We used to have a house on St Bart’s. This video brought me back so many happy memories from the time I spent there as a young child. That airport will always remain my favourite.
For those wondering about why there's a Swedish flag at 5:23, the island was Swedish from 1784 to 1878! France gave Sweden the island in exchange for French trading rights in Gothenburg. With that, the Swedish West India Company was established, but the colony wasn't quite successful. The islanders faced a feverish epidemic that led to the deaths of 300 people in 1840, as well as a severe drought in 1850. Sweden no longer saw the colony as viable and attempted to give it to the US in the late 1860s. They even tried giving it to Italy, but Sweden stopped talks with Italy after realizing Italy wanted to use it as a penal colony So when Oscar II became King in 1872, he approached France about returning the island, which they agreed to in August 1877, and the French officially reoccupied it in March 1878.
I could never get tired of watching PC-12's taking off and landing, they are just so perfect. And I like how you called the third spotting site "Almost Dying", although you didn't spend as much time there as I had hoped. You should come to San Diego sometime and see the jets approaching almost between the downtown buildings. In the meantime, you better start doing more livestreams so you can start saving up for your next trip :)
Ah yes, a Swiss man flying in a Canadian aircraft, landing on a French island, at an airport named after a Swedish king...Mr. Worldwide. The Twin Otter really is the "Tis but a scratch" of aircrafts. It can handle anything from a mountaintop to a short runway with ease. And the fact you were able to handle the steep landing while holding two cameras shows how much of a Chad you are. Truly doing God's work. We appreciate your dedication. 8:54 That's a red-footed tortoise! The only tortoise found on the island. Though they're not native but rather introduced. Their native range is northern South America, and they were brought to the Caribbean as a food source in the 17th century.
This is probably the best video I have ever seen from the island of Saint Barths. I really love watching the videos you make like this. Keep up the good work💪🏻
The only person that makes such incredible vlogs! Myself could Not Go there, but its very nice that you give us the oppotunity to see how it is there ! Danke Niklas mach weiter so
Did you notice that the Twin Otter that you see taking off at 10:28 is the same (PJ-WIQ) that you yourself arrived in? I guess it's made quite a few trips forwards and back. And I think it was again the same aircraft that you flew back on.
I followed Swiss when he had like 15.000 Subscribers and since then I have literally watched him and his career grow. Starting with flying to St. Barth in Infinite Flight and now look how far my man has come! Congrats, Swiss! Amazing blog btw.
Did you notice the cross on the hill near the round about ? In remembrance of the twin otter that crashed on approach killing 19 I think. When I flew into there a can of coke was 5 US dollars.
