Welcome to the club, Andrew. 😁 I went full clones with my deck: even if you're not using Sakashima or Spark Double, the first clone you drop, even if it dies to the legend rule (or if Miirym dies to it), will still net you a nonlegendary copy of Miirym, which is all you need to start the train: your other clones can copy that token, so you'll get more and more copies of Miirym the more clones you drop. It spirals out of control VERY FAST: in my latest game, I ended up with NINE Miirym on the field.
@@MTGMuddstah Phantasmal Image is one of the few clones I didn't include, because my goal is to copy Miirym as much as possible, and Image's drawback negates the ward.
7:11 as he let resolve beacon of immortality, should it not get shuffled into his library before casting more stuff with Bolas'? Or did he and we just didn't see it due to video cuts? Great game! Much love, Andrew!
that was a awesome Oloro deck. Bolas's Citadel is OP af! I made a oloro stax and drain deck and one time I pissed off my playgroup real bad with a turn 4 citadel then I was hitting all the bangers i needed to close the game like Kambal, sanguine bond and exquisite blood, and finally a mind's dilation, and when one of the other player's tried to nature's claim the exquisite blood I had the mind's dilation trigger go off 1st since that and kambal both trigger on cast and I hit a counterspell off the top of his library and used his own counterspell to counter the nature's claim then kambal triggered and it was game over for everyone else. Probably the coolest way I ever won a game.
@@amarauk9687 Yup, there sure is. In fact the Oloro player in this game built his deck with the classic gain and drain strat in mind and put in Bolas's Citadel just because it really can end games if you hit all the right stuff.
Ganax is absolutely nutty, especially if you manage to clone it. I run it at the helm with the Feywild Visitor background, and the deck runs several temporary clone effects to get extra etbs. Lemme tell you now: you have not lived until you’ve cast a kicked Rite of Replication on a Scourge of Valkas
8:54 in addition to you mistakenly sacrificing Realmwalker due to it being a zombie can you explain how you sacrificed it when it was already in the graveyard due to it being killed on Micah's turn right before yours. (not that it mattered since Maximus won the very next turn)
It’s reasonably fun, but it plays pretty dumb. I have one and it’s doing very well, it’s 14-4, which in 4-man pods is outstanding. However, every game plays the same: ramp, play dragons/make copies, turn creatures sideways. I have a feeling despite its winning record I’ll be taking it apart sooner than I normally disassemble my decks. It’s just so linear and always plays the same. Also, be prepared to be hated on by opponents as you fart out multiple dragons on T3 or T4. It paints a big target on you.
I'm probably may be wrong, but Beacon of Immortality should trigger Vito? If decide on flat card text it's not "heal X life where X is your current life", it's just " double your life". I'm curious..
Every effect that causes a life total to increase or decrease is seen by the game as life gain or life loss, respectively, even if it's not worded as such. For example, when Magister Sphinx sets a player's life from 40 to 10, the game registers it as a 30 life loss. So yes, Beacon of Immortality will cause the targeted player to gain life equal to their current life total at the moment of resolution, which in turn will trigger Vito and Sanguine Bond. In fact, there's a combo with Beacon of Immortality and Tainted Remedy, where you target an opponent and their life drops to zero.
@@DarkEinherjar Yup, that's why Magister Sphinx and wound reflection is a death sentence to some poor soul that gets targeted with the Sphinx's trigger. It can even kill all your opponents with wound reflection out if you can abuse its ETB effect. It's one of my wincons in my aminatou flicker deck. It is Mana intensive but luckily for me I got plenty of things in my deck that make treasures along with annoited procession.
As a predominantly control player. Seeing huge threat cards stay on the field for a whole game hurts my soul.

How in hell did vito stick around for so long!? There were plenty of opportunities but he never was targeted.
Creatures like Zur can induce tunnel vision at times.

It wasn't shuffled in, you can see it still on the board just above the Swiftfoot Boots when he cast the Pontiff.
It looks like he shuffled it in after he cast the Pontiff of Blight, the deck was in a different position, so it was a misplay

Oloro is one of my best and favorite decks. So friggin spicey and dirty that no one expects to murder everyone.

Oloro is a solved commander, just check EDHRec and slam in any cards that care about gaining life.

Yes, as it effectively becomes "gain X life, where X is your current life total", double is just easier syntactically
