Great to see my second home being finally featured here. As far as I know, the airport was closed as a part of the demilitarization of the Swiss alps during the 90’s and 00’s. The former military airfields Raron and Turtmann are not longer in use as well and have been partly demolished. Luckily, the operations at Raron Airport weren’t entirely discontinued and today, small planes and gliders use a remainder of the former runaway.
If you're interested in closed airports can I recommend Filton Airfield in the UK? idk if there are any msfs addons for it but it's where all the British Concordes were built and tested, but it's history goes back far further than that. There's a museum on the site now that's quite nice.
3:14 imagine ur getting scramble into intercept missions but u can’t continuing taxi to the runway because u have to wait for a train to pass the taxiway
you should really check out sidi ahmed airbase that exists in the north of Tunisia near Bizaerte. It was built by the french army since tunisia was colonized by france back then it has an interesting runways layout and one of them is really short (which should be interesting enough for you to tru out)
If your interested theres a small airfield near JFK that doesnt show in MSFS 2020 so i think its abandoned Edit: It's called Floyd Bennett airfield I think you should check it out
EPRJ-EPRZ. Try take off from one and land on the other. The shortest distance I've seen so far. You could litrerally throw the stone and reach the other location. FOR REAL :)
