Its been a super busy week, Currently working on a load of Bead Projects, There are tons more of Bead tutorials coming your way soon! Continue Creating and Stay Crafty! Be sure to check out the previous video if you haven't seen it already: ua-cam.com/video/nupP17zFgIg/v-deo.html
I understand the availability and cost effectiveness of using plastic string, but what do you think of using softer cloth or other cloth-like strings for projects like this or other bead animals? They give the finished product a lot more malleability, especially if you like moving it around in your hand.
This is true, In all honesty, using what works best for you is the perfect thing to do, ive used different strings as well but haven't found a soft string that will hold up as well as the plastic lace. I am open to trying out more types of string, if you have a recommendation maybe i could give it a try.
@@TurboBeads I picked up some thin paracord from Hobby Lobby to try it out, and it's been working just fine for me. A couple iffy things about it (besides the price). The fraying of the ends after you cut it, but a lighter to melt it takes care of that rather well. Also the fact that I need to use something to help poke the end through the beads most of the time, which makes attempting some things a little tougher than it needs to be. It's a small price to pay for the maneuverability the finished product gets, I feel. I made a Pokemon design for my friend and the legs, wings, and horns all move pretty well without having to deal with the tension and squeezing and overall stiffness that I know comes from the plastic string.
@@Sociopath713 thank you for the tip, i love how you break it down as well making it easy to understand, very descriptive. How well do the creations with this string survive over time, with regular usage? Sounds worth it. Would this be something worth mentioning to everyone looking for a variety of string? Possibly yes, i will definitely look into it!
@@TurboBeads This is something that I only picked up recently, so I sadly can't say from experience how well it will stand up to general wear and tear of handling. It is only my guess that it will to some degree, due to it being related to parachute cord, which is generally meant to be durable. But, that is of course only a guess. Thank you for your time!
Ok, my first attempt. I am old school, so a PDF or a clearer pic with full view would have helped. So rewind and re beaded, this is my end result. While I added two I. The wings because I couldn’t make it flat. Not sure where the fishing line comes in. And can see how toothpicks can be helpful. I decided to make beak , eye and feet a different colour :-) Thank you. My friends favorite colours are magenta and turquoise, so a parrot was easier than peacock, while yours was the most helpful 😊🙏💗💜🥰🥰
That's so cute. I don't think I've seen you make one on a key chain for a while. I enjoyed this one a lot. I wonder how many kinds of birds you could make? 🙂
Yeah its been awhile, these are fun to create, i need to make more bead keychain tutorials again, How many different birds can be made with beads? Great question. Time to make more birds as well!
Just a warning before anyone starts! Don’t use elastic string! I used it and it came out full of gaps and if you tie it too tight it bunches together. No hate on this video, I’m using my first experience as a learning one!
Justin, Love all your stuff but once again your string length is off. The written instructions calls for 8 feet but then once you get started you speak the correct length of 5 feet. Have wasted so much material lately.........

Fun fact : I had a blue parakeet when I was a kid.
Great tutorial, Justin! 😀
What was the Name of your Parakeet? Birds are great pets! When I was younger I had several Cockatiels as pets! Gotta love Birds!
Ally. (Formerly Allison because we thought he was a female. haha) He was very nice & funny. Very cool you had birds too!
@@SoCraftastic indeed! Thanks for sharing the fun fact! Its definitely hard to tell a bird's gender until they start laying eggs. 🤔🐦🐣💡
I have a red factor Conure, I just switched the colors matching it to my bird and made it, came out looking just like him! Great video!

The wings take up 1 foot 6in each adding up to 3 more feet, thats a total of 8ft. Sorry i didn't explain that in the tutorial....
