    Just a weird idea: if you add three, elongated cutouts at the very bottom of the outer shell, leaving three "legs", the construction might actually stand more securely. (For the same reason that a 3-legged table doesnt wiggle on uneven ground whereas a 4-legged one does). Maybe that would make it stand even less securely though, you'd have to test that.
    Cool product though!

    A built in windshield , 2/3 or 3/4 titanium tube that slides on the outside of the stove with a bottom stopper. Should greatly improve efficiency.

    The Una Mini has such a small burn chamber, but I love the idea of combining it with the 550 pot without handles and a DIY lid for 3.5 ounces......
    What is an average boil time for 2 cups on the mini? How well does the mini stay lit? Does it fill up with ashes and coal too quickly to boil 2 cups? If it struggles to boil, maybe it is okay to just heat the water enough to rehydrate a meal? How long for that process?
    Is it worth the weight to go with the bigger Una?
    Wish you had one that fit the UL Toaks 750 ml pot without handles...... probable the best of both worlds.
    I'm pretty interested in one of these stoves & would be curious to hear back on some of these questions. I'd have to save up, but there isn't anything even close to this available anywhere else. Thanks in advance Steve!

    • @Suluk46

      The mini does have a small burn chamber, you are sacrificing performance in exchange for lower weight and smaller size. It really is for the gram weenies out there (like me) who don't mind the minor nuisance. It would be impossible to predict how it is going to perform given the abundance of external factors, but it does work well and bringing 2 cups of water to a boil with minimal feeding is simple enough, if I had to guess for sure less than 10 minutes, but not less than 5 minutes. I've always been of the opinion that you bring a wood stove when you are focused on fuel weight savings, not necessarily speed of boil, only because there are faster options out there. The mini version isn't suited for long cooking tasks outside of boiling water, because like you mentioned, the firebox will fill with ashes faster due to the small size. Not saying it can't be done, but it certainly won't be the best option. I have another video of it in action on a hike I did last year at the Eastern Pines Trail in Algonquin. I'd have to go back and look, but those are real world conditions so may give you a better idea. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    How thick is the outter wall of the stove? Will it dent easily if not transported inside a pot?

    • @Suluk46
      @Suluk46  3 роки тому +2

      The outer wall is made of titanium, but is as thick as a piece of paper. You will need to transport it inside a container (usually a pot) or it will likely get damaged.

    • @Suluk46
      @Suluk46  3 роки тому +3

      The Una Mini version is designed to fit in the Toaks 550ml pot or similar where as the Una Standard one fits well with the tall 900ml version. The dimensions are on the website so any pot that fits it will work.

    Can we get a video of all 3 sizes of these stoves side by side 550-750-900 I’m stuck on which one to get to be ultra lite really want 550 but might be too small and since the 900 is close to my solo lite so I don’t want to buy a similar size. I want to use this one as my new go to so it would be highly appreciated. Ps which 2 sizes are in the video right now

    • @Suluk46
      @Suluk46  8 місяців тому +1

      I make these to order so I'll have to wait until all 3 are built at the same time. In this video, it is the 550 and the 900. I think I hadn't released the 750 at the time of filming. The 750 is definitely the sweet spot, with the 550 being quite small and the 900 being standard size that everyone sort of makes.

      @@Suluk46 thanks for getting back to me. I'm in the US, so I was figuring International was implemented from Canada, but I just saw the estimated calculation of $22. I can live with that! Now I can’t decide between the original and the mini. Might have to go with the mini just to compensate for my full size toothbrush 😂

    • @Suluk46
      @Suluk46  2 роки тому +1

      Haha. The mini is certainly a sacrifice in performance to shave weight. It's smaller so the burn takes longer and can fill with ash quicker. The standard size is ideal if you boil more than 2 cups of water at a time. Both work well and are super light, so you can't lose either way!

    Does this nest inside a Toaks 750 or 1100 pot?

    • @Suluk46
      @Suluk46  2 роки тому +1

      The Toaks pots come in various dimensions with the same capacity. Best thing to do is check the dimensions of the stoves on my website and compare them to your actual pot. Generally, the 750 is the same diameter as the 550 so the mini will fit no problem, but not the larger size. The 1100 is often very wide and shallow with another version being the taller style.
