    Dorian Yates said in an interview somewhere (possibly Joe Rogan and not word for word) that his bodybuilding career was just that, a career. Once he retired he went onto a healthier, fitness focused training as he knew he couldn't sustain that size for the rest of his life.

    • @matty6848
      @matty6848 2 роки тому +2

      yes your right. For Dorian being a bodybuilder was very matter of fact for him. He found a way he could earn good money and reach his goals through bodybuilding and he looked at it in a very business sense of way.

He was extremely friendly and we never felt like he was anybody special...just a genuine man...very real. I met Kevin Lerone when I worked for Larry Scott and I can't say the same for him...however, in fairness...Günter was there guest posing and Kevin was competing at the Arnold's and obviously would have been under much more stress...that would have be 1995 or 96. Show me anybody who is playing soccer football baseball or running the 100 meter at the age of 50 60 70 or 90 I don"t know anybody. All of us getting older but I know many bodybuilders at the age at 40 50 60 & even 70 and they look even better than anybody else. Also me at the age of 61 !!! Bodybuilding saved my life and Big Arnie is my idol ... for ever. In our age many people are already dead ... don't forget !!! I love bodybuilding & powerlifting the best sports in the world. 😊😊😊

      My friend, as Sinatra would sing: That's life. I see these guys as models for willpower, but I won't go up their path in steroid escalation, God willing. But as far as I can reach, God willing, again, I will. My real MODEL is Richard Lupkes. 62 years old and a BIG, BIG, GOOD MAN.

      "Do not exult over the good things ( of this world ) We have given to you, because they are coming to an end, and do not despair over the difficulties which have beset
      you ( in this life) because they too are coming to an end."
      The Holy Quran.
      You are absolutely right to comment on the transitoriness of the blessings or good things of this world. The Holy Quran expands on this concept to apply it to the privations or evil things of this world too as being temporary.
      This is a comfort and a reassurance to those who are suffering now and see no end to it.
      This is why this Quran is rightly treasured by a billion and a half Muslims. The wisdom is eternal and is THE guidance to mankind.

    The body is not made to sustain that amount of muscle. That is why the body corrects itself after they stop. It's not permanent.

      Ligaments and tendons are the weak link, so eventually the overdeveloped muscle mass will break the weaker links in the body structure.
      Also, vertebrae compression will occur in super heavy sets and the discs will fail at some point.
      Clint Eastwood character Dirty Harry in Magnum Force movie, "A man's got to know his limitations."
      So true....

    • @jsalemi9711
      @jsalemi9711 3 роки тому +3

      Your right on, depending on genetics your body usually isn't made to sustain heavy weight for long periods of time. The rear winners are the lifters that are natural and still lifting , not the roid users that at a older age having no gains and health issues. Look at Arnold, his body is burned out from roids. His muscles will not grow any longer due to damage to his organs which will never heal. You ask yourself do I have a little man syndrome or am I going to work my ass off to get where I want going natural? Of course one can never get to the point of a roid user and if your really into living a healthier life why would you want to go that route?

    • @HumanGorillaHormone
      @HumanGorillaHormone 5 років тому +2

      Ronnie would've lost the weight anyway...just under different circumstances of course.
      Staying big as u get older is what puts the major stress on these guys hearts. Hence why they ALL downsize after they retire. Healthier, less upkeep, and Sooo much more comfortable.
      This coming from a guy who has been 406lbs and dusted down to 263lbs in 10.5 months. Even 263 isnt that light for my height (6'3-6'4)
      Longevity wise once I'm done blasting gear and competing I'll try to stay in the 240s.

    • @HumanGorillaHormone
      @HumanGorillaHormone 5 років тому +1

      @Bruce Leroy steroids really arent that bad for u at all. High body mass is hard on everything of course but most ppl who tske steroids are under 200lbs
