That strong box looks authentic. My pipe dream is a prop wagon. Wheels would be the expensive part.
Me too!! Yeah, those wheels are $$$$
We have a strong box on the train to dispense money and also return it. Real handy. Great job on building yours😊
RETURN IT???? What kind of outlaw are you, Herod?!?!?
Last time I was this early UA-cam hadn't been invented yet!
That was very crafty Santee!
Maybe turn down the notification bell so it doesn't wake you up? LOL!
Every Saturday morning I look forward to whatever strongbox full of western history you have for me.😀
Glad to hear it! LOL
A Strong Box can become a Toy Box or a Toolbox and so forth and so on so this has given me some ideas..
Good!
That’s an excellent looking strongbox you’ve got there Santee.
Thank You!
I wish my oldest brother was still alive he’d love to help me make one. This is a great video.
Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear about your brother.
@@ArizonaGhostriders thank you
You look good in your Campaign Hat and the video was very informative historically.
Thank you much!
Thank you once again Santee for an Entertaining and Educational episode of The Old West !
And thank you for keeping The OldWest alive , you scoundrel !
Why thanks!
That's a sweet looking strong box you and Dan created! Nice job. Santee you are a Jack of all trades. Have a great day!🤠
Thank You!
That's so cool, Santee. It looks like the real deal.👏🏻 You ALWAYS get the perfect audio and video clips to correlate. 🎉🎊 👏🏻🤠☀️
Thank you! Audio has been an uphill battle but after 7 years I think I got it!
That’s was a great bit of history you really locked that one up. Oh the lemon squeezer looks great. I like it
I didn't want to put a lid on the information.
Thanks for making my morning Santee and the crew!
You're welcome
Thanks for the great video. Pretty funny seeing those old clips with Dan in them.
Be safe out there, and take it easy man.
Thanks, will do!
Great job on the strong box, it came out fantastic! Now you won't get robbed when you get to the Folk In The Road. 🤣😂😂
Another great episode Santee. Thanks for sharing it.
JT
😁
Awesome strong box, Santee!
Thank You!
Great job Santee, you are versa-tile ! 🌵🚂🌵
Thank you very much! I just try things and sometimes...they work out!
Santee you boxed that episode up very strongly .
I wouldn't want you to think I was...coached.
Nice, now time to go make one for my gun cart!
Awesome!
must make one for my set too, thank you Santee.
Please do!
Thanks Santee on making strongbox, I worked with Wells Fargo stagecoach opening banks as a messenger shotgun. I have always wanted strongbox now easy ideas.
Very cool. Wells Fargo locations used to have repro boxes put out. Sure wish I could get my hands on one of those...
@@ArizonaGhostriders I agree, me too. I heard there are original out there but really hard to find. I would like to make smaller one for our ammo to carry and full size for my cowboy room.
Great labor of love. You and your family have a beautiful and blessed weekend.
Much appreciated
Very nice Santee. It's great when you can make something for yourself. The new hat looks good. Great episode! Y'all have a nice weekend! Cheers!
Thanks, Artillery Department Tim!
@@ArizonaGhostridersI like that!
Excellent work. I'm glad you use your powers for good. But you'd have to... Can't all be Dan.
Well said
Like your videos Santee , an I really like your Hat ! 😊
Thank You!
Another great episode Santee! It’s amazing how much variety of strong boxes they had back in the day.
Right??
Awesome video thanks for sharing👍🤠
You bet
Super cool topic!
Thank You!
Thank you Santee for another wonderful video.
My pleasure!
Well I found my next project! Great video, Santee!
Awesome!
Good job ( as usual) on the strongbox, amigo ! You need a 50' by 50' shop complete with leather sewing machine, a full size anvil, a table saw, and all the fixings !
I do!!
My friends and I were talking about the Boxes when your notification came in a few days ago. We talked about and and thought how terrible the idea was because any person with a Colt can open it. But again, thats the best for that time. HAHAHA. 👍👍👍
Yes, it wasn't a stellar solution!
Great video! They’d make cool accent pieces in a home too
I think so too!
Great job on that strong box !! I couldn't do it! Thanks for sharing!
You can do it!
Santee, you're a treasure chest of valuable information. Very cool how you boxed up all this history for us.
Nice chest by the way...umm, uh, your strong box not your chest, though it's purty too. lol.
Glad you enjoyed it and also happy I didn't keep a lid on the information.
Santee, I want the hat. Your hat is awesome. Looks good on you, too!!! The strongbox is superb!
Wow! I appreciate ya!
I always thought the "boot" was the canvas convered area at the rear of the coach. Excellent job building that strongbox, by the way.
Actually, both are called the 'boot.' I guess it can be confusing.
There was one on the front, too. There were two boots.
@@ArizonaGhostriders Thanks- I did not know that. I suppose the term was used in Britain where cars have boots and not trunks.
Very nice job Santee! Sometimes it's tough making something look like it's been around for a while, you pulled it off perfectly.
Thanks a bunch!
I've always liked strongboxes for some reason. I may build one soon.
Me too. I'm surprised I had the patience to make it work.
Neat! DIY Old West is always cool!
Thank You!
the hat looks good amigo
Thank You!
Great job, I have been thinking of making one myself for the Western themed Den. I think it will be the perfect touch
You should!
@@ArizonaGhostriders I think I will. I just need to go by Lowes and Ace
@@kirkmorrison6131 People with more skill than I could use real rivets and bend steel, etc. If you can do any of that, then make a great box!
@@ArizonaGhostriders I think I will get a blacksmith friend make some and cut nails
That is so cool. You are amazing and I really enjoyed this episode. Thanks Santee.
My pleasure!
Man, that looks great! Nice work! This would be great for my Halloween display. I will have to add it to my big to do list of projects. Thanks for sharing!
Please do!
That is a GREAT video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Wow! I'm glad to see you weren't boxed by the subject matter. 😉 Another fun vid.
At some point I had to put a lid on it.
Great, looking strong box Santee, thank you for sharing.
Thank you too!
My parents were antique dealers. A museum bought a box from my dad. The museum repainted it, stenciled it, and put it on display claiming it was an authentic Wells Fargo strongbox.
Sheesh! Must have been a museum that was really hurting!
I have planned to make some of these in the near future for my workshop for storage. Thank you for making this video Santee
Have fun with the build!
That's a great looking strongbox!
Appreciate it.
Very cool another great video thanks santee
My pleasure!!
Now thats a really nice box -hmmmm i wonder if i should .......... Great video as always Santee - keep on doing the great work you do... Pew Pew :) :)
Thank You!
Thanks again Santee & Co. Looks cool .
Any time!
Very cool! Now I know what I'm doing this weekend
Yay!
Awww.. was waiting for the " that's just stoopid!" Guess it wasn't stupid at all. Nice job Santee!
Thank You!
That is a very cool looking strong box you finished up. Well done ,Santee. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Much appreciated.
Great episode and strong box, Santee! Speaking of bucket lists, you should do an episode on your old west bucket list.
You really would like to see that, eh?
Hmm, I may have to keep this video on tap. It looks like a cool project for my twin grand sons in a few years.
Yeah, put 'em to work!
That was a really good job on your strongbox. It looks very authentic! Thank you for another top-notch video 🤠
So nice of you
Nice DIY box, great hat!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job on the reproduction strong box!
Thank You!
Another bang up job . Thanks!
Gracias!
I picked up a few aging (painting) tips on this video. Cheers my friend.
Glad to help
I am in the process of building a strong box of my own. Based off of a couple of different models I found online. I am building it around a cash register drawer so I can use it as a cash register/cash box.
Now that is inventive! Please send pix when done.
Nice job. Looks great.
I'm glad you like it
@@ArizonaGhostriders I like old things and things that look old. 😄👍
@@JWheeler331 I resemble that remark!
@@ArizonaGhostriders 😂😂
Thank you Santee: Nice looking box. :)

HAHAH!
I have been wanting to make or buy a strong box. They look so cool
Thank You!
Love the DIY videos!
Glad you like them!
thats cool , another awsome job thank you
You're welcome.
Very interestingly informative and inspiring video, I really liked and enjoyed it.
Great job and well done, keep up the great work.
I really got a lot of inspiration for the old west frontier, cassette futurism and Frutiger Aero/Y2K inspired story and series Mysteriarch Mythos I’m working on writing.
I’m definitely going to add stongboxes to my story and series, alongside other items from the old west.
Good!! They are fun.
Great job...
Thank You!
Great job!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Thank You!
Very cool and good job , i think i'll try to make one ...
If you are a metal worker, you could do wonders. I am not!
@@ArizonaGhostriders I do weld. So I'm going to try a metal one...
@@darinweiszbrod3823 Sweet
Canyon Diablo is a amazing place to see. You will love it!!!
Thank You!
I’m doing a ghost town in front of my house for Halloween. Might need add this next year.
Best of luck with it!
Love the diy videos
Much appreciated.
Saturday morn'n y'all
Talking about Arizona GHOSTRIDERS, coffee, boxes, and wood
...and burned money!
That's pretty cool.
Thank You!
Yet another informative yet entertaining video, Santee! Incidentally, I noticed - at times - a tyrannosaurus rex would spontaneously appear in the videos and always thought of the 1969 monster movie western entitled 'The Valley of Gwangi'. I was wondering if you could ever make a video reviewing and discussing it, perhaps pointing out the historical accuracies (if any)? This would be great!
Of Valley of the Gwangi? I can do that at some point.
Quite an innovative process. That's thinking out of the box! 🙄
Better than keeping a lid on it!
🤣🤣@@ArizonaGhostriders
They say there is a strong box buried in Silverado Canyon California. Stage robbery around 1900. Well that's what my GrandFather told me. BTW fine looking peaked hat
Thank You!
Still rocking the campaign hat!
Thank You!
Nice job!
Thank You!
Looks good 👍
Thanks 👍
Great video Santee
Much appreciated, Led!
nice job
Thank You!
Reminds me a little of a seaman's chest except those were not really strongboxes. You did some fine work on that and especially the antiquing. Heck, I can't spell.
All good!
Great video!
Thank You!
Brad Pitt wants you to tell us again, _"What's in the box!?"_ 🤠
HA!
Another amazing video. Could you please do a video about ponchos in the old west
I have!
great vidio sir
Thank You!
Very cool ❤❤
Thank You!
Great Video, Now about that new hat.
Looks great. Cost way to much. Shame to get dirty. I'm the same way. HOWEVER, that hat needs to get dirty and I mean "RIGHT NOW".
It's gonna happen anyway, so let's get bizzy.❤
For a 100% beaver hat (dress weight hats are 100% pure beaver) mine is a great deal. Most hatters sell them for about $800 and up.
Since I wear it almost every day in the elements it will get dirty and worn soon. Don't you worry!
Nice build Santee. Were strong boxes filled and then not opened until it reached it's destination point? It does make sense that robbers would bust open the lock and divvy up the contents depending on how full that box was. Makes me wonder just how heavy a full strong box could weigh? Most tv/movie scenes make it look like it was easy to toss that box down to the ground :))
So did stage coach manufacturers ever make a secret compartment to hide the strong box
in?
They would have no reason to even use a strongbox unless it had to do with money or buillion. Yeah, it was easy to take the stagecoach and the driver/messenger couldn't do much to stop them.
I wonder how often they’d be used as chairs, given how sturdy they are. If I were making my own stage coach I might just disguise it as the seat and cushion it with a folded up wool blanket.
Probaby just as comfortable.
