Intro is on point!!! Keep it forever! Got the plans for the Hose Holder on that planer. And who wouldn't make a paper towel holder like that for the shop?! But I was a bit disappointed in that you didn't use gold plated hardware... not sure I would be OK with cheaping out like that 😆
Introspective. I will still defend pine for fine furniture. Even though I use cherry for everything. Leaning towards more maple too but that is a slow change.
My favorite thing I've built was a coffee table from the cover of an issue of Fine Woodworking. I went with cherry for it, but the original was iirc a figured maple with a cherry-ish clear stain and it was very beautiful. I think I had picked up a bit of common orthodoxy against using any kind of stain on hardwood, but at the end of the day, if it protects your piece and makes the grain sing, then you're doing the right thing. (I will still argue strongly against painting over nice hardwood in most cases, but even then I've seen cool things done using paint to accent a piece!)
@@dr_regularlove I will just note that stain does nothing to add protection to your work. It only changes color, not add any sort of hardness or protection.
So the real question is---is that lower toilet paper holder for shop emergency situations!--it appears to be on your shop wall? and could you add a gold leafed slot for air freshener.
Haha, I’ve found that I like having both so I’m not wasting a whole PT for a tiny wipe up. Also in the cold shop in the winter, it’s just better for keeping your nose clean than PTs, haha
That intro tho...
Sometimes you go tot stretch your silly bone

Great job weaving a story in without making it sound like a lecture! 👍 You’re getting pretty good at the UA-cams my friend.
I learn from watching the best…
Love the commentary. Love the paper towel holder, maybe more. Still deciding…
Hahaha, you don’t have to say it… just feel it in your heart

I like the philosophy, but I will say that some jigs, sleds, and tool racks need to be in the upper right quadrant.
The last 8 seconds was awesome!
Thanks dude, some are pretty, that’s for sure

@@Stillworks Oh yeah for sure you would put another coat over it, I just meant it made the figured maple look great
