To the people who think that I would intentionally avoid going for a combo win on turn five, you're very kind for thinking I know what I'm doing. I can say with total honesty, that while playing the game, I *completely* missed it at the time, haha! This was filmed during an afternoon where I filmed on two cameras for over 6 hours. There were a dozen people popping in and out of games, to say hello, etc. and my brain was just totally mush by this point.
Why not at least run over players when you had a strong board for two whole turns? You play goblins like you you are playing a game of sim city. If you are going to play goblins, own it. Breed lots of goblins and run people over. Or die trying. Building up the largest pile of goblins, then swinging with 1 each turn to do an inconsequential amount of damage is pretty boring IMHO. I feel like a white prison deck is more your style.
For your information, Arcades does not attack at 5 but at 3 as he does not have defender. It does not change this game outcome but keep it in mind for next times (he's not like Doran :p )
That's a good point! I may have messed that up in the narration. The audio was hard to make out because of the number of people at the shop when this was filmed back in 2019.
@@MTGMuddstah The narration has nothing to do with it. At 10:05, you went from 6 to 1 instead of going to 3. As the op said, it is irrelevant to the outcome of the game, though it is something to keep in mind against Arcades (especially when it comes to commander damage). At 9:08, however, Jammy went down to 5 instead of 8. She was still taken out with more than exactsies though.
Noooo! KRENKO! You had the win at turn 5 with infinite goblins. You can make goblins, sac Krenko and a few goblins to make mana, recast him with that mana, make more, and spiral out of control with infinite hasty goblins. I believe you can outpace the command tax with the goblin production.
To be honest, maybe it is not for this game since krenko was going off (although not correctly as many pointed out), sometimes it is worth to keep low hp player alive especially if he/she can't kill you back and "use them". :D
I do enjoy seeing Krenko in action. I have mine build, but making more changes into it. I did realize that it got more good as soon as I added magewright's stone to Krenko it makes Krenko even more scary cause you would be able to pay one to untap krenko then tap it again to create more goblins. Not to mention you have ways to create red mana Andrew so that's my suggestion, but up to you
I wish I could see Brandon's Scarab God decklist... seeing a zombie tribal deck makes me feel nostalgic, as my first Magic deck ever was zombie tribal. :'(
Missed opportunity to go infinite and win on turn 5: -With seven goblins, tap Krenko and make seven tokens; -Sacrifice Krenko and five tokens to Skirk Prospector for mana; -Use that mana to recast Krenko, tap it to make nine tokens; -Sac Krenko and seven tokens to get more mana; -Lather, rinse, repeat, adding two every time to keep paying for Krenko's commander tax. Infinite hasty goblins, swing for the win.
Nice game, but a common mistake I see on the channel is, that effects like Gary or Exsanguinate are used to drain fully, even if people die from them, when they specify that the life gained is equal to the life lost, and once you hit 0 you don't lose any more - meaning that in this case Brandon drains for 10 - one from Andrew who dies and full 9 from Josh.
I actually see this comment a lot. Interestingly enough, the way we did it is correct. You can see the ruling on the Gatherer page for Exsanguinate, but I'll quote it here: "Players can lose more life than they have. For example, say you’re playing a multiplayer game in which one of your opponents has 3 life and your other opponent has 10 life. If you cast Exsanguinate with X of 4, your opponents will wind up at -1 life and 6 life, respectively. You’ll gain 8 life."
@@MTGMuddstah Thanks a lot, I will have to pull my judge friend's ears for getting his stuff wrong, he always insisted it was the other way around. At least I can rub it up in his nose now!
Playing coat of arms and sacing goblins to Siege Gang Commander before attacking with said goblins when they are big beefy gobos. And another one when you sac'd said goblins to deal damage Coat of Arms effects all creatures in play so Jammy's Faerie tokens would've been 6/5's with Alela out. You would've needed to sac 3 goblins to take out 1 faerie but you only sacrificed one.
@MTG Muddstah I am not sure, if i got it right, since i oversaw same facts last time. But i think it was not correct, that Arcades did 5 damage to you on attack. If i looked it up correctly, Arcades lets only creatures with defender assign combat damage with its toughness. Due to him NOT having Defender he just should have dealt 3 damage. It didn't change anything, thanks to Gray Merchant, but i thought I'd tell you, because a friend has an Arcades deck as well.
Andrew should try out the nu Krenko which is just as fun, but doesn't go infinite as bad. Seems he held back on turn 5 onward, and could of ended it so much faster.
muddstahs krenko wins quicker cause the tin street kingpin doesn't put in the goblins attacking and if u have a haste goblin u can attack with the goblins u make with krenko. it also compleletly changes the deck. good idea but it takes time that he might not have
Andrew, you could have sacrificed Krenko to the prospecter and sacrificed more goblin tokens to prospecter and recast krenko gaining haste from goblin war chief and gone infinite. By repeating this you have unlimited goblin tokens and they have haste. You should of won by turn 8. Not trying to tell you how to run krenko but it is hard for me being a competitive player and I run krenko just to see an opportunity to go infinite and not take it.
Not sure if it completely changes the way the game ended but I think Josh should have had 1 more turn. The trinket mage should have died to the zombie apocalypse as it is a human (and on that point would not have had undying from Mikaeus).
Nice to see krenko again but you are the least aggressive krenko player sometimes lol just swing your guys especially with a coat of arms out they weren’t going to stop you
I play arcades commander I call it my super friends city with living walls I'm sure you all understand why and yes I run the Gideon emblem where I can't lose lol
I don’t see why Jammy or Josh didn’t eliminate you when you had only 6 life and no flyers, it would have been the optimal play considering you had a very scary board of creatures. Jammy especially considering she was in the lead and had a potential of 3 ghostly prisons to use to defend herself from her other opponents, you were her only threat and she let you live twice.
Damn this game was a mess, infinite goblins missed, fat coat of arms fairies killed by siege gank and poor targets... Either Brandom kinda deserve the W for doing the less miss plays and Jish deserves the play of the game with that Rift.
The faeries were only 3/3s I believe when I started to take them out. I sacrificed a decent amount of goblins to do so. Missing the infinite goblins was definitely an error on my part.
This whole game was pretty confusing. Forget about infinite combos, why didnt muddstah just kill players trough combat? All his goblins had haste, with a coat of arms they must've been huge, more than enough to take out two players in one swing.
