 2000s internet was so amazing, I miss it.
Dude, your dedication to these projects is unbelievable. You’re my new background narrator; I go back to your iceberg videos again and again when I’m cleaning, cooking, or whatever, and it always feels like I’ve got a friend just taking about cook Internet stuff. I never get tired of them, and this one is going to be another solid repeat listen. Keep up the excellent work, and take all the time you need between uploads. I can’t imagine the time these must take, but they’re always a treat.
You probably could've algorithm optimized this by splitting it into like 7 different videos to rake in views, but the fact that you didn't and upload it all in one go rly says something about your dedication to the vid I can rly appreciate it
I prefer longer videos myself, so I'd rather it just be one single long video! I don't like split up videos when I'm playing a game or something, because then I need to tab out every time they end to find something else lol.
This video needs more views the way you make everything so relatable makes it seem like im talking to a friend and doesnt seem like an ai written script
The reality of AI creating UA-cam videos is just about the norm now, and I feel it takes a lot of personality out of the videos. Obviously, that goes without saying, but it's just becoming more widespread now, and this is really just the beginning. Soon, they'll probably be able to even edit the videos themselves.
Watching the video brought back a memory of a myth about the Pokemon Ditto. Something about that Ditto was made from an ink spill, something on the lines of that. Awesome video I loved it!
I can't wait to watch through all of this and enjoy it thoroughly. Icebergs are a lot less popular than they used to be but I'm glad you're still doing them NEScRETRO, I still adore the vibes of your Iceberg videos and this niche little genre of online video. Keep up the good work! 😊

It's funny how 3 hourd 35 minutes into the video you'd edit out jumpscares just in case someone was still watching, I was planning on sleeping through this video late at night but it was so interesting I had to watch it entirely, took me 2 sittings, great video man, also long live ManlyBadassHero
Hahahah very nice. Thank you bro. 7 hours is hilarious. I had my complaints with the first few ice bergs but I respect your grind. Content machine and I appreciate it man.
I noticed you read all your comments, so wanted to say ive been watching you since the orignal mario iceberg. Love your work. Probably the best reasearched and dictated of videos out there. Congrats on your success bud.
I think the Chilliad thing was a teaser for single player GTA V DLC's that scrapped. Latest Rockstar leaks showed that they planned at least 3 DLC with Alien, zombie and secret agent themes
I really wish they did single player DLC, it really would have been amazing, or at least implement the new dlc vehicles into single player without needing to mod... unless they did do that and I was just oblivious lol
Seriously, GTA Online's success was the worst thing to happen to Rockstar. They survived Jack Thompson's crusade only to lose their mind to microtransactions
Genuinely one of my favorite videos of yours, helps me get through long tasks like school and travel. Though some entries I’m surprised weren’t on there were things like gaster from Undertale, half life 3 / team fortress 3 / portal 3 / valve game 3, the ultrakill size 2 fish, new tf2 update, etc. but honestly? With the sheer amount of research and content in this is extremely impressive on its own
I cannot begin to thank you for the content you put out. The quantity and quality of your videos matched with the niche topics you cover is unparalleled on this platform. I'm honestly struggling to come up with words here so I'm just going to say it again, thank you.

Listened to this while studying for my mock exams, and it was such great company! okay but you missed the funniest part about the nier automata church. the modders needed to keep their shit on the hush because there was this really toxic guy who steals people's work and moves to different communities. if they were open about it, the guy would start drama and modding wouldve gotten nowhere.

I was thinking of some other ones that didn't make it on the iceberg such as entity 303, Wizard101 ghost girl, cuthulu boss fight in terraria, sad Satan, sly 5, ssb4 gematsu leak, silent hill ambulance ending, wario abberition, Minecraft sky dimension, I'm sure I know of more but those are the ones I can think of on the top of my head. It would be interesting to see another video later on explaining video game urban legends that did not make the iceberg, I'd be interested in more

so, that gameplay is a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) meaning that all inputs are programmed into the game beforehand to create a theoretical "perfect" playthrough, so I'm not sure if it's actually possible for a human to do that, but it definitely is fun to watch!
I've been watching this video in 30 minutes chunks during work breaks and before bed all this week, really nice to have on to relax! The way you present these topics feels really casual, like we're two friends talking over Discord about weird video game stuff. Keep up the good work!
This is hands down the best gaming video I’ve ever seen on this website. From the content itself, the methodical structure of the video, the asmr narration, the nice explanation for every entry, this is simply the best gaming video on this site. This video is timeless.
I've definitely considered it, I'm just not sure how I'd go about it! I really suck at speaking live, so I'd probably just do a community post where anyone can ask a question in the comments, I compile the questions and simply do a video answering them all. That would most likely be best

You absolutely do not need to do this unless you really want to! I appreciate it very much, but that's an insane amount of time that this sort of project will take!
@@NEScRETRO Nah it's all right, i like making timestamps, and I'm watching the video anyway so it's not like I'm wasting time or anything :)
This is the first channel i've seen where the creator actively interacts with the fanbase. I really appreciate everything you do, keep it up!
@FossaKingAve I do my best to acknowledge every comment, and reply if I have anything to add/say. A lot of people think it's a bot doing it, but nope, I just check in every now and then when I'm awake lol.
@@FossaKingAve I was thinking the same thing. Great videos + creator that cares about the fanbase? Great combination lol
@@NEScRETRO yesss, true!! that's a very cool way of putting it. im surprised some folks are not a fan of them because it was probably one of my favorite aspects of the iceberg
and specially on such a diverse and subjective topic like vg myths, the small tangents adds sooooo much
This was genuinely the best iceberg video I have ever watch. It took at least a week to finish it and I enjoyed every second of it!
@@NEScRETRO youre so real for that
This video needs more views the way you make everything so relatable makes it seem like im talking to a friend and doesnt seem like an ai written script
The reality of AI creating UA-cam videos is just about the norm now, and I feel it takes a lot of personality out of the videos. Obviously, that goes without saying, but it's just becoming more widespread now, and this is really just the beginning. Soon, they'll probably be able to even edit the videos themselves.
@@NEScRETRO that's why I appreciate the video so much I have watched the same video made by others but ur personality made it better
I remember your OOT video from last year at this time, and I was planing on rewatching it, but now I can throw this in with it. 8 hours is crazy.
Watching the video brought back a memory of a myth about the Pokemon Ditto. Something about that Ditto was made from an ink spill, something on the lines of that. Awesome video I loved it!
YOOOO ive been sleeping to ur vids on repeat for like the past week again, im so glad you dropped a new video bro your content is amazing
I don't know how or why I ended up on this video, but I spent the last four days watching it while playing. Godspeed, rando UA-camr.
So happy the new video is finally here! I'd definitely say you're my favorite content creator so I always look forward to these.
I can't wait to watch through all of this and enjoy it thoroughly. Icebergs are a lot less popular than they used to be but I'm glad you're still doing them NEScRETRO, I still adore the vibes of your Iceberg videos and this niche little genre of online video. Keep up the good work! 😊
Guys, it’s true: you can unlock Waluigi in Super Mario 64 but only in the XBox 360 version.
Can confirm, you can also unlock Daisy on the PS2 version
The Sega cd exclusive is way better you get to play as baby yoshi
I know you're kidding here, but I remember a story of Mario 64 being on the Xbox Marketplace for a very short time along with Mario Kart 64
If you use a pc emulator you can play as Yoshi's dad, Yobby
You're all lame as hell
Been watching this on and off as a doze off to sleep at night now that i have wireless headphones, not only a topic i ADORE but a very nice and soothing narrator voice. Deff earned a sub lmao
Thank you so much! I always feel that my voice is kinda nasally, so I appreciate hearing that others enjoy it! It's very motivating!
You're my hero. I'm going on a very long trip, and here you are, uploading yet another huge video, an hour before my train departs. This video will certainly keep me entertained, thank you a lot
I was thinking uploading this video during this time of year would be perfect for those traveling, so I'm happy to hear you'll be using this video exactly for that!
One more thing, assuming that's Marisa in your pfp, there is a BUNCH of touhou music in this video lol
@@NEScRETRO you're absolutely correct, it is, in fact, none other than Marisa Kirisame. Gotta keep my ears peeled lol.
Art by tauminust, by the way
Thank you so much for this upload! I listen to these on my long bike rides and you have the best iceberg videos!
@Blocky4196 thank you so much! I have another video coming out in about a week or two!!
I love the high-quality vids, it really beats getting short, low-quality videos every couple weeks. Again, keep it up man!
As an iceberg deepdive lover, I have to say this is one of the best ones, if not the best I have ever watched!!
I listened to this whole video at work. Really nice not having to choose another video with the long format. I look forward to more videos from your channel. More video game centric ones I hope!
i could never make a video as long as this... amazing work!
I love the longer form videos I just love binge watching them and the help me get through my long ass breaks during college
I just watched a guy talk about random video game things for 7 and a half hours and loved every second of it.
Listened to this while studying for my mock exams, and it was such great company! I might know more about Pokémon myths now than I do about logarithmic functions, but this was such a brilliantly narrated video I don’t mind at all (even if the exam is in about four hours lmao). I loved all the anecdotes. Keep it up, this was awesome!!
YESSSS! ITS BEEN TOO LONG! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I have been using your videos as sleep aid for literally years. And like when I first discovered you I am playing Persona 5 while watching your videos. You are creating core memories. Thank you friend.
I've been a big fan of your videos since I first discovered your SM64 one when the iceberg trend was at its peak, but honestly now it feels like you really own the format. No other channel comes close to the quality, energy and passion in your videos and your style really makes you stand out from the pack. Keep up the amazing content! I look forward to watching your future uploads :)
One of the most proficient iceberg youtubers releasing a gargantuan video as I'm on Christmas break and can watch it all at once. Thank you for the drop! Happy holidays NEScRETRO!
I’m at the 3 hour mark…I have been absolutely hooked. GREAT video man! That flew by!
okay but you missed the funniest part about the nier automata church. the modders needed to keep their shit on the hush because there was this really toxic guy who steals people's work and moves to different communities. if they were open about it, the guy would start drama and modding wouldve gotten nowhere.
I can't believe this doesn't have more likes. I'm maybe a third if the way through and this is one of my favorite videos I've seen a long while. You're both to the point but also personal and seem like a cool guy.
Definitely got a sub out of me and I'm pumped to watch more of your stuff!
I still haven't finished the video since I just have to take breaks every now and then, but I love these videos and I hope you'll never stop them.
This is the longest video I've ever seen in one sitting and I really enjoyed it! It would be interesting to see another video later on explaining video game urban legends that did not make the iceberg, I'd be interested in more
That would be amazing! I'll look into it!
You’ve just made me realise that no GTA games have kids in them, which is something that totally makes sense but I never noticed before.
You deserve FAR more subscribers my guy, love your sense of humor, your work, and your very down to earth, homegrown stories. You always give me nostalgia for the playground, even with the games I never played. Best wishes for you professionally and personally for the new year and beyond.
I agree, he's using his lazy free time to his advantage. Mom leave me alone get outta my room, then he spends days uploading it. Epic
Mortal combats abacab code is actually is actually the 6 notes in repeat in the game music notes A,B,A,C,A,B small amount of already maxed out space for music data that's why. Also it's a hit album from the rockband genesis utilizing the sane notes
DUDE IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS VIDEO, I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ❤
The thing I love about NEScRETRO content is that I'll check uploads and be like, "Man, been a while, maybe they're done with UA-cam" and then 3 days later drop a 7 hour video
listened to all of this while knitting a scarf lol. great video man!! keep up the amazing work
There are so much interesting topics here, a lot that I've never even heard of. Thank you for making a really informative 7 hour iceberg video! Always looking for more of these. Great work!
NEScRETRO uploading a vid this long about such myths, urban legends, and all sorts of mysterious things in regard to classic games - is truly the perfect 👌 Xmas 🎄 present for me 😊
After many videos your voice now makes me excited to hear new game facts and myths! Happy you have a new upload :)
Unironically the most hype I've felt this entire year
Wow. I’m so impressed at the quality of the video. You’ve earned yourself a new subscriber dude
This just made my night in multiple different ways and cannot express enough how excites I am for this
best feeling in the world to be recommended a channel that makes titanically big videos
I've been so excited to see a new video of yours for a while since you're one of my favorite content creators ever!! :D
10 year old me in 2011 watching videos about herobrine genuinely terrified
UA-cam must know how much of a sucker I am for longform content to fall asleep to. The effort that must have gone into this is ASTOUNDING. Thank you for the food!!
Thank you!!! I really hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for making this video, it has helped me sleep for a month now i like having something nice to listen to 😊
Can't wait for this channel to blow up. When it does, don't sacrifice quality for quantity, your video essays are my favorite on the platform, bar none.
Dude, finally, I've been waiting for some of your videos to drop since you re uploaded your icebergs last year, lol.
Now I can see what was taking so long, haha.
Between you and SmoughTown, I have so much of the tube to watch.
Keep it up!
Dude the gameplay of Sonic 3 bonus orb level getting the third emerald was maybe the craziest shit I've ever seen???
so, that gameplay is a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) meaning that all inputs are programmed into the game beforehand to create a theoretical "perfect" playthrough, so I'm not sure if it's actually possible for a human to do that, but it definitely is fun to watch!
@@NEScRETRO oh I didn't realize it was tool assisted that makes sense lol.
I've been watching this video in 30 minutes chunks during work breaks and before bed all this week, really nice to have on to relax! The way you present these topics feels really casual, like we're two friends talking over Discord about weird video game stuff. Keep up the good work!
This is worth the wait. I can't imagine how long does it make to do something like this. Thank you!
This is hands down the best gaming video I’ve ever seen on this website. From the content itself, the methodical structure of the video, the asmr narration, the nice explanation for every entry, this is simply the best gaming video on this site. This video is timeless.
Thank you!!! That really, truly means a lot to me!
A dream come ture bro, I always use your videos for when I'm doing stuff and still be interested. THANK YOU SO MUCH POOKIE
i’ve been waiting so long for the next deeper look video, great way to end the year
You should like, a fan Q&A or something like that! Love the icebergs, keep it up!
I've definitely considered it, I'm just not sure how I'd go about it! I really suck at speaking live, so I'd probably just do a community post where anyone can ask a question in the comments, I compile the questions and simply do a video answering them all. That would most likely be best
First day back to work from the holidays and I received this last minute gift in my recommended, thank you for getting me through the workday
it made me very happy to hear you talk about the souls games, however briefly, as they are my favorite games.
Exactly what I needed to survive my shift at work, is Sunday and is slow af, thank you for your work bro
This is the best Christmas present this year, Thank You NEScRETRO
Love your work man, I have for a long while, I’d love to learn how you make such clean videos and transitions, I’m super impressed and I want to create things myself but I have no idea where to even start, much love regardless, I appreciate you
@@hectorlumbagoCringe I honestly feel very novice at video creation and learn new things along the way! You gotta start somewhere, so I encourage everyone to try, especially if you really want to!
@@NEScRETROthank you for even answering my comment man that means more than you know, I’m trying and tbh have sucked so far but I’m trying
Oh hell yeah, seven hour iceberg videos! Gonna be listening to this between gaming sessions and falling asleep for awhile.
This is 7 HOURS LONG I WAS STALKING YOUR CHANNEL LAST NIGHT REWATCHING EVERYTHING I CANT WAIT TO FINISH THIS ONE
Thank you for making these. They make the work day so much more enjoyable. I relisten to the N64 related videos all the time. Have a Happy New Year!
I started making videos because I too would use long format videos to get me through days I work, so I'm happy it helps others in the same way!
Fantastic video! I can only imagine how much time this took!
I am quite literally in the middle of listening to your TMNT iceberg video! That is a wild coincidence! Thank you so much!!
A *NEW* seven and a half hour video by NEScRETRO? Hot damn. For real, you're one of my favorite things to put on in the background when working on a project.😊
get off d lil bro he dont know u
I could have watched this for like 30 + hours lol I love these long form videos you're doing with icebergs, so many people just jump through the lists with no real explanation or research done, I know this had to be so much work but you seriously did an incredible job I really hope you don't burn yourself out and we can get more of these, I'm watching the youtube iceberg vid now lol kinda sad this ones over 😢 I binge these too much so i usually already know abt everything but you actually had new topics i had never heard of like the creature in carnivore. best iceberg video on yt frfr 💪
I've never seen your channel before and I'm only a little into the video
But THANK YOU for showing fnaf and not only not showing jump scares, but putting a note that you aren't including them. I love you ❤❤
