Those burgers are delicious! I bought a Blackstone just to do smash burgers on. I am so glad you are back to making videos. I have enjoyed all of them and look forward to future ones.
Looks delicious! You can cook for me anytime. My wife Eileen used to love your channel and we'd watch it together. Then she died last July. Glad to see you're back.
These burgers originated from the U.S. Army from the 1910-20s An Army cook from Ft Sill started making it popular there while other Army cooks made it popular in Toledo Ohio at the Ohio state fairs.
@@TrueNorthCafe the only reason I know this is because my great grandpa was a chuck wagon cook in that time period for the U.S. Army and he would make the for his family, when my Father was in the Army Major during WWII he had them there as well. My father said they mad them because the onion was a filler and it’s the only way they could get rid of the onions no one wanted onions until they cooked them with burgers also because they had to feed so many soldiers at a time they cooked faster.I wish I had hard prof but I don’t it’s what was passed down to me. And we have them every 4 of July since we were kids.
Absolutely awesome video! Really liked how you cooked the burgers with the onions on top at the start and how you spoke a few times about your burner settings! They looked so dang delicious when you were done!
I LOVE KRAFT AMERICAN SINGLES AND I AM TIRED OF BEING SHAMED FOR IT!! Seriously, best melty cheese when you need a melty cheese. BTW, love these Oklahoma smash burgers. By far my favorite griddle burger. Got turned onto it by George Motz (the burger scholar on youtube). I usually use some SPG or a dash of Japanese BBQ sauce, but yours looked delicious. And great advice for managing the griddle. Glad to have you back!
So HAPPY YOURE Back Bro 🎉 I use Bacon 🥓 Grease on the griddle prior to placing and SMASH N’ by Burgers ……. Amps the flavor, EH !!!!!!! Thanks for the Tutorial 🌟🎣💫
Glad to see you back! Started watching your videos about 2-3yrs ago and ended up getting a blackstone because of you. It’s been really fun cooking on it and have made some of your ideas on the channel. Thanks for your griddling tips and tricks, learned a lot!!
Good to see you back brother! Looks awesome. I add a couple dill slices to mine. Also mix yellow mustard with a dab of white vinegar for a little extra pop! Enjoy the new home! How much to build one for me on the MS Gulf Coast lol!
Started cooking Smash Burgers last summer when I got my Trager Griddle. Quickly became a cookout favorite!!! Kraft Singles Rock on any burger. lol. So very happy you have gotten to a good place in life again. Life does get in the way sometime, but with the right people behind you, It gets manageable. I really enjoy watching your vids. As I said, I just got my griddle at the end of last summer and am using your vids to learn the ways of The Griddle Master. Thanks again!!
Welcome back! One of my favs to make. I do it in opposite order like someone else mentioned as well. Butter, onions, meatball and smash. Either way they are outstanding!
Yes glad you’re back!! I was patient waiting for your return, like you always say about your hashbrowns. The burgers look so yummy and delicious. Thank you for sharing!!
Well being from Oklahoma from what I understand Robert’s grill in El Reno started making and mastering onion burgers in 1929 I believe. Still are open and making them today. Sid’s just down the street also made them world famous. These two awesome restaurants are downtown El Reno one block apart. It’s worth the drive for sure also Sid’s has a chili dog with there thinly slice onions. That’s incredible to try. Hope this helps. Yes you was right about the depression and making the meat go farther. I put butter down then oil then my ball and onions and smash them. Take my bun and put both on top to get steamed of the onions and patty after I flip them.
Another method used during the depression was to mix chopped onions into the beef before cooking. My grandfather had a small cafe and always cooked his this way - although not smashed! In any event, onions were a must for a good hamburger or hotdog - still are in my opinion.
Glad to see you back in action!!! You did such a great job on those burgers I'm designating you an honorary Okie!!! We have diners everywhere here and EVERYBODY seems to have onion burgers on the menu... Welcome back!!!
He's the best!!! 🎉 Grilled onions are definitely da best! Cheff, I was wondering if you can make a video on roast beef sandwiches???? Just a question from a German angelina (LA) who just love the way you teach us how to cook. And also I was wondering what kind of buns are you using? Potato buns or just regular bun ones??? Wishing you well my cheff!!! 🌻🫡
Great job! Made these before too and such a great option for griddle owners. They look so damn good! Happy to see you back. Still love your hash brown omelets!
I’m thinking you need to have an auction and the high bidder gets to come there and watch you cook whatever you want and eat the finished product of course.
American cheese is hands down the best burger cheese. It melts just right. I will say however that it's no worse for you than the burger itself...but just as delicious. They look great.
So glad you're back! You have some great griddle skills and everything you make looks awesome. I have made your hash brown omelets a couple times, they don't look as good as yours but still taste great. You make it look so easy.
looks delicious! I know using the 70/30 ground beef is a turn off for some, but the fat and juices from that blend tend to rock a burger with flavor! Thanks for sharing!!
First of all....Welcome back 👍 I watched this video a few times and made six burgers as well. KRAFT SINGLES???...All I use myself (Kraft Grilled Cheese Singles if you want more cheese). I made a change in one thing but following your prep....These tasted sooooooooo good. The one thing I did change was that with knowing I'd have leftover onions (saw that in your video 😀) I pre-prepped some dip and deep fried the extra onions and then put them on top. Didn't really make a difference and still tasted pretty much the same but one hell of an awesome burger you just shared with us
I would like a sauce on the bun. Simple mayo, or an Aioli. But yeah, made my mouth water. I am cooking my supper while I watch this. So hungry as hell now. .
Great videos. Kraft singles was all we had growing up. I didn’t know there was any other type of cheese until I was in high school. It’s amazing stuff. Make a box of Mac n cheese and put a slice or two of that stuff in there. Wooooo man. Good.
Looking good! 😎👍🏻 But I dunno.... We just may have to pull your Wisconsin Card for using American singles!!!🤨😒😳 And boot ya to Minnesota or Illinois! 😱🤔😎🧀😉👍🏻
Wow. Love your channel! We just got a Blackstone and we've used it every other day for 3 weeks. My question is what do you think the temp is on that griddle? We're in Vegas and our crap is 500°F + When we smash the burger it's done in 30 seconds. It's not enough time to create that maillard reaction. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks!!
You're from Wis. right? Anyways u do an awesome job on that flat top. Here's a burger i haven't seen u make. Maybe u did & i didn't see it. Do u know which burger i 'm thinking of? the butter burger. i've seen a few different videos of it being made and i want 2 c how u do it because everything u make's awesome.
Nice video brother, You made a solid burger. My 2 cents. Razor thin on onions, when you flip the burger immediately put the bun on top of meat, let it soak up some of the burger juice. Some mustard and done. Peace Luke T
Those burgers are delicious! I bought a Blackstone just to do smash burgers on. I am so glad you are back to making videos. I have enjoyed all of them and look forward to future ones.

Just a question from a German angelina (LA) who just love the way you teach us how to cook.

Wishing you well my cheff!!! 🌻🫡
I will definitely make some hot beefs! I just use regular buns typically!! Thank you for watching!

I think you should invest in a mandolin for very thin sliced onions.
I should
Thanks for the videos man. I really appreciate them. They have upped my hashbrown game for sure
GLAD YOU’RE BACK!!!! ❤
That looks like something i cleaned out of my drawers last night.
That's awesome, was it good
Awesome Burger 🍔
the Oklahoma onion burger is the perfect burger in my opinion.

Nice video brother,

Good tip! Thank you
