When I was 13 this song told my story as far as kids that age and what they go through. I didn't have Mtv so imagine my surprise when I went to my uncles house and saw this video for the 1st time!!! It stayed with me even more. This will always be my favorite song of all time. I even have it tattooed on my arm. I'm now 4️⃣8️⃣ 🎸❤️
Ahh when NYC was gritty, mysterious, and had a pulse in a way that it doesn't today. She says, at the end, she hates to stand still, that you have to keep moving and growing and yet the last new album they put out was in 2003. Is that growing, stretching, and moving? And, she's gettin' up there (aren't we all) and so the sun may be setting on their ability to put together new music that has the power and electricity of years gone by. And maybe that's why they don't bother and instead just play the same ol' same ol'. That has to be sad for fans that they can't focus long enough on creating something new. Weird for folks who supposedly are 'artists/musicians'.
