    Yeah your channel does help out when it comes to cutting corners. I would rather have that one that is fully loaded that was on your channel. You could always spend the money on the frame and forks later.

    I don't mind the larger size complete bikes as there is an audience for them. It's good to see the forks feature a 1-piece steerer tube given the price tag (*Glares at the Cult Devotion). Really think it should come with a drive-side hub guard or even hub guards all around. While the geometry may not be great for double whips, I feel it would be great for bowl carving and often feel that gets left out if a bike has more mellow geometry. Like if it rides trails well, it will probably carve bowls and ramps like a boss, too. I agree that the Colony Endeavour is a fair comparison but am pretty certain the Endeavour doesn't come with Wasp hubs as you mentioned?. They're decent sealed hubs but not Wasps. Shout out to Dennis. Friggin' champion!

      DB: "Enarson Sig, not .. for people who like to ride park"
      Enarson: *Shuts down Vans Pro Tour.*
      I agree, it's a bit of a conflicting approach to talk of disciplines in such a narrow way. Better to categorise by style. You can go fast and big in street and park. Or go super tech. Geo is about stability, agility and response. Better to use those than generalise by the location you're riding at.

    • @Dougsterbob
      @Dougsterbob  2 роки тому

      @@Sharpened_Spoon I definitely see your point Josh! However, the people that I make content for are most definitely not anywhere near Logan or Dennis’ level of riding. Logan and Dennis both have over a decade of riding experience with insane amounts of bike control. They have had years to change and perfect the geometry to match their personal riding style. (Which we can both agree is different for everyone) For a brand new rider it’s so much easier to generalize these things since their first bike will absolutely not be the same bike that they are riding a few years later. Over those next few years they will make upgrades and changes based on their own experience and goals. So the generalization is to take away some of the “analysis paralysis” that most people are faced with when trying to buy a new bike. Now I definitely agree that within each discipline there are sub-disciplines that are so opposite. (Corey Walsh park riding vs Daniel sandavol park riding) and this was an issue with my scoring system because it added to much ‘weight’ to the score based on geometry and I have changed that to reflect a more accurate score. I think your biggest issue with my content is the generalization but I hope you can see why it has to be that way. Either way I love the input. Helps me be better and stronger in spreading the mission. 👏 merry Christmas bro

    Very nice videos your making! Informative and analytical. All though I didn’t find any video about forks on your channel, I guess this bike is gonna have some long offset forks aswell…but I’d like to see a video about forks and how much it affects your riding maybe having video samples for the viewers…

    Hey Doug, great to see you again. I have wondered about standover height recently. Example, 7,7 vs 9". What difference it eould make? Thanks

    • @kirkwickham3336
      @kirkwickham3336 3 роки тому

      Lower standover helps with tailwhips, double whips. Park bikes generally have a lower standover height. It also makes your bike look like a scooter so best to avoid anything under 9". Jokes but for real :P

    • @ariantafti4341
      @ariantafti4341 3 роки тому

      lower stand over: easier to get your feet off the bike = better for tailwhips etc
      higher stand over: easier to pinch the seat for tricks like bars spins and suicide no handers

    Doug.....Haro measures the seat tube differently, look at the picture on their website. You can see it in the diagram. I can eyeball that and tell you its 8.75-9.00. Additionally....13.7 is not that long, it's literally the perfect length if you want 4 pegs and no foot hangups and super stable on long jumps. 13.7 is stable at high speed but still modern imo. And it looks like that's a center measurement. 13.5 slammed.

    • @orangeblue3531
      @orangeblue3531 3 роки тому +2

      Damn..... good eye homie. I actually have the Haro SDv2 frame and you're right. The SO is 8.7" (measured from the center of BB to center of TT, which is the industry standard way of measuring SO) and the CS is 13.5 slammed. You're also right about them measuring the SO differently. The 10.2" they specify is measured from the center of the BB to the top of the seat tube. Checked it on my frame myself. However on Haro's website in the specs for their CK frame, they indicate that the SO is measured from the center of BB to center of TT. Perhaps this inconsistency is what makes people steer away from HARO?

      @@orangeblue3531 So I've been out of BMX for about 2 years now but I'm super motivated and inspired to ride again.. Dennis is my favorite rider and before i took a break from riding I spent about $1700 building up my bike to be basically a Twin of Dennis's bike.. (Haro with Demolition/Markit parts) Buuut at that time I could never find his SDV2 in stock ANYWHERE!! Lol So instead of his frame I have Mattias's Haro La Bastille frame.. GREAT frame! Mattias said he designed the LA Bastille after Dennis's SDV2 , with a slightly steeper head tube (75.5) and of course a shorter back end. (13.2 Slammed) it's a great, very responsive and snappy frame. Anyway.. lol I'm hoping to find a SDV2 now that I'm riding again. If I can't find a SDV2 I may just go with his new SDv3 that recently came out. I just really like the V2.. I'm pretty much only ride street, but I'm almost 6'5 so I think his frame would be perfect. If you don't mind (just whenever you find time) How is your experience with the V2? Thanks so much and I apologize to ya'll for the super long comment. Lol 👊✌️🤘

    • @jameswall1987

      I have it. Only thing I don't like is that the forks aren't the Kearly signature forks and I bent the cranks real fast, but I only do air tricks and land hard alot so it was bound to happen. It's super light and is super responsive(I slam my rear wheel all the way)I'm 5"9 and it took me a little bit to get in tune with it at first, but now it's 720s and double whips all day long. It's 800 bucks, if moneys not an issue and You want it then buy it but honestly I'm going back to kink after my CK Am is done. I had a kink downside(kink renamed it this year and I don't know what it's called now, but it's the bike that costs 500 dollars) before the CK but it got stolen. It's almost identical to the CK as far as frame geometry and all the same parts( double walls, freecoaster, sealed everything etc.) But in my opinion were higher quality than the haro and premium brand parts( kink parts were more resilient) The Ck is dope though too, the blue camo looks really good. All parts break eventually but the kink parts will last a little longer. With that in mind and if the price tag isn't an issue, I'd recommend the CK, I shredd on it. But also check out the current 500 dollar kink, it has the same feel as the CK, better quality as far as the parts go and is 300 bucks cheaper.

      @@jameswall1987 thanks tons for the information. I will look into the kink for sure. The bike you mentioned is probably the Whip. The difference in price is pretty big and as you mentioned, eventually they all breakdown and when you consider that, the 300 bucks and parts last a little longer, it is one heck of a deal.
      Thanks once again for the information!

      Your spokes may be loose? It's common with new wheels. If you're unsure about how to tighten them, return the bike to where you bought it and ask if they can tighten them for you. Better yet, buy a spoke tensioner, watch a UA-cam video and learn how to tighten them yourself. Loose spokes leads to flat tyres or worse, damaged rims.
