I encourage everyone to spend Christmas in Poland. Especially in Zakopane. Amazing atmosphere, a christmas trees and decorations everywhere, friendly people, unique food, horse riding, skiing - this is how Christmas should looks like.
First personal computer "K-202" was invented by Jacek Karpiński in 1970 and it was much faster than IBM PC that was built 10 years later. Inventor didn't get the patent law because russians said that "if it was possible to make it then americans would do it years ago" :)
Iqnacy Łukasiewicz. Look him up. He created the petrol industry, invented the rafinery process and was the one that discovered oil for science. Hell, the first petroleum rafinery was build in poland. It was used to power kerosene lamps - he invented them too.
Poland was the "high society" of Europe preceding the mid-1800's. The learned people and the inventors were everywhere. It is amazing that a century of closeting by communism is enough to wipe out the memory of these advances and facts. Even the author of this video is unaware of basics like the dirt that Germany threw upon humanity wasn't done in their own "back yard", but across the proverbial "tracks" (similar to Russia's failed nuclear power plant Chernobyl being in Ukraine, not Russia). No, the depth of history is maimed by the ignorance of the greatness that once was enveloped by Poland. Art, Technology, and human advancement flourished at the hands of the Polish, yet nobody remembers. Quick fact: the first physical structures built in the USA, during the time of the discovery of the "New World", where build by Polish carpenters. It was the Polish, maritime carpenters on the ship of William Bradford (Mayflower) who built the first "buildings" on the North American continent.
Torilla Tavataan Danzig is the German name of the city that we Poles have been calling Gdańsk since the time it was founded. It is an interesting fact that the city's coat of arms has a crown of Polish kings placed above two crosses.
" "Poles" chronicles the saying that this name comes from "Polo Arctico" or "Children of the North". ;-D The Persians call us "Lahs" and our country "Lehestan". The Turks call us Lehs and our country "Lehistan" We as the founders of our state consider the "mythical" Lech King. And our nation has a few thousand years ;-D I know it's funny ;-D ;-D. But archaeological finds such as "Carpathian Troy" or the oldest image of a circle in the world on the "Waza z Bronocic" (Vase from Bronocice) and genetics "haplogroup R1a1" make it no longer funny ;-D ;-D
Leszek Prondzinski The "Lechistan" is an old turkish name for Poland from hungarian "Lengyelország" which is from tribe of "Lędzianie". "Carpathian Troy" was not Polish city. What chronicles? R1A1 is not something special. You can find it all around Europe and Asia.
bobocpe 1st constitution in Europe was of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, not Poland ;) that is what is written in textbooks and on the internet, so, maybe it's time to think of history not chauvinistically
The Fathers of "Consitution of May 3" were Polish. The Constitution DID NOT regulate the Commonwealth. This happened in October the 20th. It's called "The Engagement of Nations"... Some historians even belive, this document brought to an end the real union between the parties and created one... Respublica Polonia (the Republic of Poland).
Luna Isabel I am Polish and your words made me sad because as a proud Pole i am also proud of the commonwealth and i do not minimalize Lithuanian part. it was a great deal we - Polish and Lithuanian people fucked up. Problem is you guys still hate us, showing us to gtfo. And as i said its sad because i love you guys and you hate me for something i cant change. :(
sWeedShop agreed, didn't know Lithuanians think like that in this way. I was always proud of the commonwealth and also recited Litwo ojczyzno moja. I guess our paths did indeed split, much further than I thought.
You was missed Warner brothers. They are from Poland, Krasnosielc (im living 2 km away from this town). They emigrate to USA and they set up a film studio called Warner Bros. and now this is one of the biggest film studio in the world.
It was very refreshing to hear those facts about Poland from outside man. I love to being Polish, I love that my little son can raise in country like this. Polish people are very critical to each other but only inside the country, if there's any danger we can work together. Poland is always torn between east and west Europe, we are the poorest of the West and the richest of the East :) Nice thing is that in early middle ages and so Poland (with Lithuania) was the biggest and the greatest kingdom of the all Europe! Thank you for your video and I hope to know more from you about other countries :)
My grandfather and grandfathers food yum great memories when I was a child proud to be of polish heritage and proud of my grandparents for surviving such strong beautiful people. My grandfather from Warsaw and grandmother from Krakow
Did you know that the father of petrochemical industry was Polish? Ignacy Łukasiewicz started oil excavation on industrial scale and created refinery in Bóbrka. The first one in the whole world as far as I know. He also created oil lamp (1853!) . This lamp was first used during night surgery in hospital in Lwów (back then it was Polish city under rule of Moscow).
Learning more about it's industrial complex helped me to appreciate even more Poland standing up to the Tyrant EU and picking sanctions over forced take over. I'm with you poland!
Thank you so much for those two beautiful videos on Poland. I really enjoyed watching them. It's good to be reminded why Polish people should feel proud of their country.
If you are talking about Poland and Polish history you SHOULD NOT forget about the greatest army in the world, they did not lose any battle for 125 years. The most beautiful and the most powerful cavalry on the world - WINGED HUSSARS! ua-cam.com/video/-8WH5bmXlYU/v-deo.html

Pierogi can be made with many different fillings. Cheese and potato are the most common, but there can be sauerkraut, meat, mushrooms, various veg, even buckwheat (these are one of my favourites, but are quite rare, popular mostly among people from eastern borders who were forced to move west after the war). Also, there are fruit-filled pierogi, with plums, apples, all kinds of berries - they can be sered with butter or sour cream, sprinkled with sugar. Different pierogi are popular in different regions and are easy to modify with a bit of creativity.
Willabe Political correctness is shite like they go about everyone has their opinion and free speech but as soon as someone's opinion isn't nice you're racsist
You forgot to mention that Poland was the only Country that kicks the Russian in 1920 and also saves Western Europe at the same time. The Russian Car ( king) went down on his knees in the front of the Polish King.

it's great that not only you make an effort to create another video but also correct some of information even that you didn't have to do that. thank you :)
Thank you. You should definitely visit Poland. Also dont forget in Poland you have mountains, sea, forests and beautiful lakes so you can find everything you like in one place :) 💜

Great content! Keep it up and please do more facts about Poland. You could look into the cinema (Wajda, Polański, Holland), history (No. 303 "Kosciuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron), science (Copernicus) or architecture (the city of Zamosc - Padova of the north, Warsaw Old Town - near-total reconstruction, Wieliczka Sat Mine) or anture (Bialowieza Forest). Btw. UNESCO session is actually taking place in Poland right now. :)
Great video about my beautiful country! Thank you! :) Btw. Those are uszka=ears that we eat for Christmas Eve. They are smaller that pierogi and have a little bit different shape.
Poland has Muslims called Tatars. They were given land in Eastern Poland from Polish king many years ago for protecting the country against Ottoman and Russian invasions.
did you just called the great duchy of Lithuania a province of Poland, are you serious? this is so rude for a lithuanian, you have no idea how much that was a union not an occupation, which is like obvious by looking into a map because Lithuania was way bigger at that time, also, Livonia, wasn't a province either because technically it belonged to Lithiania
Yeah, but Poland had bigger balls and stronger army so we owned you and made your country a part of Poland with your approval cause you loved us. As far as I remember from history first it was Polish-Lithuania but after some time it was only Poland till the partition of Poland by 3 bastard countries.
And it means you liked to be a part of Poland then cause we were a mighty country back then when we were united. Now Poland is weak and Lithuania is even weaker so Idk why you're such butthurt about that great time in our history.
Polack in Polish is just Polish for Polish, it's different when said by others. It goes back to immigration to the US and discrimination. still some inaccuracies but appreciate the recognition. Thank you for these videos!!! :)
Dave Walpole since your on europe can you guys make a video about France? p.s I love you guys and I've been watching and learning since some of your very first videos.

Wieliczka is must see object.

Kanapka prawdopodobnie
🤔 🤔 faktycznie
No idea
Two films (thanks - great job), one brief blink of Wieliczka Salt Mine, yet not a word about it.
All the comment section will be filled with praises to Poland for resisting Islam lol
It is not exactly resisting when even refugees don't want to go there xp
Poland has Muslims called Tatars. They were given land in Eastern Poland from Polish king many years ago for protecting the country against Ottoman and Russian invasions.
Slashplite We know today there are very small percentage of Muslims In Poland anyway like 2.1%? There's a beautiful mosque in Warsaw I believe
as for statistics in 2011, the number of Muslims in Poland is around 20'000, make less than 0.01% of Poland
Aizen bradley how
Maybe you should talk about famous polish people that are living now in the next part? :3
did you just called the great duchy of Lithuania a province of Poland, are you serious? this is so rude for a lithuanian, you have no idea how much
that was a union not an occupation, which is like obvious by looking into a map because Lithuania was way bigger at that time, also, Livonia, wasn't a province either because technically it belonged to Lithiania
Luna Isabel triggered lithuanian xD go sleep
Yeah, but Poland had bigger balls and stronger army so we owned you and made your country a part of Poland with your approval cause you loved us. As far as I remember from history first it was Polish-Lithuania but after some time it was only Poland till the partition of Poland by 3 bastard countries.
And it means you liked to be a part of Poland then cause we were a mighty country back then when we were united. Now Poland is weak and Lithuania is even weaker so Idk why you're such butthurt about that great time in our history.
It might as well be. It was like UK where attention was shifted towards Poland and Warsaw, away from Vilnus.
Wow guys, really nice way to show our polish hospitality, am i rite?
Polack in Polish is just Polish for Polish, it's different when said by others. It goes back to immigration to the US and discrimination. still some inaccuracies but appreciate the recognition. Thank you for these videos!!! :)
