I enjoy his rdr2 videos but this kind of thing is just awesome. Like the one when they made flip or a buffalo chip fire.
Thanks, Logan!
I agree, I was raised being a war of 1812 re-enacted because of my dad and his friends, and they would make little projects like this all the time.
It warms my heart to see people passionate to keep history alive
Agreed
Fantastic video and work! I would be interested in seeing more things like this. 👍
This is such a dying art in this world of mass produced Tupperware. I feel people would still appreciate these types of craftsmanship.
I like knowing that this thing can be used by my great-grandchildren. Heck, you can still use the originals from the 1800s. Over engineered and built to last. Few things are nowadays.
Love this so much. You dad's energy is contagious and the strongbox turned out super legit. Really well done!
Thank you, my friend! Yeah, you'll need to meet him in person some day. He's a fun, high motor, fascinating guy.
Wow. You are truly a “man’s man”. You make Chris Pratt in the Jurassic movies look like a Hairdresser. Well done.
Ha! This is hilarious.
I love the time and passion put into this! Also lovely to see Dad vs History again!
When I was starting out in old west Re-enactor, I volunteered with Wells Fargo Stagecoach with a stagecoach opening their banks. I have always liked stagecoach’s & covered wagons. Therefore Wells Fargo strong boxes intrigued me. Never saw one being made. Good job enjoyed video.
Very cool, Kenny!
@@ManvsHistory I appreciate your nice words.
Audio is fantastic
Damn that is a beautiful strongbox!
I splurged on a whole new audio setup. Should dramatically improve things moving forward!
That burly cedar is legit! Great job!
The cedar switch up was a good choice. Beautiful.
Thank you, my friend! Hope you're doing well, man!
I would so love to make one of these myself as I’m doing a bit of interior design for my new place and I would love to have this for some smaller storage
Love watching people using there hands to craft things it never gets old , great video really enjoyed it .
Thanks, John!
next project should be - making one with period-accurate tools :P
Damn - you beat me to it... 😆
Oh man... The rivets alone would be beyond my capabilities.
Love it!
Ok, new idea. Historical accuracy of the costume of the cowboy in the Village People... go!
That's a beautiful Historical Art piece.
Seems you saved the best for last!
The final take TOTALLY shoulda been the opener!
Indeed! Good to see you, Cleemz!
I love learning about the old west from this channel, thanks MvH
That came out amazing. Museum quality, amigo. Very impressive and accurate.
Thank you, my friend! You guys keep doing what you're doing! Love your stuff.
Now all ya need is the dog to sit atop it! Also, completely understand the allure of cedar-wood, as it is not only beautiful and aromatic, but it'll keep the valuables free from pests. I'm curious as to what you're gonna use the box for now? What a blessing to do a fun project with your Dad. God bless ya!
Thank you, my friend! Yeah, it's funny... I have no idea what I'm going to keep in there. She's a tank... 40 lbs EMPTY, so I'm guessing nothing that weighs too much.
Nice craftsmanship fellow Iowan!!! Your Dad REALLY sold it towards the end of the video.
Next MAJOR project should be making a historically accurate wagon! I'd think that would be cool.
Thanks, Thomas!
These vids are so relaxing but still keep you engaged and not asleep
Thanks, man! Glad to hear that!
Good grief, that's some pretty cedar on the inside. Love it when I can smell a video. Job well done.
I stick my head in there at least once a day.
Now you you just gotta make the stagecoach haha!
Thanks for this video!
Oh man... no chance!
😂😬💕
Great video, love your work. I'm lazy to post much so. This is sooooo cooool.
Thanks, Jay! Great to see you again!
Absolutely fantastic!
loving this video only complaint i have is you dont make enough videos i know the stuff you make takes time because of the quality of your content but sheesh you make us wait to long for videos lol but loving every thing you do
Thanks, buddy. And it's all good... I completely understand where you're coming from on the content trickling out slowly... It's sometimes frustrating on both ends. But between full-time teaching, writing my men's self-development program, and prepping for my first child entering the world next month, I regrettably only have so much time. Still, there's more content to come. So stay tuned.
So kool to see your dad again. Another awsome video👍👍more videos with dad please👍👍
Yeah, for sure. We've been trying to do another 'Big Game Chronicles' video for months now... hopefully soon!
Nice work. Fellow canoeist here and I just watched a few videos from your channel back to back. Great content!
Thanks, partner! Very cool.
I know this is a 3 month old video but I loved this and am falling in love with your channel. Thank you for all your time and passion.
Really appreciate that, Kiwi! Thank you!
You knew just what my day needed. Really enjoyed seeing you guys put this together and it came out looking fantastic!
I love the soundtracks you use for your videos
I really love the "Binford" hat!!! I know I am a geek to notice that LOL
Good eye! Yeah, the Binford hat provides more power to everything that you do. You actually work 15% more efficiently as well... it’s science.
I love building things too especially with wood like bridges and boxes and other stuff
Damn UA-cam! Didn’t get the notification for this gem of a video 😆 I love these occasional videos in real life like this. Hope all is well MvH! Cheers 🥂
Good to see you again, old friend.
This project turned out AMAZING! You got all the details perfect! I tip my hat to ya, sir!
Thank you, Bond!
Wow this is really unbelievable. I’m super jealous. I’d love to make one of these or even buy one. Awesome video.
This was very cool!
As soon as you connected the lid with the actual box and you opened it instantly reminded me of the RDR2 character opening strongboxes in game. You did such a good job with it, well done
Thank you, Alex!
This is so cool! I have always been fascinated by strong boxes and old safes. I've always wanted one of these for myself but like you said its an arm and a leg to get one. Best video so far in my opinion.
Thanks, Ryan. Really appreciate that, brother.
It ain't right how you can produce whatever content you want, and I like it no matter what! 👏
Happy to hear that, Dan.
Might have to add this to the project list with students this year! Excellent video my friend, hope you've been well!
Good to see you, old friend!
I think Rockstar hid Madam Nazar in one of these boxes today...
That's a very good build.
Excellent work! Fine job
Hey friend, first time stopping by the channel in awhile, I see that there's plenty of new (to me) content to enjoy. I just wanted to say I hope that life finds you and your loved ones well in these times. I greatly enjoy the variety of content you bring to us.
Thank you, Wings! Mighty kind, old friend!
Wow, fantastic, a work of art. Great video! 💯
@Man vs.History Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you, David!
I'm liking the look of this
How could I NOT give this video an instant like
Well done. Love the out-takes! Phil cracks me up!!
This is amazing. If you have details of these boxes, I would love to make one. I look forward to seeing what else you make 😊 and as always, stay safe
That strongbox looks so cool
I have a suggestion for a video. You could make a day in the life of a trapper or mountain man. I love your videos, continue what you’re doing👏🏻😄
Plz do more of these creation videos, there super good
Amazing work! Looking forward to more of this type of videos. It's always a pleasure to watch your uploads. Thank you!
Love your wholesome and creative content, really bring me joy whenever I see one of your videos.
Hey I just want to thank you and anyone else who helps make your videos I’m happy you make this kind of content so keep up the good work and you have my subscription👍 your dad is so amazing I can’t wait for the next video goodbye cowpoke.
Thanks, Scale! I appreciate the sub!
Such a great video! Thank you for this!
your dad killed that intro that was epic
Ha! Indeed! I'll tell him you said so. He'll get a kick out of that.
The Emperor was HERE
Loved the history in the video, and Papa MvH was fun and hilarious! This was great
Outstanding build! 🙂
That’s an awesome project!
Love your work as usual. Question for your father if he ever sits down for story time again, did he ever have a big hunt that got away? Like ‘the one that got away’. Cheers and looking forward to the next one!
Awesome video! I’d love to see more videos like this, as well as videos out in the wild again. Keep up the good work👏🏻😄
Will do, Candy.
I would love for R* to put this kind of effort into some new content.
Ha! Let's hope so.
Looks so cool
Make sure to tell your old man he’s awesome for me! Great vid as usual.
What a fun video and what a sick box
looks amazing!! such a nice piece
This is truly something special it’s always a good day when I see that man vs history has uploaded and just the little thing get me happy about this channel. This man ,I am truly sorry that I don’t use your name, takes his time to apologize for the wrong wood for his box. This is honestly something I would love to do with my dad in my spare time but it’s always nice to see someone doing something like that.
I am so sorry if this was incredibly illiterate but thank you for your time and have a good day
Ha! No, Jack, I appreciate the kind words, man! Thanks for watching and commenting!
That looks incredibly well made - good job and very inspiring to us less-DIY-capable viewers
Well Done!
Amazing content!
Great video! Keep up the great work! ❤️
We’ve already watched you make a bbq by using bison droppings as fuel and It was great, Will you keep going down that western gastronomy lane and maybe show us how to make a real western stew out in the Wild (or at least try some canned Salmon 😃)
amazingg, love the outfit videos but really enjoyed this too
Amazing stuff thank you for delivering such a wonderful content. Have you ever though about showcasing some of the rifles of the old frontier, and maybe doing something like a top to butt review and some demonstration of reload and shooting with it .
Something along those lines is coming down the pipe. At least some hands-on historical firearms content. Stay tuned.
Love your videos, I may not be American but the wild west to be such an interesting period in history. I am happy to see you branching out of Red Dead Online, and sharing with us interesting stuff like this.
you made my day with your video
Happy to hear that, David!
This looks incredible!
This is great
Yoo this is so cool
Amazing
This is my favorite channel
Mighty kind of you, thanks, Will!
Wow
Now build own using 1800s techniques and tools.
Your dad's enthusiasm is 😚👌💋
He's high motor!
Omg I’m going to try and make one for my work gear
If you do, send some pics my way. I'd love to see what you come up with.
Let’s goooooooo man vs history I was waiting les goooo
7:25…those are some big honking hinges.
I love the box, hate Wells Fargo. I'm gonna build a strong box but the stenciling will read, "Smells Fartgo".
wholesome

Do a video on the pets of the west and breeds for what job please that do pretty good
Such a pleasure to watch true Renaissance men at work! Beautiful!😍 And fine camera-work and editing. 😉

Niiice!🤙
Your the Man bro! Love what you do and love this channel. I’m obsessed with RDO and hoping we get more contact.Do you think we’re getting more updates? Iyour the right person to ask but I know rockstar quiet about what they put out but hope we do.
Unfortunately I don't know any more than you do.
One of the coolest things ever
Thanks, partner! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@ManvsHistory so right now im 13 but when im older i think i might buy myself a cabin somewhere in the woods and live off fishing and finding berries. Do you think that‘s a good idea.
@@CooldonkeyB You’re the author of your own story, man. You decide the life you live. If that’s what you want, then go after it. Just be smart and learn everything you can from others who’ve done it successfully. Even if you decide to do something different the advice still holds true. Best of luck!
@@ManvsHistory thanks for those inspiring words
That's just wow
I appreciate that!
❤️
Hey, i watch your rdr2 vids & I was wondering if you've seen the show called that dirty black bag? If you like rdr & westerns I think you'd love it. There's another 1 called 1883 also. They're pretty new shows, there's only 4 episodes of that dirty black bag so far.
