This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Sounds unbelievable when turned up all the way, or turned down and then pushed with a fuzz pedal. I can't recommend it enough.
Finally, this amp is going to be available! I had asked about the Dirt Road Special when I saw it in the 2018 catalog. Never got a reply. Glad it is happening. I will be buying as soon as it can be ordered, or found in music stores. Made my day!
I had the original Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special from the 70's and what a great amp for a kid in his first band. It kept up with all the other members gear and the crashing loud drummer. The original had the Small Stone Phase in it which was cool, but the new version with the reverb seems more versatile. I'm actually selling a few amps to make room for this one. I have to have it. It's a blast from MY past and it really help define my first "sound". I want it back now, some 40 years later. That's EH and thanks for making a great demo of this wonderful little under rated amp. Mike was a genius.
Dang I want this! Sounds awesome, and that reverse reverb is pretty sick, as well as the bite control. Would love to run some synths into it too, the bite control would be nice for sculpting extra harmonics from the drive. Yummy..
Hello, thank you very much for your demo, it really is great. But I need a question, I see that the amp doesn't have much clean to work with pedals, right? I see at the beginning of the demo that even with the volume low at around 10 o'clock, the amp is already breaking down. it's right? Isn't there enough clean to work jazz with a trio?
@EHX I got Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special some time ago, but I think that is was modded by previous owners. Any way I can get schematics for it? I would like to restore original configuration, as much as possible.

This is a really raw sounding amp it’s awesome!! The video doesn’t do it justice. And it’s great for blues 😎👍🎸
I think this thing sounds freaking awesome. I want one bad!
Finally, a solid-state amp i can play with my pedals.
Great demo, and you know what? I really love it, I'm getting one!!! Nice one
Please drop a note to the techs. They can help you out fast info@ehx.com
The part with the Soul Food actually gave me goosebumps
Nice playing man, great chops and cool amp.
Nice clean & good drive.....When say it ain't soo meet under the bridge
The Dirt Road sounds amazing!
If some one told me this was an Orange amp, I would believe them. Thing is magical AF
Sounds good to me. I wonder if it's possible to make a really small, portable head model. (These are popular nowadays)
I need an efx loop. But the effort is noble building this nice amp.
The new big muff looks great
They also need to make a version that's voiced more for hard rock and metal players.
Its called a distortion pedal lmfao
They have the Mig head coming soon, I believe.
Electro-harmonix make all sorts of pedals for those types of sounds you should give them a try.
WANTS !!! To go with my Mig-50 even.
Holy duck. It's just awsome
Holy fuck I want this amp
This will definitely be the next amp I get!
Nice selection of riffs to demo the amp
So glad this is finally being released! Next, can you reissue one of your classic drum machines, EHX? Pretty please?
damn, watching these videos is dangerous, i want this

I feel like this would be a nice amp for a Wurlitzer, or synth. I would be curious to see how this thing reacts to a line level signal.
Very good point, has anyone tried this?
Nice demo,good guitarist.
Is this strong enough for a band practice with a drumset?

Great clean tones
how similat is it to the freedom amp?
Wow! Great for Platform pedals just in pure clean or it break too early?
Is this the same reverse reverb algorithm that’s on the Ocean’s series pedals? It sounds excellent.
Elmer
Yes, the Reverse reverb algorithm is the same in the Cathedral, Dirt Road Special, and Oceans 11/12.
I love it

Tom shreds!!
I like it!
Very nice. If the price is right, I might pick one up.
Looks like it's $395, at least at this dealer: www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-EHX-DIRTROAD
Yes!!!
How much does it weigh, though?
Gotta say, the time knob is a nice touch.
34 pounds
@@EHX thanks a lot!
couple questions: is this loud enough for small gigs? does it have an effects loop? if not, will it stay clean enough up to high volume to use delays?
Yes and no loop
I bought one and yes, can't turn it up enough to drive it ..!
Is this voiced to be reminiscent of a Bassman like the MIG-50 or is this going for its own thing?
It's based on the original SS Dirt Road Special EH made in the 1970s.
Is there any way to hook up headphones?
No there isn't one, and I don't know how no one responded to your perfectly logical question. This isn't really a practice amp.
Wow
Does it fit on top of the MIG 212 cab?
Most amps with Reverb just have 'depth.' The fact that you can control the timing makes it into more of a Delay effect.
Demo with harmonica ?
Can this go fully clean at maximum volume? Headroom?
How much more of my money do you animals need?
ALL OF THE MONEYS
Street price?
Looks pretty amazing!
$399
Dang! If it was 299 I'd bite! For now a little out of my range! Cool amp!
How much is the weight of this amp? It's sounds interesting.
34lbs
@@EHX the ad said 29 lbs.
I hope he was wearing ear plugs, this amp gets so loud.
EHX - here is my money! take it and give me one of this amp quick....

Does it have power attenuation?
Its a Solid State Amp , Needs no attenuator .

богдан Корнеенко it’s a clean amp...doesn’t really need it

But you make tubes. You should amplify them. It does sound good though.
