H&R Sports and Dinan Supplemental Ride Quality Kit Installation | F30 328i | 4K

- In this second video on Vision Garage, I provide a step by step installation tutorial of the H&R Sport Springs coupled with Dinan's Supplemental Ride Handling kit (bump stops) for the F30 328i xDrive. I originally ordered the Dinan springs, but they were having quality control issues and did not have a timeline on when the next shipment would be ready. Dinan puts the job at 8hrs and it took me around 6hrs to install. Shops in the Denver / Colorado Springs area were quoting me $600 - $1200 for the job, so I opted to do it myself. It is time consuming but not that technical for the average wrencher. The H&R sports lower the F30 xDrive 1 inch in the rear and 1.5 inches in the front for a level 25 inches from floor to fender. I will be doing a video on how they ride in an up and coming video. This is my daily, carrying a family of four with two toddlers in the rear. I hope you enjoy and that this vid is helpful for anyone contemplating this setup. Driving impressions coming soon!
NOTE: Sorry I neglected to mention this, but make certain to get an alignment or at least get an alignment check after changing your springs, especially when changing your ride height. Most automotive shops charge around $70 for a four wheel alignment, or if you opt for the dealership they will charge you around $170. Driving with an improper alignment can cause uneven tire wear and may cause other suspension components to wear faster and/or become damaged!

Thanks for documenting the installation. Will be using it to install my Eibach Pro kit this weekend. Earned a subscriber!
Not a problem man. I have had the Eibach pro kit now for about 8 months and it is a much more comfortable ride while still giving you a slightly lower stance. 👍🏽
@@visiongarage277 Thanks for replying. I have an f30 335i xdrive and I am about install the RWD version of Eiback. 1.4 to 1.6" drop. It is gonna be an experience.
@@kamolnarbaev4490 Yeah, for the 328i xDrive the Eibach pro kit is only a .8 rear and .6 front drop. 335i rwd is closer to my H&R sports drop. Hope it works out well for you. 🤛
@@visiongarage277 Thanks. I'll find out lol

I got the same sit up but the rid feels ruff.
Yes, I agree, it is very rough indeed. After a couple months of jarring and dodging every questionable road surface, I took them off and sold them. I am now on the Eibach Pro Kit. It is just a .6 rear / .8 front drop and feels close to stock, while eliminating some wheel gap. The difference in ride comfort is night and day. Love the Eibach kit. Check out my latest video and my Instagram to see how the Eibachs sit... 👍🏽
I feel you placed the bump stop upside down but not really sure though
Hey man. Thanks for the comment... made me double-check the video. I actually went back and looked again to verify they are correct. I would not want to mislead anyone at all. To verify, look at 14:23. The rear bump stop has a built-in sleeve and you can see the wider part of the bump stop at the top. No other way to install. This provides a tight fit into the strut mount (keeps the sleeve from popping up and down) and protects the polished arm of the cylinder. Same for the front, wider part of the bump stop is upward. I’ve since taken these springs and bump stops off. Now on Eibach Pro Kit springs, OEM bump stops, and brand new Sachs shock absorbers. Much more comfy. 👍🏽 Should have made a video about the install.. 🎥
Thanks for verifying it. I was more confused about 8:19, for the front as the flat part was at the bottom. I'm about to install mine soon. Glad to hear they are much better with upgraded shocks and all those. Thanks for making this video also.
what size are your wheel and tires. looking to get same fitment
deel eem Hey man, I have all my modifications in my descriptions with links. The offset is not too aggressive but perfectly flush. I also used 5mm spacers on the front to match the fender fitment of the rear. Tire sizes linked as well.
Hows your experience been so far? Any rubbing
No rubbing when I had them, but the H&Rs were just too bouncy and firm for my tastes. Crashing over every bump to the point where you cringe coming up to questionable road surfaces. Even my 4 and 5 yr old sons commented on the rough ride. 😄 So I sold them and got the Eibach Pro kit. The Eibachs are only a .8 drop in the front and .6 in the rear, so it is not too aggressive a drop at all. Low enough to eliminate some wheel gap while maintaining comfort, avoiding front lip scrapes, and navigating the inclement weather we have here in Colorado. 👍🏽 But a lot of people run the H&Rs and love them, they are just not for me.
You forgot to do the 'after' measurements to show exactly how much lower the car dropped...
Yeah, I got rid of them after a few months anyway. They rode too rough and bouncy for my tastes. Now on Eibach Pro kit and a lot happier with those. I just replaced a dead computer and hope to get some content up very soon.👍🏽
That is way too much work for me. It looks clean though
