I'm no rocket surgeon, but isn't the air from inside the engine compartment hot? Which is the opposite of cold if I'm correct. I would think with less oxygen it would slow your car down.? But hey, that pretty blue part must be worth 20 horsepower. And it's louder, so it must be faster, right?
I never ran the car on a dyno, Im going mostly on how the car felt and both response and acceleration got better after the install. I based what I did on multiple aftermarket kits which cost a lot more than this “DIY kit” which leave the air filter in the same location. Still if you want to keep temps a little cooler you could buy an universal air filter heat shield for an extra 20 bucks.
I know the location in the engine might not be optimal, but if you look at the aftermarket options there is not much change in location. That’s why I left the oem lower part of the airbox that brings cold air from the outside, like most of the aftermarket manufacturers do. If you want to get colder air you would have to completely relocate your coolant reservoir to do a short ram intake. I just bring a budget option for people who want to do the cold air intake mod.
@bluecoopermotors I get that you ain't the one who started the misrepresentation.. But if Red Bull can be sued for not actually giving you wings, these people should be sued for their hot air induction kits.
I think the term “cold air intake” is mostly the name of the product, so it gets generalized for every car, sometimes without considering that it might not change or worsen the temp of the air going in the engine. Most manufacturers have the fine print that they not ensure lower air temps or just never mention that it might cool temps, they focus rather that it improves response and acceleration because of how much more air is going into the engine.
I’m going to do this after I replace my rear brakes. Safety first right? Question: The zip tie is to keep the cone upright? It doesn’t lay flat in the air box I guess. Thanks again brother!
Most things I bought in store so I don’t have a link for them. The blue intake tube I got it from amazon, the black hose and air filter where from autozone.
Thanks man! Great vibes. So are you happy with the performance? I want those happy sounds as well. Better boost, hp or mileage? Thanks again. I’m subscribing! 🔔
I am really happy with the performance of the car. The boost noises now are crazy and I have felt an increase in speed as well! Surprisingly, mileage stayed practically the same. Finally, thanks for the sun I appreciate it!
Nice work. That sounds good, and I like the way you left the stock bottom intake.
And it sound it way better after because it let out a big bang, but the camera turned off😂. Hope you enjoy getting it on yours!
can i keep the stock intake tubing and just change the end in the box?
Yeah it is an option.
Ram Air make some good intakes
They do! If I still had the car maybe I would go for the upgrade!

The zip tie is mostly to hold the filter in place so it won’t be rattling all the time
@@bluecoopermotors Thanks! Can’t wait to install “The Rumble!” 🏁🏁

The size of the accordion hose base is 3 inches? And the size of the filter base?
Both the accordion hose and the base of the air filter are 3 inches

Le tienes blow off instalado o solo el intake? Se escucha super bien 👍🏻
Tiene el blow off de fábrica, y la verdad que el intake hace gran diferencia en el sonido!
hi, where did you get the black hose?
Hi, I got it from Autozone
@@bluecoopermotors You purchased everything at Auto Zone?
The black hose and the filter was from Autozone, the blue hose that goes to the turbo I got it from Amazon
Tremendo trabajo y sencillo!!!👍👍👍
Gracias!!
Excellent!!! 😉
Nice day
Thanks?
@@bluecoopermotors nice work with the Cooper 👍

zip tie sketchy.
I kinda thought so too before installing it, I was in denial of using zip ties. But it helped hold everything in place, so if it works it works.

Creo que hasta ahora es algo que muy poca gente ha notado 😂
