The aesthetic, music, gameplay, this is really looking to be something truly special. The Castlevania and Links Awakening vibes especially this is SO COOL looking forward to seeing how it develops!
You can still really hear the "Shovel Knight" style feeling from the music while still maintaining its own identity. Still sounds great! Another trailer soon would be awesome!
This is like if Castlevania had a top-down game in the style of Link's Awakening. Very impressive looking and I'm looking forward to more news about this project.
Ya Yacht Club said they didn't wanna be known as the Shovel Knight guys it was kind of ironic cause at the time they were making shovel knight "rip-offs".
I love how Yacht Club Games is going through different classic 80's game genres. Shovel Knight is a Mega Man and Zelda II style platformer with light RPG elements, Cyber Shadow is a fast-pased Ninja Gaiden platformer with intense bosses, and now we have Mina the Hollower with a Zelda-like dungeon crawler gameplay. Really excited for all the other ideas you guys have cooking up in your fantastic minds
I've honestly had this video on loop for hours. This soundtrack absolutely slaps. This game is looking so promising from visuals to gameplay to soundtrack. Looking forward to it so much!
Looks delightful! The original Shovel Knight was such a fun creative game, I'm so excited to see another original project. And I'm glad you're finally rich enough to put anti-aliasing on your yacht.
Beyond the impeccable looking gameplay, I am insanely excited to get my hands on this soundtrack. I need a full version of whatever this song is yesterday.
This game looks like an evolution of the Capcom zeldas I loved. It is amazing to see how fast paced the fighting is and how much there is to explore in gameplay
I didn't know I had an aesthetic until you captured and presented it just now. I've already watched this 4-times, the visuals and soundtrack are astounding, and I trust you to make the gameplay feel golden. Backed.
I really love how Mina looks cute and cool at the same time. I can’t wait to get my hands on this, I have really been itching to play another top down Zelda like game with some real polish to it for quite a while.
Mina The Hollower and Sea of Stars are definitely both something I’m really looking forward to playing in the future! The trailer music is fantastic. And I can’t wait to hear the full OST! And the pixel art visuals are very inspiring for me. Can’t wait to play this!
As someone who grew up on the Zelda Oracle games, loved Shovel Knight, and recently gained a strong appreciation for Castlevania and Dark Souls...this is easily one of those cases of "I didn't know I was craving this." I AM SO FREAKING PUMPED!!
Looks goooood. i like the burrowing mechanic already, and I love how we're getting another OST from Virt. I also love friggin Link's Awakening, it remains my favorite game, and I've been waiting for an indie dev to bring something new to life from it in a way that can be potently felt. The writing in King of Cards was so playful and hilarious, so I hope we get to see some more of that masterful ludonarrative charm in this upcoming title.
I am shocked that yacht club games saw my most recent appreciation for top down Zelda. This truly has the potential to be another out of the park hit for this studio and I couldn’t be happier.
Just seeing the gameplay has me hyped, it looks really tight, intense and dynamic to fight. Definitely the type where after completely trashing and enemy you think "Man I'm so cool."
Of course they'd reach their goal in only a few hours. Looks amazing! I always loved the gameboy games. They always had such a special feel to them and this looks like no exception. It's incredible how you guys can take that same experience and just turn it up a notch.
Games don’t normally draw an emotional response from me. But I cried at the end of Shovel Knight. It was the best NES game I never played. It made my heart ache with nostalgia. I could tell somebody put a lot of love into Shovel Knight. I expect big things from Mina too. The trailer looks fantastic. I’ll be anticipating the release.
No fucking way! A modern release of a game embodying the style of the old Capcom Zelda Gameboy Games!!!! Holy shit would have never imagined I’d see something like this again
This really gives me hype looking like a mix of the aesthetics of shovel knight and gameplay like the legend of Zelda I'm definitely getting this when it releases
Man, this looks brilliant. Shovel Knight ended up being one of my favorite games and now it looks like you're giving the same treatment to Link's Awakening, which is another one of my favorite games. If that's not worthy of my money I don't know what is. I thought the amazing music sounded like Jake's work, having confirmed that it IS Jake's work I just need to say that WOW, the man is killing it AGAIN.
I usually save up my money but it took no time of thinking to know I had ti throw some huge support your way after all that joy shovel knight gave me over the years. I’m so truly excited for this release already and can’t wait ti see the journey along the way
This shit genuinely looks amazing. Minish Cap or OoA/OoS but more fluid gameplay and insane mechanics in a top-down adventure game with puzzles. RELEASE ALREADY!!!
First we game a mario-like platformer, then we get a card game, now we have a zelda-like game, what is next? I have high hope for this company in the future.
Ueah it's a shame. People usually either go for early NES or full on SNES,, but with more detailed backgrounds. Though now we're getting indie games in the style of PS2 era graphics. Likely because people who grew up with those games are now old enough to be game developers and they want make games like the ones they grew up playing.
As someone who loved The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (it was my first Zelda game in fact), Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, the Castlevania series, and Mole Mania on the Game Boy (the dig mechanic made me think of that game), this basically has me almost as hyped as the original Shovel Knight, if not moreso!
They’ve already stated they have the funds for it by their own company, the Kickstarter is just meant to make sure the game can be the best it can be along with adding extra content from the stretch goals being reached.
For a studio named after an aquatic vessel you guys sure do make a lot of games about digging.
The aesthetic, music, gameplay, this is really looking to be something truly special. The Castlevania and Links Awakening vibes especially this is SO COOL looking forward to seeing how it develops!
And a splash of Zelda 2 with that Bone Up! leveling thing.
I just hope my Zelda curse doesn't extend to this game, and I'm actually able to finish it 😅
@@VinceMouse Oracle of Ages since it had more content.
I really really just hope to Christ this isn't a rogue-lite at all and is just...mouse Zelda.

You mean like the long running "X" of Mana series?????
I swear, that series gets slept on like my mom on a Thursday night.
You forgot the symilarities with a certain movie too
*cough* Secrets of NIMH *cough*
This only need like Rondo of Blood-style item crash attacks and I'll be far more sold!
As much as I like Shovel Knight, a brand new IP that looks this good is so much more exciting than a sequel or spinoff
I would have been thrilled had they just announced "Shovel Knight 2" instead, but this has me over the moon. It looks incredible!
I’d actually like a shield knight sequel

Cybershadow was made by Mechanical Head Studios. Yacht Club Games published it.
Shovel Knight is first of all a NES Duck Tales style platformer.

as someone who loved shovel knight so much to the point where I bought it on 3 platforms I am HYPED for this game.
As an avid metalhead who LOVED the previous Shovel Knights and Gameboy Zeldas, this hits ALL of the pleasure spots in my brain. :D
That horse driver is going to make me headcanon that this takes place in the same universe as Shovel Knight and NO ONE is gonna stop me!

This feels like a mashup of A Link to the Past and Mole Mania and I'm all for it 👍 the character designs are wonderful too

Being able to go under water is such a refreshing mechanic for these kinds of games where normally you just die
That is something you can do on the gameboy Zelda games this is inspired from (also jumping). But diving in the soil is new

After Silksong this is now definitely my most anticipated indie game. You guys rule!
