- A simplified walkthrough of building a DIY, easy slat wall above our master bathroom tub. I used ½” plywood for the backer panel and cedar, finished with water-based poly for the vertical slats. Although this project was pretty straight forward, there was a lot of repetition and boredom in dealing with so many pieces. In the end, it gives our bathroom a bit for feng shui and is overall a nicer place to be, and maybe raises property value a bit. Enjoy the video and give this one a go for yourself as it was pretty cheap and simple to construct and install.

This is where sketchup/F360 comes in handy. Allows you to play with the slat thickness to even it out on the computer. But that middle thin piece makes it intentional. Looks nice (oh, and maybe turn down the background music a tad more)
