if anyone want confirmation as to why AEW struggled to sell tickets in the US and now even in the UK: doing shows like WrestleTalk is the reason.
For real, who in the UK watched MJF on WrestleTalk and wasn't already planning on going to All In anyway? Media appearances like this create exactly ZERO new fans.
If Tony Khan was smart, he would have used his connections to get MJF on legitimate talk shows or sport shows over there.
That kind of sums up his whole business strategy. He only makes the show for the most dedicated people (i.e. marks who care WAY too much about "wrestling"), which is why the returns are smaller and smaller every year

I've never seen what the big deal about MJF is, I think he's average and repetitive.

I wouldn't even say he's average, lol. I can't stand him. Dude thinks he's some kind of a mega star. Being big in aew isn't something that carries a lot of weight
He's a shorter, budget Miz, who tries too hard to be 'edgy', which makes him come off as a tryhard. I've said this for years, to me, he's a nxt level talent, with his ceiling being an intercontinental champion, not a main event guy.
His comments are why AEW is failing, the wrestlers and the fans dismiss any criticism as “bad faith” or some attack
The saddest part of this is that Tony Khan is paying MJF millions per year and the peak of his promotion is staying in character in front of two mega nerdy adult marks.
How can anyone see this and not think that AEW has the single worst fanbase of any group in the world?

“Character” or not, you can’t keep playing the disingenuous heel schtick then in the middle hit the “to be AEW is to be under constant attack” mentality.
If the product sucks and a majority of fans and people who’ve worked in the business are telling you as such, regardless of your feelings, the majority may have a point. AEW boss and roster just can’t handle criticism, they only want praise.
MJF looked like a fan taking pictures with John Cena during that Iron Claw movie launch, he's so small he's not believable. The only person to carry him to anything noteworthy was CM Punk. After that Punk feud he's been in dud after dud feuds with nobodies and hasn't elevated himself or anyone else. Imagine MJF in the ring next to Orton, Reigns, Sheamus, Strowman or Gunther he'd look like Hornswoggle.

I’m not a fan of MJF and I watch BOTH companies and I hear people say how small he is and he’d look small against bigger guys yet the WWE had Rey mysterio beat JBL for the title no less….. can’t have it both ways… can’t say one is too small without pointing out what the other companies have done… also CM punk once fought Brock lesnar at WM or summerslam I believe…. Yeah, that looked believable too I guess…..
To be fair I don’t like MJF but to be fair he did go to Hartwick college with a wrestling scholarship and I went there 2 years ago … so he could fold Cena up like a pretzel in a real fight lets be real

I'm seeing AEW now claim that All In 2024 drew in 50,000+ to Wembley Stadium... that's strange because they show was set at maxmimum 50K and they were thousands of visibly empty seats that were shown on camera many times, especially during the gauntlet match.
AEW match is hilarious.
I Love Konnan no disrespect, but there has been a slight conflict with Konnan and AEW since the whole CMLL colab. DI is and always will be a troll and he loves to stir up the AEW fans and I truly believe the hate he gives AEW is mostly a Shtick
I think there's some truth in that about Konnan but at the same time, I also believe Konnan has a ton of friends in the locker room and hears about the skuttlebutt and whether folks there are happy or believe Khan is doing a good job.

I love how there's this groupthink within AEW that any criticism has to be 'bad faith' or to score money or for any reason other than the fact that AEW deserves the fucking criticism and that the company needs help. MJF might be able to cut a cute heel promo but he's as blatant a suck-up as Dax Harwood or Britt Baker or anyone else in the company - what's more, he's shown than he's still really limited and can't play a convincing babyface. That's what separates him from the Pipers, Savages, Rocks and Flairs of this world. IMO all those guys were best as heels but they made little tweaks and were still really effective faces. MJF isn't, he stank.
My cousin loves wrestling video games. A few years ago he downloaded MJF from the Community Creations as the only wrestler (after the end of WCW and ECW) who never wrestled for WWE because he said he’s the biggest guy in wrestling. Recently he deleted MJF to download Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu “to make room for interesting wrestlers”. That’s the downfall of MJF after jumping the shark a long time ago.

AEW are TERRIFIED of Cornette. They never mention him. I'm sure that after all that stuff kicked off ages ago with Miro and Penelope Ford, Khan banned his people from ever mentioning Corny or reacting to him. Fact: when Corny stopped recapping Dynamite for a while on his show, the ratings noticeably dipped.
