Great video. Love the walk through on the phone, it's a nice touch.
Glad you liked it!
Easy and simple set up guide. Well done Darron.
++++++
Thanks 👍
Great step by step instructions; I was having trouble figuring out to record longer than the allotted 7 seconds and Mark helped guide me through the super easy process. Insert the SD card (which I had) and then simply activate it in the settings (which I had not 🤦🏻♀️ Lol). Now that Mark taught me how to use it, ill be buying two more! Thanks again Mark :)
The names Darron, but I get ya lol. Glad I could help!
@@DMfotoNI hahahaha this whole time on Instagram I was calling you Mark like a moron and you were too much of a gentleman to correct me. HOW AMAZING IS THIS GUY????
(ps, how do know I wasn’t just being super familiar with you and just calling you by your last name like we were old high school buddies? Lol 🙈)
Excellent explained video in simple terms. Having purchased one of these cameras if anyone is non technical worrying they cannot set one up. You can do so in minutes. Excellent product and good investment for peace of mind when away from home.
Does it charge up to use wireless
How do you add another phone to share on the app
Great video and perfect instructional set up Darron so thanks for that.
I have just bought this camera which is my second wansview camera which i love.
I noticed that you had at least five camera's, i thought that you could only connect four so that is interesting.
Did you have any instalation problem's with your outdoor camera with thing's like protecting it from the rain ect and also did you have any issue's connecting the camera to your electricity supply like the cable not being long enough?
Thanks in advance & all the best.
You can't have the Q5 outdoors as it's an indoor camera, the other range is all watertight (I've an external garden socket) and the only issues I've experienced with them is the WiFi range.
You can have as many cameras you want, you just scroll down, or you can use the grid view (plus you can add multiple grids to the grid section too) to see four at a time.
As for cable reach, well, that's a socket issue you'd need to resolve, the cables are fairly long, but it's only relative to the reach of the power supply itself.
Can more than one person be on the account or do you need separate accounts
setting it up was easy I am having trouble with finding and saving videos and how to take a screen shot
Bottom Right on the iPhone App, under the section ‘Me’
What app did you download to use this cam?
hey Darron! is it possible to extend the motion alerts to longer videos? how long will it record for? and any idea how much the cloud subscription costs?
It’s $6.99 for 3 cameras and $9.99 for I think 7. You can’t extend the record time, however, if there continues to be movement it will continue to record.
Hey loved your video I have recently purchase the same camera in white and have connected it using WiFi. Now my question is if I am not at home and if I’m at work or else where around UK can I still view what is happening through the camera or would I have to connect it to the internet? If you know what I mean
If you've connected it to the WiFi, isnt that connecting to the internet?
Hey thks for ur quick reply on previous questions..just got camera how can I get it just record none stop. I have the cloud. But I just want to record with out interruption
You could set up a moving object off to the side, and have that as the target motion area on the trigger.
How do I set the camera up to record upon movement and would it possible to watch on my phone ?
You need to go into the settings of your camera on the phone's app. I don't know what type of phone you have, and honestly, I'm not really tech support on this, but you use the motion alert settings on your app to set that up.
Email addresses for support are:
US: service@wansview.com
UK: service3@wansview.com
How do you put up the camera on the wall? I am having troubles with mounting.
What’s the trouble you’re having?
Hi thanks for the good video, do you know what format the video file is saved as and how many frames per second the footage is please ? Ta
I've just downloaded a file to my phone, then airdropped it to my Mac and it's telling me it's an MP4, AAC H.264 1920x1080 - Hope this helps. The quality certainly doesn't appear pin sharp, so I'd probably hazard it's upsclaed to 1080p.
@@DMfotoNI thanks mate , how about FPS ?
Hi and great info. Will this work with my P.C ( win10 ) and my home wifi? Thanks...
I’ve only ever used it on my Mac and iPhone. I don’t see it being a problem though, it’s also compatible with Amazon & Google.
Very good presentation. I just bought the camera, but I'm worried: I need to place it where I haven't Internet, so I Thought to put near an old smartphone and use it, by hot spot on, to connect the camera. I don't know how to do it . Could you help me. Thanks
Have you considered getting a range extender to your WiFi? This would be a low cost solution and not require a 4G data connection, alternatively, you might want to buy a Mi-Fi SIM Specific hotspot, I know here in the UK the 3 Network sold them? You’d be able to find that connection easily through the camera interface.
@@DMfotoNI Thank You for the quick answer. No I didn't consider an wi fi extender 'cause is not possible: I'll put the camera in a place where there isn't a ADSL and is too much expansive to put it...I thought to a "Mi-Fi SIM Specific hotspot" but I first want to try with a smartphone because would be cheaper. I need to know how to set the camera for this purpose...
How do you eject the SD card? I can't find any online reference on how to remove the SD card. I thought it might be spring loaded but that doesn't seem to work on my Q5.
Push on it
Does anyone know how to invite family and friends and work through the whole set up process with these cameras? I'd like 2 phones to be able to view the cameras. One is already set up and the other has the app set up but the device needs to be paired to the 2nd phone. Once the camera is restarted or reset flicking Blue/red light will this kick the first phone out? Please help !! Thank you !
The reset button will kill all connections and need to repaired to the mobile device. But you can log in to it and share that out again to the second mobile device.
That was such a helpful and easy to understand guide, thank you. I've set my Q5 up but what I want it to do is send a motion alert (and record a clip) to my iphone just during a few hours every night. Does it have a way of doing that? Then I can check each morning what my dog has been doing the previous night. Also, for subscribing to the Cloud option, I can't figure out how to pay. It asks for US state, US phone number and won't accept my UK address and phone number.
I don’t think it has the ability to do that, it’s a security camera, not a recording/monitoring device that is motion activated or has a live stream element. As for the subscription section, not sure why you’re having a problem on that front, however in the video description there’s a UK email address you can reach out to for support. Hope you get it sorted.
@@DMfotoNI thanks for your quick response
Hey there, also... You can set up a notification alert to the phone app, that will alert you to any movement and take you directly to that video clip of the movement. I'm only using the iPhone version of the app, and all alerts are at the bottom of the screen (if you've set them as active) menu, under 'Alerts', if you have a new one, there will be a little red dot. You can also go into the camera's settings:
• Scroll down to Motion detection
• Selection Detection area
• There you'll see the option to create a motion hotspot that will mean that anything outside of that area will be disregarded.
Hopefully this helps?
Oh, I've been reliable informed that new 24/7 streaming recording service is to be announced very soon!
Can you have multiple user set up on the Wansview app and to the cameras?
You can share individual cameras through the settings of the camera.
If I'm at work which is a mile away would I be able to see everything on my phone if the camera was set up at my house
Yes, so long as it’s connected to your home WiFi.
Been scanning all videos on this camera as trying to install micro SD card I bought. Found the slot but just doesn't seem to want to insert properly.. no info in packaging leaflet so advice from anywhere would be great.
If memory serves me right, it slots in under the lens. You need to move it up to reveal the slot. Also, it only fits in one way.
I can’t figure out how to hear what’s going on in the room. Can you guide me?
This would depend on the camera, if it's a Q5, it's on the live view, you might need to unmute your device or turn up the volume. Some of the Wansview range don't actually have mics.
Okay, I've had a chance to take another look. If you go into the settings of your camera, then select 'Advanced settings' you'll see the option to activate the 'Camera microphone'. It might not have been active as a default. Hope this helps?
It says it’s a wireless camera. But it came with a cord. How do I use the wireless function?
It needs power, just like your wireless router? That's what the cord is for.
I just got this camera myself, and it didnt move around like that after I plugged it in. And I can't figure out how to use the lower wifi that isnt 5G.
You will need to have a dual band wireless hub, as these only work on 2.4ghz.
@@DMfotoNI Believe it or not, but I left it plugged in over night and figured I'd work on it the next day and it worked itself out lol
This usually occurs if you have a smart hub, it will work out the best way to connect to a particular device. I've actually just switched off the dual split on my own WiFi, and the cameras are connecting fine (in fact, I'd say in a more reliable fashion).
hi, please , is possible to use this camera with zoom o any videocall?
Yeah, that would be a no.
So when I removed the cord it stopped recording and said connecting 🤔 not sure if this has to be connected at all times?
So I have the Q6 and it needs to be connected at all times . (So is someone disconnect from the socket it stops recording ) ugh.
These cameras aren’t battery powered, if you disconnect it from the outlet, then yeah, it’s gonna stop working lol.
Could I log into my Wansview account on 2 separate phones at the same time if subscribe to cloud?
Good question, I honestly don’t know
I bought It but i couldn't installed it because its said my Wifi is 5G so i don't know what to do
You’re gonna have to login to your 2.4ghz network first, before pairing. You will need the ability see both versions of your Wi-fi channels, I would configure that first if you can’t..?
Hi mate mine dosnt connect to wifi do you know a fix thanks
Without knowing your set up, I wouldn't be in a position to help, sorry. You do however, need to connect it to a 2.4Ghz network, not the 5Ghz version of your wifi. Try installing it closer to the hub first and following on the App instructions. You also have the option of connecting directly to the camera first, then scanning for your own wifi.
Been using this camera for 3 years now, everything was great. But suddenly it lost connection with server and the light still remains red, even when I’m trying to reset it, there is no more red/blue light(
Maybe someone can help me out with that?
Did you reach out to the product support for your region? Detail of those contacts are on my comments section for this video.
Once the camera identifies motion, how long does it record?
It should record for 30 seconds, but it will continue to record so long as there is continuous motion.
hello, i inserted the sd card in and doesnt wanna work, can you help me ?
Did you format it through the camera's setting section? Have you got the right speed of SD card? Something along the lines of Class10 and above.
Is there a reason my Wifi connection keeps failing on the camera. Wifi works on everything else
Unfortunately, I don't work for Wansview, I merely gave a review of my experience. Have you tried contacting them directly?
@@DMfotoNI I got it. I had to reboot my wifi connection and have the camera next to it also. Thank you!!
Just trying to connect it to my phone.it giving me a hard time
Have you connected it to 2.4Ghz Wi-fi network?
Does it have to plugged in? If not how long does the battery last??
It has to be plugged in, there is no battery option.
@@DMfotoNI thks for the quick reply
I have a stong wifi connection, but connection failed 😔
Keep trying or return the product as faulty.
my camera went offline while i am out of town. How do I fix that ?
Unless you have access to your home wifi remotely (so that you can reset it), you're unlikely to be able to do anything about it till you get home where you can turn the camera off and on again. But that's the same with most devices, say your wifi printer stopped responding, you'd have to do the same work around when you got home.
@@DMfotoNI so thru my cable companies website I can access my router & reset it. Do you think that will fix the problem ?
Hi, is this camera compatible with ewelink? Thanks.
I don’t even know what that is, I’m sorry.
@@DMfotoNI Ewelink is an android app so you can switch on/off wifi sonoff devices or watch video from wifi cameras.
Does it need a sd card
It does, it even says so on the Amazon listing. But you can subscribe monthly for cloud storage, which then means you then don't need an SD card.
can you connect this to a pc?
Yes, well, through a website, but yes.
@@DMfotoNI Thanks for that but i don't think I can use this cam for what i need. trying to capture Mixed reality in VR with a green screen. thing is the green screen is in a different room to my pc. solution get a wireless camera. but i don't think the technology is quite there yet. the latency is way to high to be usable for live gaming and the software doesn't intergrade with the system well. in the end i just bought a very long usb 3.0 extension cable. that costs just as much as the camera. but hopefully will get me the results i need.
Mine keeps saying unable to connect to the WiFi
You have to be in the range of a 2.4GHz network, not the 5GHz version of your Wi-Fi. If your wireless hub only offers 5GHz, then you'll need to look at the settings or to duel it out.
@@DMfotoNI so if I have 5g I have to go to settings and switch it. I know dumd question but don't know what I'm doing
Good, but the video is too long!
Fast forward it then.
