First, let me just say; PROUD To Be a Mormon, Even More PROUD to be a CHILD OF GOD. Very Inspirational VID -Will NEVER be ashamed to acknowledge and serve GOD in my life. May I just humbly share; that Whatever our religious preferences or differences, in faith, may we All come to know that in GOD's KINGDOM there is room enough for ALL OF US, for even Christ let us know that "WHOSOEVER Will, May Come." I testify that come what may, your decision to serve Christ, and let God be first in your life, is one you will Never Regret. Other things maybe, but never that....
Is it true that Mormons believe you can not reach the celestial kingdom without being baptized, receiving the gift, getting endowments, and getting married? If so, how could a person of a different religious preference still be allowed in? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Just want to know if my understanding is correct. Also, if you have free agency, how do you opt out of the afterlife altogether? Is it freedom if you only have two choices? Is it freedom if we never had the choice to be created? If we have free agency, then why don't we have the choice to stop our own existence? These are things I don't understand about Mormonism. I'm proud to have been raised Mormon, given the fantastic family values, ethics, and emphasis on reading. However, never fully agreed with the beliefs of the after life. Thanks.
Hi Mark, your questions are great ones and should and ought to be answered. First of all above all, let me say I believe in a merciful loving God, who is gathering His children unto Himself and has sent out Christ and all who will help Him to gather His children unto Him. In the scriptures it says that God's Greatest quality is love. For He God, so loved the world that he sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him would not perish but have everlasting life. I don't know if it's the same everywhere, I would hope that the message is consistent across the board. But based on my experience being an LDS member we're taught that the plan of salvation revolves around, Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving of the gift of the Holy Ghost/ Holy Spirit ('baptism by fire') by the laying on of Hands, and Enduring to the end. To the LDS member enduring to end means / represents being obedient to the teachings of Christ, keeping of the commandments, partaking in the sacrament (on the principle where Christ said as often as you this you remember me) choosing daily to live the life that is Christ-like, or would represent Him. Doing the things that God and Christ has asked of you. These things represent the door and path to making it into the kingdom. I'm not going to pretend that there aren't times when I too have questions. But I trust in Christ as my compass and believe that God will direct me through His Holy Spirit when I put Him first and seek Him out. I also understand that the church does believe that one of the prerequisites to attain celestial Kingdom glory (or to get to that kingdom,) it requires the making and keeping of sacred covenants with God (sealings and endowments), and being married in the temple also, however based on previous responses to my questions, you can make it to the celestial kingdom without having been married based on having been married based on how one lived their life like Hyrum or Alvin (one of the brothers of Joseph Smith.) But God is the ultimate judge on that one. According to what the church teaches, even if you do not get a chance to marry in this life, you may get the opportunity to do so in eternity where you have that option. I am not currently married. LDS believes that everyone who did not get a chance to follow God correctly but had the desire will get eventually get to at some point. Eternity is a pretty long time. All Men/male and female, on earth will get an opportunity to inherit a kingdom glory based on how well they followed after Christ in this life. -Those who were valiant in faith towards God and Christ (inherit the celestial kingdom), those who were not so valiant but otherwise good beings (inherit the telestial), and those who didn't try as much inherit terrestrial. Those who utterly reject God and Christ after all the work is done or all opportunity is exhausted would be sent out in outer darkness. It's almost like imagining a person going to university on a spiritual level and graduating, with the difference between a Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree almost, or flunking out (-kind of). But how well we do depends on how well we were personally willing to do knowing what the criteria was. We all get saved through Christ because that is the free gift from God, but what we enjoy at the end of it is up to how much of it we desired and worked toward it (as much or as little). They will each be great places to be but each one greater than the other. Someone of a different faith but who eventually trusts in Christ at one point or the other in this life or the afterlife will be allowed in one of these 'worlds' or 'glories' in the kingdom. Just like we are taught and see that there are different stages of growth for the human being in their lifecycle; first you are a fertilized egg and embryo and develop from baby to boy to man/ adult, there is a spiritual growth process where we grow into a state of perfection and eventually inherit the kingdom where God is when we fully achieve being Christ-like. But it is a process that encompasses our entire existence not simply in terms of earthly time but time in the sense of eternity. According to LDS teachings; we did exercise our free agency in the pre-mortal existence and chose to come to earth to have human body and endure the tests that we do /have in this life we just don't remember it, but will when Christ returns and reveals all things to us. We all accepted to be here in the beginning, we just have to endure to the end in this life; we'll be smiling in the end....
Becca G. I am not Momon, but i did grow up in a Christian home. I believe we all need to look at where our beliefs are the same, then learn and grow from each other where we differ from. all the mainstream denominations belief and teach the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Plus Repentance, Baptism of water and of the Holy Spirit. We all also teach the importance of living a Holy life that is pleasing to God, But those who reject Christ will not enter into Heaven.
Becca G. Thank you for your reply to Mark's questions. However, the process for salvation you laid out, "Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving of the gift of the Holy Ghost/ Holy Spirit ('baptism by fire') by the laying on of Hands, and Enduring to the end," seems more focused on what YOU did, which in the theological circles I'm in (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod), is often referred to as "works-righteousness." May I remind you that: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast."-Ephesians 2:8-9. We do not to anything to achieve salvation; rather, it is what Christ has done, for us, on Calvary's cross, "For God so loved the whole world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16.
The same verses you mention state that "faith without works is dead..."and it goes on to expound. As a Christian/ child of God, I do not argue over the parts that are written. Rather I look at it as a whole and I know that in the big picture of things (whether you only wish to look at just the biblical scriptures or not,) you need both to stand on solid ground. But Christ did not direct none of these things that are all of God to be a burden or yoke around our necks as some portray I, but rather; according to his own words or that of his servants they are all for the perfecting of the saints unto that great and perfect work. That His Father commissioned Him to do, to shape us unto His Image. In the Image of God the Father Himself. So when you see us, you won't simply see just us but the image of God the Father himself, and so that we may be able to dwell in His presence -Holy and acceptable before the Lord (Romans 12:1 "-we ought to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable before the Lord." -Living the life unto which we are called. In order to live that life we have to take certain steps /action. Walk towards Him as countless scriptures admonish and as we walk He draws us unto Himself. Now whether you disagree or not, it is undeniable that that walking requires from us some action on our part. God will not force us to do anything that we do not desire. We must choose Him and "follow" Him. Whether we debate over it or not. Those first couple of steps require some 'effort' from our part and as such does in fact constitute part of the 'work' that 'we' must first fulfill. When we take action from our part, He takes over and puts everything that is supposed to, in order.) We debate over what it is, what it means, etc. But we simply must just do it; read, understand and act. Christ himself said that it is not just he who hears the word that will be saved; but He that DOES it. But in order to do it you must first HEAR it. So yes you are right and yet you are in part, wrong. And perhaps depending on how you want to look at it you could tell me the same. But either way, the truth is, we need both. Both sides are correct, but not in and of themselves. The two are equally important and necessary. Praise God, Serve God and as the Word says simply strive towards the mark; not as though we have already won it, but as though we strive unto it (-knowing though that we are already his.) Faith by itself on its own is only half of it. Acting on our faith in Christ moves the mountains -and demonstrates 'work' on our part. Not because of our own merit but because we love him we follow him and do what he asks of us. Live free and be free in Christ. He is more than that (the sum of our arguments,) and he understands and knows the length and breadth of all of us. Anything He brings you to, he is able strengthen you from on high, and to see you through.
Flat out amazing. These voices are literally perfect. I feel the Spirit so strong while they are singing. Thank Heavenly Father that He gave us the most precious gift of singing and music to express our gratitude and to pray to Him. I don't know if you actually read all of these Alex Boye. But if you do keep doing what you're doing, God gave you the talents and the means for a reason. I don't know if the choir members check this one. I hope they keep singing for the rest of their lives. Absolutely Beautiful voices!
He has overcome the grave. He saved us from death and condemnation; from sorrow and remorse He's strengthened our branches and made us new roots in His Great Vine and brushed each and every tear with His fingers.
The power of this message! The tears fall every time and I'm inspired. Wow! Alex you are a light in this dark world for him! And to all the talent that created this piece-Thank you. Keep sharing! Absolutely beautiful!!!!! WE WILL RISE!
And rise, I will rise There's a day that's drawing near When this darkness breaks to light And the shadows disappear And my faith shall be my eyes Jesus has overcome And the grave is overwhelmed The victory is won He is risen from the dead And I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagle's wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise, I will rise And I hear the voice of many angels sing Worthy is the Lamb And I hear the cry of every longing heart Worthy is the Lamb And I hear the voice of many angels sing Worthy is the Lamb And I hear the cry of every longing heart Worthy is the Lamb (You are worthy, You are worthy) Worthy is the Lamb I will rise when He calls my name No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagle's wings Before my God fall on my knees And rise, I will rise, I will rise
I am a evangelical christian and I want to thank you for this song this song gives me feel closer to God. Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. Thank you wgrroseberry for the comment you are so right. Jesus is the only Way. thanks for the song again
A mi también me encanta escuchar esta canción y lo que sé de Alex Boye es que es un hombre de gran fe, creyente de Cristo, muy humilde y de gran corazón.
Monkey (not gonna try to pronounce the rest) - It's not your religious beliefs that defines you as a person, it is who you are as a human being that defines who you truly are.. (I think I hurt my tounge by saying it a few times too fast..) I am part celtic and part viking and still enjoy Alex Boye's music..
It's amazing to come back after 4 years and find that people are still watching, liking, commenting, appreciating, and loving this incredible tribute to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Performing with Alex was an unbelievable blessing, and singing this song made me want to share the gospel with everyone. Reading all the uplifting and positive comments has touched my heart and reminded me all over again why we do His work. You are all an inspiration! Thank you so much!
I was Catholic since birth and a lay Carmelite as well. After a recovery from a life threatening case of lupus in 2000. While very ill, I had a distinct impression to return to the Old Testament to read of the 12 tribes of Israel from the confounding of languages when Babel's tower fell. Two years later, my daughter brought a new friend from school. The family was Provo, Utah. Her mother showed me the forward in the Book of Mormon, that's where it starts. Joined in 2003, no regrets.
Dear Mr. Boye, I have been following your latest songs you have posted ever since i came across the africanised version of Let it Go (frozen). Always though that you were just another talented person, until i came across this song. And i request, that you can make more worship songs. Use this opportunity to spread the gospel, and let His Spirit intervene into the lives of those who hear this song, Cheers.
Beautiful song. Reading the comments either praising Jesus or flame wars about Christianity, I can't help but be amazed. We all believe something, some are on a spiritual journey, others are encroached in their truth. I might think it's baffling that others don't believe as I do, but so do they. Ultimately, I think true happiness will only be found when we are enough at peace with our beliefs that we don't feel the urge to pull everyone towards it. I am the first one to want to try to make people see "my truth", but a spiritual truth is a very personal journey, that even people from the same family will not necessarily share. T.L.D.R.: Stfu about your religion, no one gives a crap.
1st time I'd heard this song and watch this video, I couldn't even stop playing it. I felt the spirt so strong that I'd stayed up about 2 or 3 hrs watching this video. I shared this video with my family's n friends. They love it as well. Yes, my heart may fail but my God will not fail me. For he has been my Rock, my Remdemer, n my everlasting God. 🙏😇💙
It is not for us to judge others. Let each be in peace and know our Father uses all things for good. He will find a way to all of us. This composition is AMAZING!
I have always noted that the best musicians surround themselves with great musicians. One of my all time favorites is Jeff Beck who always has great talent to inspire and do music with. I have followed him since 1965 or so. Alex is the same and since he is usually singing praises to God, even better. All talent is a gift of God and it is up to the holder to develop and share, as it is here done with power and grace.
Mr Alex i am not even sure what to say but i feel i should let you know how much i appreciate your music. this is just awesome. its put me in a much better mood. God bless you my brother.
Alex: An oak took my trailer. Only part safe was where I and my Boerbel were asleep. Your drummer boy helped me through Christmas. Thank you for such loving music.
The Ensign isn't to detract from the past, it is current messages of current prophet and leaders of the church, as well as women leaders and children's articles. Stories to uplift, inspire, comfort, etc. Speaking as an LDS member, the church LOVES the founding fathers! The people LOVE the Founding fathers. More than you might be aware. If you do research, you might be surprised to learn something about that too!
I may follow a different path, but my heart also rises up. SHE found me when I stood alone in a circle of Redwoods in California. I was ambushed! May your deity know your name.
The people I have met that were Mormon were some of the most moral and likeable people I know. I do not share their belief but deeply respect their belief for bringing forth such people to share the world with me. I also respect the history of Mormonism; that it survived despite the attempt of the American government to destroy it. I do see God in the works and words of the Mormons. May all people hear the calling of God and follow it.
Thank you for your kind words. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. This is beautiful. So grateful for our Savior’s life and atonement. God be blessed for the matchless gift of His only begotten Son.
I love this song. Every time I listen to it, I cry. When my mom died I requested this song to be sung. For my mom's life verse was Isaiah 40:31 " for those who hope in the Lord will rise up on wings like eagles, run and not be weary, will walk and not faint "
Peace be to you all! I found this to be beautiful and very moving! To the Lord be the glory (SubanAllah ! We are all trying to find our path to enlightenment in our own unique ways. 😊
I'm currently crying in my basement doing my chores because my mom yelled at me harshly this morning. I was remembering this song and quickly grabbed my iPod to watch/listen to it. Alex Boye you have know idea how much this song as impacted my life today. I feel the peace of God in heart right now because when I watch/listen to this video I see a man who is serious and passionate about God. Your the real deal! Thank you so much. It's hard living with a parent who isn't a Christian so I know I can on God and his people to help and comfort me.
Nearly 2 million views. Nearly 2 million instances where people's hearts were lifted by such a beautiful message. This song is in 'harmony' with the Gospel. #ChristianMusic #Bible #Christian #LDS
I was fortunate to hear this piece, before it was even published, performed by the Capital University Chapel Choir from Columbus, Ohio. The story behind this song is a sad one. You've done some very wonderful things with this. Very uplifting. Thank you for posting it.
The family of 32-year-old Tina Herrmann and her 11-year-old son, Kody Maynard, requested “I Will Rise” to be sung at their funeral by members of the Capital University Chapel Choir. They, along with 41-year-old friend Stephanie Sprang, were tragically murdered November 10, 2010 in Howard, Ohio, in a case that gained national attention at the time. It is my understanding that the students had “worked out” a version of the tune that was finished by Craig Courtney and Lynda Hassler.
I got the honer to listen to them at a Thanksgiving Celebration. My choir sang then these guys sang. I was listing to them and my heart stopped. After they were done, I did not want to get up and preform my song. I wanted to here this choir sing again. Well done LDC!
I hope I can live up to this song to rise when God needs me, to rise when needed to do what is right turns to difficulty, to rise from my knees knowing everything will be ok.
An answer to prayer! I've been hoping the LDS musicians would start singing some of these Christian songs. There are some beautiful ones out there to find, and I feel we in the Church take them for granted. Please record more like this, and encourage the other musicians to do the same. Thanks to Alex and LDC for such a powerful song that teaches the Church's joyful message of a glorious resurrection!
Thank you, it's April 2020 in the midst of the Corona virus scare, my church has had to cancel services indefinitely right here at Easter. But like you said Easter is not cancelled. Hallelujah, Amen. This has lifted my spirits more than you could ever imagine. God bless you.
I am a proud Muslim and I really love this song!!!! No matter what religion you are we all believe in God (Allah in Arabic) !!!!! Alex you are awesome!!!! Hope one day people will just stop hating each other because of religion!!!

Oh my days....he was speaking my language...and he done a good Job with Yoruba 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
+Joshua Hepworth Thank you! :)

Comfort Osaro Those in need of prayer of the saints.
Chris Tomlin must be so proud that his already amazing song became even more amazing
Mr Boye in my darkest moments this made it well
And rise, I will rise
There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle's wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise
And I hear the voice of many angels sing
Worthy is the Lamb
And I hear the cry of every longing heart
Worthy is the Lamb
And I hear the voice of many angels sing
Worthy is the Lamb
And I hear the cry of every longing heart
Worthy is the Lamb
(You are worthy, You are worthy)
Worthy is the Lamb
I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagle's wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise, I will rise, I will rise

Omygosh the african man and the choir go together so well!!!
Not a christian .. still love it
A mi también me encanta escuchar esta canción y lo que sé de Alex Boye es que es un hombre de gran fe, creyente de Cristo, muy humilde y de gran corazón.
Monkey (not gonna try to pronounce the rest) - It's not your religious beliefs that defines you as a person, it is who you are as a human being that defines who you truly are.. (I think I hurt my tounge by saying it a few times too fast..)
I am part celtic and part viking and still enjoy Alex Boye's music..
CloudOfficial
dude ... why do you define yourself as celtic/viking ... those things mean nothing anymore
So you say, so you say.. but why do you think I mentioned it?
CloudOfficial
because for some reason you see yourself as those things, think those things are important ... idk
Thank you so much!
das ist das schönste Lied was ich in meinem ganzen leben gehört habe danke für dieses wundervolles Lied
Dear Mr. Boye,
I have been following your latest songs you have posted ever since i came across the africanised version of Let it Go (frozen).
Always though that you were just another talented person, until i came across this song. And i request, that you can make more worship songs. Use this opportunity to spread the gospel, and let His Spirit intervene into the lives of those who hear this song,
Cheers.
You should listen to Baba Yetu, so amazing, moving
Amen!
I'm not religious and this was the first song that was so beautiful I cried. :')
I CRIED AMAZING SERIOUSLY AMAZING!!
Stunning backgrounds, yes, but the vocals and the blending of music makes this a goose-bump-raising experience! Beautiful and resonating.
No more sorrrows, no more pain!!!
my goodness this song is so powerful it brought tears to my eyes, i am so grateful to be a daughter of a Loving Heavenly Father
As an atheist, I must say this song is sooo beautiful 🥰
This guy is just a master piece !!!!!!!!!
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you are not religious but this song touched you, you should know that it is the Spirit of God that is touching your heart, not the music.
The African drums just made this awesome
I have always noted that the best musicians surround themselves with great musicians. One of my all time favorites is Jeff Beck who always has great talent to inspire and do music with. I have followed him since 1965 or so. Alex is the same and since he is usually singing praises to God, even better. All talent is a gift of God and it is up to the holder to develop and share, as it is here done with power and grace.
Mr Alex i am not even sure what to say but i feel i should let you know how much i appreciate your music. this is just awesome. its put me in a much better mood. God bless you my brother.
Desmond Ahwireng Thank you for saying this so gently and heart felt.
Every time I feel low. I watch this and it lifts me up! Gives me strength to fight for my freedom an liberty!
Alex: An oak took my trailer. Only part safe was where I and my Boerbel were asleep. Your drummer boy helped me through Christmas. Thank you for such loving music.
This song inspired my grandmother in her last year of life. Thank you; it is a blessing to us all.
Sing one of your African pieces in Americas got talent . Covers are good but these are what make you amazing and a star . Remember your roots!
I can listen to this song over and over and over, very moving, and perfect timing in my life. Thank you to all that participated.
Alex, there is some special about this song that gives me strength. I will raise. BEAUTIFUL AND WELL DONE ALEX😊😊
So beautiful... Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass.. they are using right volume for all the voices.. amazing video!
I continue to come back to this song when I have trying days. Almost always I can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when I listen to it.
Love his voice! I heard of him for the first time today when he sang "Let It Go"
I may follow a different path, but my heart also rises up. SHE found me when I stood alone in a circle of Redwoods in California. I was ambushed! May your deity know your name.
whenever I listen to this song I get goose bumps!!! amazing song and amazing message
PRAISE HIS NAME!!!!
***** Thank You Jesus! I hope you had a wonderful, blessed Easter yourself!
+MamaBoots1111 Bless the Lord and all his glory!! :)
I love this song. Every time I listen to it, I cry. When my mom died I requested this song to be sung. For my mom's life verse was Isaiah 40:31 " for those who hope in the Lord will rise up on wings like eagles, run and not be weary, will walk and not faint "
Amen let's hope to be there when jesus cometh

I'm Jewish and love this. Beauty transcends religion, color and culture. It's a natural thing.
This is absolutely amazing!!! Loved it. Thanks for making this available to the body of Christ.
Jesus has overcome! Thank-you for sharing the stunning performance, and sharing this truth!
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!
Irrespective of me not believing in God, these voices are just amazing, provoking Goosebumps and what not...amazing
I was fortunate to hear this piece, before it was even published, performed by the Capital University Chapel Choir from Columbus, Ohio.
The story behind this song is a sad one.
You've done some very wonderful things with this. Very uplifting.
Thank you for posting it.
71259mark what is the story behind it?
Well done LDC!
whatever your faith or beliefs, this is a stunning piece of work and should lift the spirit of everyone.
+browntroutfisherman Thank you!
This is beautiful. So grateful for our Savior’s life and atonement. God be blessed for the matchless gift of His only begotten Son.
Who in the world can DISLIKE THIS SONG!!!???
alex your selflessness is written over your music. Always crediting all the people who you sing with, always giving them pieces to shine.
eshe ooo Jesu!
Such a blessing this song is. This is coming from a fellow African. Jesus be lifted up!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.
I hope I can live up to this song to rise when God needs me, to rise when needed to do what is right turns to difficulty, to rise from my knees knowing everything will be ok.
Beautiful video, beautiful voices, beautiful Redeemer! Way to go Alex. I came here from a PianoGuys video, loved that song you did with them as well!
Who cares if a song is religions or not its a beautiful song.
Thank you, it's April 2020 in the midst of the Corona virus scare, my church has had to cancel services indefinitely right here at Easter. But like you said Easter is not cancelled. Hallelujah, Amen. This has lifted my spirits more than you could ever imagine. God bless you.
loooove Alex Boye Beautiful song!
You don't need to be a person of faith to feel this in your soul. Truly moving.
